My two monarch caterpillars are growing nicely.
They have progressed into their 2nd instar and are munching away on milkweed.
I think we're about ready to give them some names. So far we have raised Maddowpillar, Lambchop, McQueen and Garnish.
Whatcha got for these two?

Jake and Elwood.
How about: Isaac and Charlotte?
You have to name one of them Franklin in honor of the DNC this week =)
Sazerac and Rye, obviously.
chaos and ripple
It is Mitt and Paul, spinning their chrysalis economics where the rich consume all the green energy and turn into beautiful butterflies.
Eric and Carle.....from the Very Hungry Caterpillar....
Big Red and Spot.
Lepi and Doptera?
Hope and Change . . . it is what caterpillars do!
i agree
"Hope and Change" for sure, in honour of the season.
As much as I liked Flip and Flop, I think Hope and Change are the best suggestions I've seen.
Munch and Crunch
Make sure you keep them separated, we don't need any cannibalism, going on.
Potus and Flotus

The caterpillar that ate the lion's share of the milkweed should be named Frank (Cannon) and the one who ate so daintily should be Jessica (Fletcher) after two kinda famous TV detectives.
A bit literal, but how's about Papillon and Schmetterling?
Or, since they're monarchs, call the rapacious one Henry (the 8th) and the other one Elizabeth.
Or Wesley and Buttercup.
Or (if not too dark) Earhart and Noonan.
1.) - Monco: the name Clint Eastwood's 'man with no name' was named in all 3 Sergio Leone's westerns, and
2.) - Tuco: Eli Wallach's name in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
Flip

Aponi and Cho
or
Hannah and Chloe
In the Native American tradition - Sky & Cloud - looking forward to the day they take flight.
Thelma and Louise. Or if you're a science buff, Edison and Tesla.
