A Libyan guard wounded in Benghazi says there was no protest before the attack started.
British newspaper The Independent reports that the attack on Benghazi was likely "the result of a serious and continuing security breach."
Romney will start receiving intelligence briefings next week.
Meet Romney's foreign-policy advisers.
Kansas considers removing President Obama from the ballot.
The primaries for two Republican New York State Senators who helped pass gay marriage are too close to call.

Not very surprised...Kansas Republican Speaker of the House Mike O'Neil sent an email to his Republican colleagues containing Psalm 109 where the first five words of verse 8 are: ‘Let his days be few.’ And verse 9 says: ‘Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.’
What kind of crap is that?! Shame on him and those that elected these so-called Christians.
Who is the he that Kansas Republican Speaker of the House is referring to? If it's the President then that is way over the top and should be withdrawn. I have no intention for voting for the debt, decadence and decline that President Obama is promoting but we don't need to be crude in doing it and correcting the mistake of electing someone just because we were duped by the hope and change message.
Mitt Romney given the same set of bad circumstances that President Obama inherited would have done a much better job in not loading us down with even more debt and blowing up government under the guise of saving jobs at GM and Chrylser! GM is now "Government Motors" and should not have been bailed out. The free market system would have stepped in reorganized that company and saved those jobs without the debt and decline of the Federal Government. The President is pushing us over the fiscal cliff.
Those types of people have very little real use for religion or any other kind of introspective reflection. Its just another weapon in a life filled with hate and spite.
Wake up Robert! The auto bailout was not a gift -- it was a loan! That loan (and Chrysler's too) has been 100% repaid with interest ahead of schedule!
Proof that to some people, rosy day-dreams about what Mitt "would have done" are preferable to acknowledging the hard work, the sweat, and the accountability of those actually working on today's issues.
So, while Mitt fans day dream, here is an impressive list of what our President is actually working on, for the rest of us.
When Willard fund raises in the Hamptons, doesn't that make him a 'community organizer?' Get the money out of politics, today......
Robert, how would you replace the over two million jobs (that include suppliers going under because of GM) that would have been lost? Who would have bought GM in a managed bankruptcy; hint: no one. What would have happened to your 401k if it would have happened; it would be worthless, as the stock market would have gone down to 200. You don't have an answer. GM stock will be sold by the government at a profit, or minimum loss..... why would you want to see trillions sucked out of the economy???
Robert really has no answer. That statement is just an exercise to restate the party line. I must say he has it down pretty good too. However, Rotting Romney, his man clearly would have let GM, Chysler and other companies go bankrupt as he stated. An organized bankruptcy he called it. What he didn't say is that it's takes the government to do that the same way the republican governments and congresses have been doing with the nuclear industry since its creation. Fact, under Obama we have almost 600k less government jobs. That was part of the American mandate. DONE! Government is not blowing up. It is getting smaller. If Robert means blowing up as a result of 8 years of Bush Jr. and republican policies that had the country on the brink of collapse and the governments responsibility to ensure that it doesn't collapse, that just proves that Obama is the right man for the job. Romney and the TEATARD led republicans would have let the country go down the tubes and we would be having a very different conversation at this point. And, we know Robert and people like him would be singing a much different tune, and attempting to drown out all other perspectives as they consistently try to do. Never on point with the subject and adding meaningful dialogue. Just party rhetoric!
The republican perspective for the past 30 or more years has us right where we are. Their policies have taken America from being a nation both respected and feared the world over. Now we have someone in the White House implementing the long reconstruction process and republicans have a problem with it.
