Tonight's guests include:
EJ Dionne, senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, columnist for The Washington Post, msnbc contributor, and author of "Our Divided Political Heart".
Wendy Weiser, Brennan Center for Justice
And here's executive producer Bill Wolff with a look at tonight's show:

Bill New Jersey residents like me that live north of Trenton are New Yorkers those south of Trenton are Philadelphians. Do you know the reason the Hudson Bridges and tunnels only charge tolls eastbound ? "Who in there right mind would pay to come to new Jersey"
Julia's nutting up on Delaware? There's Delaware - minding their own business - unaware Jersey's twisted in knots over Delaware having no NFL team for Jersey to borrow.
How did New Jersey get it's name again??
I am reminded of an old movie. The evil ones are chasing their pray. One of them trips and is slightly injured. The others stop. They devour him in moments.
I think it to be really cool that T.S. Isaac is going to visit Smitten's money in the Cayman Island on the way to the GOP convention in Tampa.
I need factoids delivered about Ryan's abortion voting history: the totals, what he didn't do/bringing the country to the brink, all because of abortion and taxing for any revue. His responsibility for debt downgrade. Most talk shows mention the the "legitimate" more than the other 36 bills. I'd like all the stats and attack in one sound bite as only you can do! Thank you.

BOSTON, Aug 23 (Reuters) - A Republican candidate in New Hampshire backed down on Thursday from a suggestion he would use "deadly force" to stop doctors from performing abortions, saying he "let his imagination get out of control."
Frank Szabo, who is running for sheriff in Hillsborough County, caused a uproar with his threats to crack down on legal abortion with arrests, prosecution and further actions aimed at doctors.
"Deadly force is always a last resort," Szabo said in interview with the television station WMUR on Wednesday. "Why would anyone object to the use of deadly force to prevent the murder of an unborn human?"
OK, TRMS you asked for it:
Mr. Wolff and his ( cohort-camera-instigator ) are easy to watch, that is true. But TRMS has no right to be trying to put a smile on my face! Come On. . .This is life and death news. !. ?
You know, you guys remind me of my bad-old-grandmother !! Just after I had cracked up on my bike with my knee bleeding and could not feel any lower, she could make me laugh. .Sometimes she worked all day on it. . Not fair. .!!!
So as a good Republican , I now conclude that TRMS is no better than my bad-old-grandma when it comes to teaching honesty.. Anyway I got to get back to Foxes nEWS , where I have a reason to drink. . .
In response to the True the Vote movement I would recommend following the example of a great TRUE American Dr ML King. Let everyone who finds themselves watched by a "pollwatcher" walk up to them, speak no word, offer no movement of aggression, meet them eye to eye and walk away in the spirit of the greatest civil rights activist of our era. Be strong, be a voter and prove the uselessness of these unAmericans, those who seek to deny the most foundational premise of our country, the RIGHT to vote.
For those women who report their rape and go to the hospital, the majority (but not all) receive Plan B contraceptives to prevent pregnancy. Those who don't report their rapes (and many don't out of shame, etc) may not know that Plan B is available.
The issue for me is: Do the conservatives who support laws exempting rape and incest as protections under abortion law also want to exclude Plan B as a prevention of pregnancy?
I haven't seen this issue addressed anywhere and I hope Rachel addresses this issue soon.
Not a doctor or a pharmacist (or a female) and I haven't consulted The Oracle either, but, as I remember, PlanB is essentially an overdose of regular hormonal birth control. That is, it prevents implantation of the already fertilized ovum, causing what could be considered an abortion/miscarriage. Thus, it would be illegal under the fertilized-egg-is-a-human notion. Never mind that this happens 2/3(?) of the time in untampered-with uteri.

According to Wikipedia, " Crispus Attucks (c. 1722 – March 5, 1770) was an American slave, merchant seaman and dockworker of Wampanoag and African descent. He was the first person shot to death by British redcoats during the Boston Massacre, in Boston, Massachusetts.[2]"
Trying to see if Rachel, or anyone, knows what is going on with the school lunches? Been reading complaints on Facebook about skimpy portions and only 1 protein a week allowed for this year. They are blaming Mrs. Obama and her get healthy campaign but I figure it is congress and the monies allotted to the schools. I need some kind of proof but not sure where I can find it. Hopefully TRMS will bring this up some time.
Some home town parents saying Mrs. Obama is starving their football sons w/her healthy school lunch program. Small portions and protein only allowed once a wk. is just not enough for big ole country boys. What is the truth? Shouldn't this be on the door of congress and the money allotted to the school each year? Just doesn't seem like eating healthy should equal starving. Does the money come from the Fed or the State? Who sets up the amount to be served? TRMS I need good answers.
The National School Lunch Program offers subsidized funding (for actual lunches provided) and commodities donations to school districts as long as they meet the MINIMAL portions and nutritional requirements. What types of foods or where they contract for suppliers remains very flexible. If the lunches are not adequate, it is not the federal MINIMUM requirement that is stopping them from adding to their program.

Of course, not all school districts elect to participate. And the school districts ultimately coordinate their own lunch program.
There are congressional members, and candidates that oppose federal dollars that assure school districts are capable of providing adequate lunches for our kids, such as some GOP candidate for Senate from Missouri name Todd Akin.

I'd be addressing the school board for answers.
