It only took Mitt three tries damning POB this week before he realized the press was not buying it. This is quite a bit faster than the medicare and welfare lies. It is now time for him to decide who to throw under the bus for losing the election for him so his hurt feelings go away faster.
We need to take the lead in the polls and translate that into a majority for Nancy. We need to give Nancy not just a majority but a strong caucus with elbow room. Otherwise we are doomed to more obstruction- it's not likely there will be any GOP representatives crossing the aisle if their 2012 losses are minor.
I don't have any close races in my state, so I am contributing to competitive races in other states. I hope everyone can do as much as possible in the next 2 months to make this a strong repudiation of the TP's, and make clear to the GOP establishment the doom that they can be guaranteed of if they resort again to Gingrich type tactics or let the yahoos off on a long leash again.

And your candidate (speaking of a lack of focus), instead of expressing support for Americans overseas who were either dead or in danger, thought the best course of action was to jump the shark with few if any facts and attack the President in order to try to gain a point in the polls.
The only true thing I heard Lyin' Ryan say in that video was when pressed (at the end) about what "tax loopholes" they intend to close.

I can tell you that New Mexico State Senator Bill Burt of Alamogordo told a Republican party meeting that he has open jobs in his business, that he has hired for these jobs, but only starting Nov 12, and only IF Romney wins. Reported by the Alamogordo Daily News.

The President didn't "screw up." He made a very clear statement that put Egypt on notice and their behavior improved almost immediately. Yes, sometimes what he says to press here gets heard there. go figure

This is what gets me. Had this been the RNC or Romney campaign, this would have had two or three postings on its own ridiculing that they didn't know the difference between a Russian ship and those of the US, how could they lead the military.
Similarly, Obama's administration was at odds with itself today after Obama questioned whether Egypt was an ally or not, the State Department said they were. Again, you can claim this was difference and Obama was speaking "legal" terms etc, but this contradiction would have had similar posts as well.
The same goes for Romney being pilliored for critisizing a statement by an embassy which the WH later, many hours later, disavowed. An embassy speaks for the admin.

On a serious note, Egypt is one of those cases where the enemies of our enemies are our friends. I'm surprised, you usually pick up on such nuanced complexities as is in international relations.
Good try at rationalizing. It seems, at this time, we should all just sit back, have some wine, and see how this unfolds. At the same time, it seems the Obama mid-east policy is open for discussion. So much for the arab spring!
Open to discussion by whom, Tom? The people best qualified to discuss Egypt's relationship with the US with any discernible knowledge has been killed doing their jobs as the US envoy to Egypt. Killed by rioters enraged by voices from inside our borders. The riots were not caused by or incited by the White House.
I don't defend the actions of those who murdered Stevens and his staff. I also don't throw just any political enemy under the bus to make a point either. This isn't Obama's cluster but it was his to call and he and Hillary called it correctly. Stevens was doing a diplomat's job using diplomatic language, that ended when fools of short vision decided to play some personal game of their own.

Think twice about pulling aid. One, it helps the NGOs operating among needy people in those nations and two, that foreign aid is a large part of keeping the global patch-work peace and ally good-will at the level it is. Plus aid is a resource to pull should serious sanctions be required.

The thing is they are not killing in the name of God (Allah in Arabic). They are killing in the name of his prophet Mohammad a mortal man who died hundreds of years ago. Of course the embassies were protected, but there is a fine line between protection and looking bullish and inviting negative impressions that in the end encourage protests that get out of hand.
Libya was completely different. It's looking very much like a planned attack or a plan put in place when they found out our Ambassador would be there.
Libyans do not hate America, you are combining both incidences and they were not the same. In fact, Libyans came out and marched in support of America today. You can't even credibly say Egyptians hate America just because SOME of them are angry and do. Most of Egypt went about its business today.

Several Libyans died protecting the Americans. There has been arrests by the Libyan government. POB elicited the response from Egypt that he wanted. After the statement, the support protecting the embassy increased significantly. The new regime has to make a choice, our support or not. Need More Coffee is right about the double edge of foreign aid. Those asking for aid to be cut to Pakistan have short memories. We are already renting access for supplies to our troops in Afghanistan. Get our troops home, then consider who we can trust over there.