Now, I understand the TEATARD/REPUBLICAN party has had the FOR SALE SIGN up for quite sometime. What I find interesting is that their policies are detrimental to all Americans that aren't rich or a special interest, yet they have a middle class following the consistently votes against their own interest under the false guise of a party platform that erroneously steals that principles of the Boston Tea Party (taxation with representation) and morphed it into a code speak for the rich and special interest and their following eats it up. Something is incredibly wrong with an individual who sees they are in a hole, has an opportunity to get out of the hole, but refuse to get out of it because they do not like the means, by which, they are being pulled out of the hole. A deep hole may I add. I would like to know what they think the means of recovery is supposed to be. The demise of American affects teatarded republicans just like every one else. smh
It isn't that they vote against their own interests that bothers me. The worst part of it is that they vote against the interests of the US. I can see voting against your own interests if it helps the country, but when it hurts the country the way the republican policies have been doing since the reign of St. Ronald of Alzheimer's, then the only thing you can ask or say is that those people must hate America and are trying to destroy it.
To put this in terms so simple even a Rape-Public-CON should be able to understand:
The "free market" had already declined to "step in" - that's why the government had to.

Proving Two Rights DO Make a Wrong!
;-)
I think, Muffy Case, that Kansas is the center of TeaHaddist Lunacy as well as the geographical center of our mainland. A physician in Kansas faces license revocation because, while treating a 10 year old pregnant incest victim, she (the physician) allowed the child to get an abortion. You couldn't make up anything as crazy, or sick, as that.
What's even scarier is that there are enough people in this country to elect TeaHaddists to high government offices, state and federal.
Two questions about Mitt receiving intelligence briefings: can he be trusted to not politicize and endanger Americans, and has he the background to benefit from knowing?
He's shown extremely bad judgement so far, so I think he'll be just getting the children's version at first.
Mitt and "intelligence" briefings...there is something really weird about these
two together!!!
Mitt could definitely use some more intelligence, but I share nonmagical's concerns about what he will do with the information.
It was a simple transposition of words plus an errant spelling checker. It should read:
Romney will start receiving brief intelligence next week.
We apologize for the error.
Texas Mike. . . I sure hope so. He is definitely a liability and security risk given his opportunistic mind set.
Your question about whether he could be trusted with the knowledge is the very first thing that popped into my mind when I saw the headline. I am totally convinced that if he thought he could get some sort of electoral advantage by publicizing what he learned from these briefings, he would not even hesitate. The people doing the briefings have to be very careful what they tell him. He has yet to show that his judgment is good enough to be trusted.
As for your second question, does he have the background to understand what he's been told, just look at his foreign policy statements, and I think you have your answer.
Hm.
So if Rocky 4 was the basis for his view of Russia, then Rambo 3 would be his foundation of his view of the Middle East.

USA! USA! USA!
A society of religious zealots breeds for intolerance!
Read an article this morning about the racist worldview that only blacks receive foodstamps and they are all addicted to drugs.

I’m also outraged! But I’m not inciting violence or wanton disregard for human life; we have only ourselves to blame! Thousands of American lives were lost, for this, savages who do not even honor their religious beliefs, how sad. I guess No good deed goes unpunished, and the road to hell is paved with good intentions:
So, last year Muslims throughout the middle-east embraced rebellion against their dictatorial, fascist, despotic systems of government. For decades Saddam Hussein murdered, imprisoned, or ordered summary execution, on religious leaders, Shi'a mosques and holy sites closed, and genocide in Kurdistan
There was no outrage, not protest, nor killing innocent humans because someone decided to use our first Constitutional law, freedom of expression, to distort, and disrespect Muslim’s most revered prophet, Mohammed. ?
It was a willful, and methodical, to incite rage, and violence. I’m not religious, but Jesus Christ crucifixion has been mocked, ridiculed thought out the ages. Aware of what the future would hold, and left us with wise words:
“‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:36-40)
Prophet Mohammed words of wisdom and the Golden Rule:
“You will not enter paradise until you have faith. And you will not complete your faith until you love one another.”
I could not find any passage that you need to kill, incite violence, destroy, pillage and plunder the labor of others. Just another bunch of extremist thugs, hiding under the veil of religion to destroy anything you can’t stand, nor tolerate. We believed in you, that you could rise from ignorance and embrace Democracy; a system of government best served by humans that where you love your neighbor as yourself.
