Today's edition of quick hits:
* Libya: "Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Thursday she was forming a panel to investigate the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other U.S. officials."
* Syria: "At least 30 people, and possibly more than 100, were killed in Syria on Thursday in the northern Raqqa Province, when government warplanes bombed a gas station crowded with people, according to activist groups."
* After another Republican ad that takes President Obama wildly out of context, Obama for America decided to have a little fun with context themselves.
* Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) hoped to use the Senate floor schedule to get out of a debate in Massachusetts against Elizabeth Warren (D). Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) isn't going to let that happen.
* Have racists been reduced to hanging empty chairs? Yes, they have.
* Economy: "Americans are on the move again after record numbers had stayed put, more young adults are leaving their parents' homes to take a chance with college or the job market, once-sharp declines in births are leveling off and poverty is slowing."
* Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hinted the Supreme Court will probably hear a challenge to the Defense of Marriage Act in the court's next term.
* The farm bill needs to pass eventually. But House Republican leaders aren't doing anything about it.
* The Justice Department Office of the Inspector General has published the definitive, 471-page report on the "Fast and Furious" controversy, based on 100,000 documents and more than 130 interviews. Will House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) finally move on to other issues? Of course not.
* Maybe Fox doesn't get Talk Like A Pirate day.
* And in case you get any angry emails from strange relatives, Omar Abdel-Rahman, also known as "the Blind Sheikh," is not being released. Now you know.
Anything to add? Consider this an open thread.

Met this guy once who talked about playing the game. He said if you do this you’ll get in with these rich people and get ahead. But little did he know that by playing his so-called game, it was the rich people that just took advantage of him and ended up stealing anything he had and in the end lost his job. These certain rich people didn’t care what game you played, they were just out for themselves and their own personal interests. If you cannot at least think of ways that will help everybody, then why even bother playing a game with these rich people. One is foolish to even think these rich people will really care about you, when they are only playing a game on you. To actually trust one of these power craving, hypocritical, corrupt, greedy, arrogant, and deceiving people is only a big mistake. And people like Romney and Ryan so well fit in that category a long with so many Republicans, extremists of hatred, and the extreme rich. Personally, you can look at many countries right now and there are many people tired of playing that game.
The American public is now beginning to see the truth of Fox News. Fox always takes things out of context. "You didn't build that" is only one example. What Sean Hannity has repeatedly done to Bill Ayres and Pastor Wright are examples. Sean loves to take things out of context. Put in the proper context, we see the real nature of the Romney Ryan ticket. Put in context, Mitt says that he needs 51% of the vote to get elected. In context, 51% is needed for a corporate takeover. In context, the money people behind Romney Ryan are looking for a corporate takeover. Someday, they hope it will be the United Corporation of America. But alas, Mitt, America is not for sale! Your corporate takeover bid made considerable progress in the 2010 elections, but this is 2012! Maybe the Koch Brothers, Karl Rove, Grover Norquist, Rupert Murdoch, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, etc. have not noticed that! We must keep our democratic government from the clutches of the corporate raiders. Cast your vote for the United States of America and against the United Corporation of America.
LOVE the "Context..." video. It will probably put a great many knickers in a twist.....LOL!
One of the best ads I've seen yet from the Obama campaign - "He's your guy!" LOL. Does anyone know if this ad is running on TV, or is it just on the web?

Has anyone else noticed that CNN has become Fux Noise Light ?
Once in a great while I watch CNN ( weekends etc ) when I am not glued to MSNBC and lately I have noticed a conservative ' spin ' on what they are reporting.
And the Right-Wingers complain that media has a liberal bias ?? Especially on Fux there is a lot of complaining about how liberals control the media.
What they actually mean is that ANY news from a liberal perspective is not goof for freedom ( freedom to be a right-wing-nut ). Keep waving those flags while you suppress the freedom of opinions ( and votes ) that don't match your own.
Fux Noise does NOT get it . . . about pirates OR freedom of speech.
Fascism on parade. Disgusting.
For Rupert, all days arrrrr "Talk Like a Pirate" days, matey!
Seriously, you have to love how their "correction" to this latest comedy of Fox-errors was a pair of "tweets" that didn't even address the principal error they made, with, to my knowledge, no on-air correction at all so the
viewerssuckers are mostly unaware that there was anything wrong with it. Which, in sum, is still more of a "correction" than they usually bother with.Get Enraged and Engaged:

