Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* A new poll from Quinnipiac/New York Times/CBS News shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney by three points in Florida (49% to 46%), six points in Ohio (50% to 44%), but only two points in Wisconsin (49% to 47%),
* A national poll from USC Annenberg/Los Angeles Times puts Obama's lead at two points, 48% to 46%, among likely voters.
* In Pennsylvania, a Morning Call/Muhlenberg College poll, conducted this week, puts Obama ahead by nine points, 49% to 40%.
* The Democratic National Committee unveils a new slogan -- the "Romney-Ryan-Akin Platform for Women" -- in a video released overnight.
* On the generic congressional ballot, the latest NBC/WSJ poll shows Democrats with a five-point edge, 47% to 42%, which is a modest lead, but it's also the Dems' largest margin in months.
* In an apparent bid to drive the Republican establishment batty, Missouri's Todd Akin (R) was in Tampa last night, meeting with top conservative groups and donors. Tampa, of course, will host the Republican National Convention next week.
* President Obama came up with a new phrase yesterday in response to those who express their frustrations with Congress: "Don't boo, vote."
* Karl Rove's attack operation, Crossroads GPS, is launching another round of attack ads targeting key Senate races in Florida, Ohio, Montana, and New Mexico. This is Crossroads' first foray into Sen. Bill Nelson's (D-Fla.) re-election bid.
* Nevada voters can no longer choose "none of these candidates" in elections for statewide and presidential candidates.
* And citing incivility in the presidential race, megachurch Pastor Rick Warren announced yesterday he's canceling his forum on civility with both of the major parties' candidates.

I loved that when I heard it - "Don't boo. Vote." Perfect.
Yo! We Philly fans are... versatile. Yes. That's a good word. :D
We can boo... and vote.
Heck, we can boo while voting (though that does tend to puzzle those outside the voting booth).

Proving Two Rights DO Make a Wrong!
;-)
Rick Warren needs a purpose in life.
Rick Warren is ashamed that his candidate is the uncivil one.
Exactly.
His only recourse is to prevent any discussion.
Sheeple are attracted to simplicity-"You lie!"
And, illiteration (also illiteracy!) is also popular. Hence, my new bumper sticker:
Romney/Ryan/Rape. (It also makes no sense- a feature ,not a bug.)
Oh what a shame – Pastor Rick has cancelled his “Civil Forum”. I’m distraught. Poor Romney has lost an opportunity to pander to all those anti-reproductive rights and anti-marriage equality Christians.
Pastor Warren doesn't want to have to speak with a Mormon and a Catholic in front of his rabid evangelicals -- that's all it is plain and simple.
If you ever needed proof that Rick Warren was a GOP apparatchik, here's a perfect one: canceling an opportunity to have both candidates speak directly to religiously-inclined Americans when he realizes that it will give the Democrat a chance to speak forcefully about his CHRISTIAN faith and that it will force the Republican to remind conservative Christians that he is a MORMON, a sect historically distrusted by the religious right. I wonder how often Rick Warren has privately stated that Mormonism is a satanic cult. I'm sure Pat Robertson, Tim LaHaye and James Dobson have all said that on more occasion. Luckily for Romney, being a "Satan-worshiper" is not quite as bad as being a black Democrat in their view.
Right! Also, there has to be a way to get out the word to Warren, Dobson, et. al. about a book entitled _Joseph Smith and the Origins of the Book of Mormon_. Look it up on Amazon. It is totally devastating on its subject. Evangelicals, Fundamentalists, and conservative Christians of all stripes could not vote for a Mormon if they read this book. For that matter, neither could anyone else.
Mister Chairman, we the delegates to the convention hereby declare the renaming of the RNC to the Religious nutcase camp!
We also request non-disclosure of our hidden agenda to overthrow the Government of the United States and replace it with a theocracy.
We also declare all public schools to be banned and all atheists deported.
Mister Chairman please stop crying-we and our corporate sponsors own you.
I love it. Rick Warren is such a coward, liar and hypocrite. What a Good Christian(tm).
and where Rickie has spoken against Mormonism:

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0512/02/lkl.01.html How dare Larry King say he sounds like a Mormon!
"In summary, the Mormon church is a prosperous, growing organization that has produced many people of exemplary character. But when it comes to spiritual matters, the Mormons are far from the truth." http://www.cbn.com/spirituallife/cbnteachingsheets/FAQ_cult.aspx
Karl Rove's attack operation, Crossroads GPS, is launching another round of attack ads
Oh don't I know it. You lucky non swing state people .
I'm in Flor-I-Duh. and the 12 teevee screens at my gym will at some times have over half with Roves or Kochs anti everything Democratic ads . The ones that don't have an ad displayed soon will .
Obama's side is keeping up pretty good but none of his ads are blatantly dishonest like ol' Mitt and Pacs
"I'm in Flor-I-Duh."
Now we know why you spend so much time here!
Hey, sick: we're with you in spirit!
I do it from work ...shhhhh don't tell the boss.
This part of Florida (central/Orlando ) is Redneckistan
Progressives are few and far between.
Huh? I thought the polls are saying Obama is doing OK in Florida.
That is because of an overwhelming majority of blue districts in the south . The Florida legislature has a Republican Super Majority with a felon Republican Governor . The county I'm in went 62% for McCain.
I never understood how Rick Warren ever ended up in a national discussion about anything. I have never heard or read anything from Pastor Warren that would cause me to take him seriously.
He writes books you know....and tells us if you follow Jebus you'll get rich .
It worked for him . He made a ton of dough off Jebus
Ain't that what it's all about.
Connie Mack likened T Aikens comments on legitimate rape to Joe Bidens chains reference...so what the heck is going on here????
On the Nevada ballot issue, it should be noted the court challenge
to eliminate our "None of These Candidates" option was bankrolled by
the RNC and other out-of-state groups because uninformed voters who select “None”
are more likely to cast ballots for Mitt Romney if the “None”
option is unavailable.
i thought romney (my ex-governor) IS "none of the above."