The 40 years in the desert was both harsh and necessary for the Jewish people to become who they would be. However, lessons learned were absorbed and translated into Jewish individual and public life, and proven to be of eternal value, in their resilience, stubbornness and tenacity.
Of course there always the perennial Mecca Pilgrimage, a ritual designed to promote the bonds of Islamic brotherhood and sisterhood by showing that everyone is equal in the eyes of Allah.
It’s the journey that every “sane” Muslim must undertake at least once in their lives; unfortunately it usually is, as thousands are trample to death by the Mecca Pilgrimage Stampede.
Like the Pamplona’s running of the bulls, except there you have better odds of survival; bonding it’s a bitch.
What you fail to understand is that these people have been under the rule of a dictator for their entire lives. In their country if someone were to blaspheme they would be put to death. Just as it is hard for us to understand them it is twice as hard for them to understand us. Their World has just changed, and we look like a sinister group of demonic spirits to them. They are scaring me with their protests but, I am taking the time to see where they are coming from. I pray they will give us the same courtesy. They are proud of their beliefs just like we are.
Satan is a liar and sits in the assembly to attack the faithful. Some of Satan's lies are as follows: 1. The holocoust never happened. 2. The U.S. is the great satan (how clever, it's like the kettle calling the pot black), 3. We never went to the moon. 4. We attacked ourselves on 11 Sep 01. All lies of course! How stupid to believe these and other lies only meant to drag our world in chaos! Stupidity is a sin. God is knowledge, love and time! That is my Trinity!
And yet, a Mitt supporter.
Do you really blame them for denying what their governments have done, we do the same thing consider the Iraq war and the fact that Bush and Cheney are considered war criminals throughout the entire world. We deny things also when we're not told the truth.
Intelligence briefings? What Romney really needs is intelligence infusions.
The risk is that his body would reject such a foreign substance. I imagine there would be a similar reaction to truth serum.
LOL, it is worrisome to me and I'm sure others that they are going to be briefed on intellegience..their brains may implode. I can hear Romney now,...what does this word here mean, democracy? Now, we're going to see some head spinning. We better call an excorcist for Ryan.
This just in: Headline "Willard to receive Fed. intelligence briefs," seems to be a statement that is an oxymoron......
http://news.yahoo.com/exclusive-romney-debates-obama-things-arent-true-105805916--abc-news-politics.html
Willard's pattern of lying reaches new heights, when he accuses O of lying in debates that have not happened yet. Willard is doing a Chris Angel 'mind freak!'
They probably will need to change their underwear afterall, they are receiving new intellegience briefs.
The president has no chance of winning Kansas, but I can’t believe the state would actually remove him from the ballot. That would create a constitutional crisis. Even the Romney campaign isn’t that stupid(?).
I'm rooting for Stephen Saland and Roy McDonald, the two GOP State Senators who supported NY's same-sex marriage law. These men did the right thing. Hopefully most of the primary voters in their districts agreed.
What happened to the moderate Bob Dole's of Kansas? I don't think Thomas Jefferson needed to have a birth certificate to run for president, and I don't think a citizen needed one to vote for him! This just in Muggle; the Kansas vote on the president has been pulled, until they can get more information. The next thing they will want to see is O's 11th grade Chemistry final grade.......
Richard Engel's reporting from Cairo is scintillating. His brilliance is matched only by his courage. He is dancing directly next to the flame however and seems to be in danger. He needs his alert awareness. He needs his wits ands his sleep. Let him sleep! Please allow Mr. Engel to sleep rather than reporting on the Maddow program every night at what is 3-4 am in Cairo. We require his brilliance and his courage. Let him sleep. He is a magnificent human being, and a magnificent American. . .
Sure hope he stays safe. The REAL alkieda has much less regard for journalist.
That guard's account completely contradicts the account given by Sean Smith prior to his death.
Earlier, Sean was commenting on the open windows in the consulate making it easy to see/hear the protest, and guards taking pictures of the protest rather than guarding. There was also a protest to be concerned about, and not just a sudden grenade-lobbing ninja attack from nowhere.
In short, the guard's lying and at best trying to cover his ass.
