Day of the Monocle was indeed a great moment - love the photo capturing it, as well as the geek-opia elaboration. :)
It's The Rachel Maddow Show. . . beating up Bill O'Reilly in the ratings. . . two nights in a row. The Madster. Maddorama. . .Taking him on Maddow-a-Maddow. . . Wiping the floor with the amazing Romney video, the gift that keeps on giving. . . thanks to a clever bartender. . . and David Corn. . . and Jimmy Carter's grandson.
Rock on. As you were.
Disgraceful. The 4 senators who could not pass a bill to help our vets. There should be public outcry over this. I'm disgusted enough with Goppers. Now this just makes me sick.
I've got a question: Does Romney actually want to win this election?
I'm beginning to think the real way he's using his Bain experience is in getting richer by running for President and losing, ala The Producers. Maybe in each of these Super PACs, he's siphoning off half their income as a "consultant."
So he comes in as a multi-millionaire and leaves not as President, but as a billionaire.
You know you are a loser when....
George W. is part of a narrative intended to make YOU look stupid.
To Mr. Mitt Romney,
I have fought in three wars and I am military retired. I look forward to be a moocher on social security with 60 % of government disability compensation that I currently receive. I also have a daughter that is 11 years old, who I support and love dearly that will be on my health insurance until she is 26 years old if need be because of Obama care!
I also look forward to my pension from New Mexico Military Institute, a military college for our young future leaders of tomorrow! I work there because of government hand me down’s call the veteran’s college Bill! I am proud to be that 47% that supposedly don’t pay taxes!!!! I am proud to be a Moocher! I am proud to be part of the lower class that don’t make $200.000 or $250,000 a year and so call middle class! Most of all I am proud to be a minority! An American! You see my dad was an illegal alien/wet bag/ a beaner/call him what you want, but he believe in the land of opportunity, and equality. He believe that if you worked hard you too can be a man of equal statue, an American. One of my dad’s greatest moments was when he became an American citizen, that same year he voted for the first time. My dad lives on his social security, Medicare and on Medicaid, all government programs. My dad a moocher, he worked hard all his life, a blue collar worker a homeowner, who paid his taxes but is now a moocher! I am too, proud to be a moocher!
God Bless America!
Interview tonight with Patrick Murphy was AWESOME. Guy was barely keeping together.. WOW
VERY effective.. bravo TRMS
I've said it before, these Republicans of today could careless about the country or the people that make it great.
They could careless about the suffering of our greatest asset, our men and women in our military. These men and women risk their lives so you and I could have the privilage of sleeping soundly at night, and not worry about some foreign force entering our country and wrecking our way of life. The way of life that we enjoy in this country is not free ladies and gentlemen! Our Military is at the forefront of maintaining that privilage. They pay a huge price in blood and lives lost. If for some odd reason you don't believe me how important our military is, please take a trip to Afghanistan, Pakistan, or heck even Cuba!
Having been in the middle of a war zone before, I can tell you that what these men and women do is hard, dangerous, and scary. Imagine being on patrol in Iraq or Afghanistan, not knowing if an IED is going to go off, or if a sniper is in some building waiting to cut you down? It is not like the movies, and even if just wounded, the trauma and pain is real. The last thing these brave souls need is disdain from the very people that they protect with their lives.
I was under the impression that it was just (some) normal American people who viewed war, almost like a movie or a video game. Very few in this country today have had the opportunity to see and feel war upclose. Therefore, it is hard to feel the pain if it is on someone else's skin. My apologies in advance, but judging by the treatment that our soldiers are recieving it's difficult to come to a different conclusion.
But I was wrong. These pencil pushing politicians are the real TV soldiers. Their privilaged and cushy lives leave little room to think about the real needs of some of the most honorable and important members in our country.
Their obstructionism in Congress takes precedence over taking care of the very people that ensure their right to run for, and obtain their cushy jobs. The very same people that allow them the privilage of being reckless and obstruct anything that is good for the country because they don't like the person that might take some credit for it.
It's a proven fact that Republicans have already shown disdain for pretty much all minority groups. Actually, for 47% of the country according to Romney. Wether I like that or not is irrelevant. What is not up for negotiation is the welfare of our men and women in the Military! That is simply un American! The Senators that filibustered the Veterans' Bill should hear from all of us. But most importantly, Mitch McConnell should hear from all of us. After all, he is one of the leaders on record stating that his job was to assure Obama would not get re elected.
This filibuster has a direct connection to his doctrine. Therefore, he is just as responsible for failing our soldiers as are the four wise men that performed the act. As a sign of Patriotism, the minority leader should have intervined this once, and done what was necessary for our soldiers. Shame on them.
