Looks like Obama got a post-convention bounce. And Biden gave one.
Any other election cycle, the incumbent outraising the challenger wouldn't be a headline.
Romney: you want specifics? Here are my general principles.
Obama gets a lift (literally) in Florida.
Congress comes back today (on the agenda: averting a government shutdown--yet again).
Chicago teachers are going on strike.

OMG, Democrats are trying to buy the election!
Heh.
The man on Joe's left doesn't look as happy....maybe his woman?
I am going to be talking to people to try to find a way to get someone to come up with a way to get more public baths for the homeless .Me and my family starteding feeding the homeless on sundays ,from talking them them .Their biggest challenge is getting to a place to take a shower ,and a facility that free to do laundry .I also found out that unless you have some kind of alcohol ,or drug problem its almost impossible to get any help from the government .A young was telling me it was so heartbreaking to see a clean ,educated young man who blood is clean enough to sell to put a couple dollars in his pocket .All he wanted was a job and someone to hear his plight .Where are all the lawmakers
In North Dakota, a burger flipper can earn $15/hr plus medical. Why? Lawmakers haven't been allowed to mess with success. Go north young man.

Um, WHAT is that a picture of? Caption?
Mitt won't give specifics because he has no principles; he doesn't stand for anything.
>He largely inspired the ACA, repudiated his own principles when the GOTP steered him against it, and now wants to keep its substance (without its label) because people like its specific provisions, if not the derogatory label.
>He was pro-choice and pro LGBT, became an anti choice, pro DOMA homophobe, sunk into TeaHaddist "personhood" until he walked it back (through surrogates) when people were repulsed by Todd Akin and the "no exceptions" slant in his own party's platform. ("Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!")
>Much of "Mitt's Mendacity" chronicles statements that can't be true simply because he said the diametric opposite, sometimes within 24 hours, so one of the contradictory statements has to be false.
Mitt has repudiated and re-repudiated everything he was, or might later become, because he has no inner convictions, other than he desperately wants to be president for his own ego needs. He will become whatever those who bought and paid for him want him to be, regardless of what's good for the country. The interviewer here let him get away with so much, it was more like an infomercial than an interview by a journalist(?).
I'm wondering what the Kochs and the Adelsons are going to do when they realize they have made a bad investment, Rmoney still has all his toys, and they've been Bained.
Maybe I'm stupid. But if you lower rates but get rid of deductions so effectively people pay the same actual amount, how is that going to stimulate the economy?
That's not a stupid question. People do a lot of unproductive things to avoid paying taxes. Make the process simple and you save time, energy, worry, accountant's fees, lawyer's fees, and Congress can go home without screwing up people's lives. As for business, if they are confident about what the future looks like, they are more willing to risk their money.
What you probably also don't know is that the Romney system is already in place and functioning. The alternative minimum tax is calculated with one standard deduction and no others, with a flat rate of 28%. Taxpayers have to calculate their tax bill both that way and regular way, then pay the higher bill.
as clinton says the arithmetic gets even worse . the rich have had tax breaKs for about 8 years and it has nothing but increase the deficit . In addtion the rich anbd the banks already pay little tax because of the deductions . ie apple pays lots of taxes and GE oays almost none
My favorite governor has inspired a verb.

I thought she was great. Well let me amend that. The message was awful, but the delivery was awesome.
Does the Democratic Party really need the money that is being solicited by telephone and internet every day? Seriously. I've only got so much money.
I know what you mean. EVERYDAY! I wish I had a million dollars to contribute but I don't. So frequently I give $4, $5 or $10. It seems to have worked. Finally, Obama raised more than Romney last month.
Allow me to see if I got this straight.
Mr.Romney would have repealed Obamacare but now says there are parts that he would keep after replacing it with his own ideas.Excluding of course planned parenthood, birth control, abortions and Obama's name but including allowing Americans the opportunity to get healthcare outside of the workplace (didn't know we couldn't) and allowing us to insure family members up to whatever age we like (Whatever you like because I wouldn't want to get bogged down in things that don't matter.). Let's not forget medical marijuana which I'm not opposed to but it baffles me that his team will allow an illegal drug to be used for medical purposes just not a legal abortion.
He will need 2 terms or maybe it may even take longer to repair our economy although his campaigns major question begs Are you better off than 4 years ago (YES WE ARE) and consistently complains that Obama should have been able to do it in those 4 years.Still we need Romney for 2 terms followed of course by Ryan to repair all the problems after what Obama has accomplished.
Does he not hear himself flip flop in the same sentences let alone conversations?
He's going to adjust taxes so that the revenue stays the same.WTF?Honestly he spent 5 minutes circling questions and that was the basic outcome.
He states that he "Is as conservative as the Constitution." Oh really, you mean the one that begins with "We hold these truths to be self-evident.That ALL men are created equal."That doesn't sound so right-wing conservative to me.
So,did I miss something?Did I misunderstand or misinterpret the self serving, opinion changing, gloating windbag on wheels?
Such a different stance on Meet the Press. I was startled to hear he changed his ideas on Obamacare? He had new ideas on Medicare or at least a different one. Just seems he flip flops on all. I do not want a President who changes his mind or policies daily. That is not leadership.
Rachel - Keep up the good work - thanks for being the "real" explainer and a person that gives the Dems some "backbone" and a chance. You can so humanitarian deed - show Romney that after he loses, he can redeem himself - by shedding the GOP Radical Right, return to his former moderacy - and lead that Grand Old Party back where it should be. You are aware that the country really needs too well grounded political parties - soon! Obama will one day rank with the greatest! Allan
Love to see the Unions (Left), fight with the Mayor (Left), who is John Stewart going to root for? I'm sure it's all for the good of the children too.

Politically speaking; Republicans want to create Hope from Hell, © but for Romney/Ryan the sound of Hope from Hell is an echo .......... in a sea shell.
