Tonight's guests:
- Delegate Charniele Herring, (D) Virginia, Reproductive Rights Caucus co-chair
- Eugene Robinson, Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist for the Washington Post and an msnbc policy analyst
And here's executive producer Bill Wolff with a look at tonight's coverage, avec tuneage:

Were the attacks in Libya an attack of opportunity or, perhaps, was the Egyptian Coptic christian movie maker paid by Al Qaeda to make the provocation and, thereby create a cover for the attack. Perhaps other attacks were planned and failed? The movie maker, it seems, has a criminal record and may not have cared to think about the consequences of his acts.
In addition, one of Al Qaeda's immediate goals is to purge Egypt of all non-Muslims. The Coptic Christians make up about 10% of Egypt's population and are a dwindling minority. Note also that Sept. 11, 2011 is the highest holy-day in the Coptic calendar. The same was true for Sept. 11, 2001. An expression of Al Qaedas contempt, a threat to immigrate or else, or just coincidence?
Interesting observations: I've wondered, on this blog, whether the movie was part of a plan to facilitate the attack(s). If so (and I emphasize if) federal crimes were committed. This should be impartially and professionally investigated.
I fail to understand why there is a reluctance to use the word "assassination" regarding Ambassador Stevens's death. The news media acts like he died in a car accident, or slipped in the shower and cracked his head open, and oh, isn't this a tragedy? The President acts like he can't be bothered with it.
This was the ASSASSINATION of a US AMBASSADOR. Through 5000 years of written human history, such an event always entailed SERIOUS consequences.
Too reminiscent of 1980. Monday 9/10's TRMS led with the story "Bereft of message, Romney campaign flounders". Now suddenly we have chaos in the Mideast, and a Republican challenger again running on the platform of what he'd do to those misbehaving arabs if he were president.
As opposed to what the current president is doing and saying? Governor Romney ought to be flattered. The press is acting as though he is President already.
His five minute statement yielded more column inches and air time than the combined total of anything President Obama, Mrs. Clinton, and any other Washington official or pundit has said about it.
Since these GOP are so interested in women's eggs, please send a letter to your local rightwinger offering to send proof you did not get pregnant this cycle. Let them choose if they want the evidence.
I think I heard old Eugene Robinson bought his Pulitzer second hand.
Well, that was rude.
and downright hateful and racist.
We finally have a complete picture of the Romney/Ryan plan: Bush era economics coupled with Bush era foreign policy. Same Neo-con puppet masters, backed by the ALEC, big money capitalists- just new marionettes. And truthfully, George W was more appealing in a personable way. One of Romney's best lines is the assurance he will have a balanced budget by the end of his SECOND term. God help us! If he ever makes a first term, he'll have to start a war to scare the electorate into keeping him in office--that's the Republican way.
Rachel stated this evening, that Paul Ryan sponsered a bill in the house to require vaginal ultrasounds in all states! Not true! There has NEVER been anything propsed like this by Paul Ryan!

Good work, Mannyman2000.
Once again a Republican comment without getting all the facts. Where have we seen this before?
I want to know why the Repbulicans can't be sued for slander? If we make them accountable for their lies (through their pockets) maybe there would not be so many,,,
Isn't it possible that the Christian right wing evangelicals are behind the release of the video? They could be the ones financing it to cause unrest in the Middle East and try to make Obama look bad since Romney is floundering in his campaign.