Governor Romney himself said that a man campaigning for Commander-in-Chief is responsible for press releases from his camp whether he approved them or not.
Governor Romney,Welcome to the club!
This crap that is going on in the mid-east towards our embassies/consulates shows that we need to make people responsible for inciting these things with their bigoted prejudiced actions. It includes our elected officials, our military, ministers and people in general. Michele Bachmann talking about an aide that works for Hillary being part of the Muslim brotherhood, other elected fools going to other countries to tell them our government lies to them and will not keep promises or deals made, the military pissing on the dead, ministers burning Korans, and people hiding who they are and what they are up to and making insulting movies about the Islam religion are not something to be proud of when they make trouble for our country around the world.
You can talk up freedom of speech all you want, but you better be prepared to suffer the fool you are when you cause attacks on our soil and our people. You have freedom of speech, try yelling fire in a packed movie theater and see what happens. You have freedom of speech, talk about killing the president and see if the FBI and/or Secret Service come knocking on your door. There are responsibilities that go along with freedom of speech and it's about time people were made to understand that.
The perhaps Google and YouTube should be prevented from providing certain types of content to other countries. Just like technology companies cannot export certain technologies to other counties (china) for security reasons. Maybe so should inflamatory types of content be suppressed to countries that are not mature enough to handle it. Additionally, It's a known fact that terrorist groups make heavy use of these system and internet.
So, while these companies were lauded in the spring for Liberating the oppressed, they have now felt the double-edge of of the sword and are complicent in the killing of Americans.
Now I'm against internet censorship as much as the next guy, but I think there should be some controls at the "waters edge".
I'll be god-dammed if an Americans right is suppressed because of the "feelings" of an foreign country. Perhaps this is a "manufactured crisis" that allows the president to shut-down the internet?
Yes, you don't yell "fire" in a crowded theater. Local ordinances and "don't be a dumb-ass" common sense rules cover that. These new government (countries) haven't evolved to that level yet. They are NOT ready for the unfiltered content of the internet.
Rearranging several of your headlines today yields two funny combinations:
Romney will start receiving intelligence briefings next week about a newly-discovered monkey.
Kansas considers removing President Obama from the ballot after meeting with Romney's foreign-policy advisers.
Never in my life have I seen such disrespect for the office of the President. In my opinion, it is another attempt by the Republicans to steal the election.
Hawaii became a U.S. State in 1959, and President Obama was born there 2 years later in 1961. End of story, get over it, and move on already.
Has anyone considered the possibility of a Romney/GOP GOP-PAC connection to this Muslim hate video and its dissemination?
I'm not suggesting any connection to the Consulate attack- I don't think that the Cairo and Libyan events are even connected.
But we have seen Michelle Bachman stirring resentments on the Arab Street for months. She gave an address today, the entire contents of which dealt with her Muslim / Whitehouse conspiracy trash-- but she also tried to draw parallels between these protests and the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis.
Any large scale unrest might be used to attack the President's foreign policy rep. There are definitely connections amongst the far right, Pastor Terry Jones and like minded Muslim haters.
And we also have not heard much from Karl Rove... This kind of underhanded effort is right up Rove's alley.
The more we hear Jimmy Carter /Ronald Reagan posturing from the GOP, the more it takes me back to long term suspicions I had back then. Trying to run on a bad economy and foreign unrest...
Carter was never as inept as he was portrayed to be.... he had a wealthy ruthless political machine pointed at him in 1979
...
Louie Ghomert On Cavuto right now- spinning weak president/1979 comparisons.
Am Im going crazy!! can someone explain to me how the President had anything to do with embessy attacks? Because the Arab spring has nothing to do with this, if they were going to protest this movie they were going to protest anyway!
There is a lot of digging happening into the origins of the film-- leading to several anti-Muslim groups, and individuals that also cross with supporters of Bachmann's anti-Muslim witchhunt. Where the funds come from is also a question. Groups involved appear to be "Media for Christ", "Act for America", toss in Terry Jones...
