Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* It was inevitable that Mitt Romney's "47 percent" problem would start showing up in attack ads, and the first out of the gate is this new spot from Priorities USA Action. It's airing in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
* In national polling, NBC/WSJ shows President Obama leading Romney by five (50% to 45%), USA Today/Gallup shows Obama up by one (47% to 46%), and Associated Press-GfK also shows Obama up by one (47% to 46%).
* In Virginia, a Washington Post poll shows Obama leading Romney by eight points (52% to 44%), while Quinnipiac/CBS News/New York Times shows Obama up by four (50% to 46%).
* In Colorado, the Quinnipiac/CBS News/New York Times poll shows Obama's lead at just one point, 48% to 47%.
* In Wisconsin, the Quinnipiac/CBS News/New York Times poll shows Obama up by six, 51% to 45%, and the same poll shows Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D) tied with Tommy Thompson (R) at 47% each in the U.S. Senate race.
* In Pennsylvania, a Morning Call/Muhlenberg poll puts Obama's lead at nine points, 50% to 41%.
* The fourth time this week, a statewide poll in Massachusetts shows Elizabeth Warren (D) taking the lead over Sen. Scott Brown (R). This time, it's a WBUR poll that shows Warren up by five, 45% to 40%.
* And Romney's super PAC, Restore Our Future, confirmed today that it's investing $2.2 million in Wisconsin and Michigan.

WI and MI, smells like down ballot protection money and some blind hope for Tommy Thompson. Steve (Can I call you Steve?) perhaps your show or Ed's can interview Rob Zerban who is running against Paul Rayn in that district.
Rayn will not debate Zerban, not a surprise but perhaps a thread in the overall weave, good enough to get him on the air with y'all in opposition speak.
I'm in CA but do receive the campaigns e-mail blasts, seems like a good back story if filler is needed. http://www.robzerban.com/ , just 'sayin.
It is exceedingly generous of the GOP to write the campaign ads for the Dems. Discovered 'The Onion' the other day hilarious spoof and satire. The one where Ann used her campaign speech to ask Mitt for a divorce , nearly caused the old soup out of the nose laugh.
Mitt Romney has effectively turned the 8% of unemployed in this country, into the equivalent of the Hindu "Untouchables." President Obama needs to speak out, quickly, on behalf of the downtrodden.
--
If Romney can hold an emergency press conference to denounce the poor and hungry, then Obama can hold an emergency press conference to speak out and offer hope to the "Untouchables."
So, the big decision for Election 2012...corporate welfare where the wealthy gets tax breaks, or social safety nets where the poor get food.
And if there's drug testing to get food stamps, let there be drug testing to get tax breaks.

And so Elizabeth "Cherokee Princess" Warren goes on to win. And the Democratic Party goes on to become the New Racist Party.
Sad.
Are the Romneys part of the 47%?
This is the critical question: Did the Romneys get amnesty from the IRS in 2009? To my knowledge, the Romneys have not been directly asked this question.
What we know:
1. Romneys had a Swiss bank account in 2009.
2. Bank was UBS.
3. UBS, after being fined $780,000,000 by the IRS for conspiring with its depositors to conceal taxable income, released to IRS the names of 4,700 Americans with UBS accounts.
4. IRS offered amnesty to Americans with unreported foreign bank accounts in March 2009.
5. In 2009 IRS received approximately 30,000 requests for amnesty from Americans with foreign bank accounts.
6. The penalties for foreign account tax evaders who failed to obtain amnesty were draconian.
What we do not know:
1.Whether the Romneys asked for amnesty.
2. Whether there is any other compelling reason for the Romneys’ refusal to produce the 2007, 2008 and 2009 tax returns.

John McCain knows the truth about the taxes. My elderly freeloading mother who refuses to take responsibility for her life, is no longer planning to vote for Romney!