Does Romney really deal in reality of life and how things really are? Or is Romney just lost and live in some delusional fantasyland?
I heard John Boehner say that the farm bill will have to wait until after the election. He say's that our focus must be on job's.WHAT!For almost two year's they've been voting on nothing but naming Post Office's, motto's, contraceptive's bill's and the Ryan Budget. And now he say's our focus is on job's?He is so full of s*it ,it's a wonder he does'nt explode.
Ah, but all along Boehner has said, "Jobs, jobs, jobs!" You see Republicans think that as long as they say something no one will actually notice what they actually do!
Or even that what they say doesn't make sense. Case in point is the candidate they're running for President.
That Truth Team video is a HOOT! It may just turn out to be my favorite campaign vid of all time. Well done!
That spot is truly hilarious. Must Facebook it to piss off all of my relatives!
Republicans are born pissed off. They wear their anger like a badge of courage as they cower from fear, fear also being an inate characteristic among their kind.
Its just a chair. I mean is it racist to be anti-empty chair? After all if we were racists wouldn't we admit it? It's not like we are afraid to speak our minds(well whatever that is between our ears).
Loved that Obama ad by the way.
Koran-Hating Pastor Hangs Barack Obama In Effigy In Florida Church's Front Yard
From June
The Irony is Terry Jones's Church is called Dove World Outreach Center. I mean really? Where's the dove a symbol of peace or the outreach? The other irony is he share the same name as a wonderful funny and smart man.
I'm starting to think a dirty secret the top 1% doesn't want the American people to know, they want to take the average people out of the government monies loop so there's more for the rich guys. The funny thing these rich guys are so out of touch they don't even know the American PEOPLE can't stand them. I do a lot of traveling through the Southern Red States and all I've heard from Conservatives is they wish Romney would drop dead so Jeb bush could take his place.
All these silver spoon, trust fund babies are the same Romney, George W. and what about Rand Paul? Speaking of "Government Bullies", shameless silver spoon Rand Paul is making the rounds promoting his book. …Republicans in Congress just killed Vets jobs bill S.3457 led by Rand Paul who filibustered the legislation AND NOT ONE OF SO-CALLED tv NEWS PEOPLE CALLED HIM ON IT!
How come none of these Republican Party chicken hawks or Morning Joe cowards served in the military anyways? They're like Frenchy Romney and his 5 goofy sons.
For anyone who doesn't think the USA is front lines of a world wide Class War just listen to that secret Romney video. It sounds like Mitt the Twit would bring back slavery if he could but Chinese like working conditions and low wages are the next best thing.

It's long been known that the only way to deal with people who do not recognize reality and never come to any debate in good faith is to hit them with ridicule, insult, satire, parody, humilation, etc.
This one is quite funny. Dems need to include this sort of stuff in their campaign ads and not just on the web.
To change the subject briefly, is there to be nothing on the trip to Calif of the space shuttle Endeavor? It (and its 747 carrier, of course) did a flyover Tucson this morning, and it was an awesome sight!
Best of all, that flyover was in tribute to Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords, who now reside in Tucson. It was a very fitting tribute, and it was much appreciated! Thank you to the powers that be for making this happen!
It should have been mentioned in the piece on Lybia that the admin is now saying it is self evident it was an act of terrorism. This contradicts what the admin had been saying. If you don't know the facts, say so rather than putting out talking heads like Rice and Carney.
I think Tom means, "Labia," something he knows as much about as Libya.
"A Theory on The Conservative Mindset about People on Government Assistance"
I have the basis of a theory on why conservatives have a such a negative view of people on government assistance, but I need some help sharpening it's focus. It goes something like this: Conservatives try to make it appear as though the "person" who is on assistance is permanent or "dependent" on the Government, not that there is a long term (permanent) "group of people" on assistance. We heard it in the words of Mitt Romney today when he was talking about his father's family's use of assistance when they came back to the U.S. from Mexico. He said that Americans "help each other out" but they do not provide assistance "permanently". This idea that any individual person remains on assistance permanently is crucial to their narrative of "government dependence." I think that conservatives are genuinely against the concept of public assistance, but the way they denigrate the individual as a permanent "victim" or as feeling "entitled", pushes the buttons of people who feel that "their money" is being given to people who don't "deserve" it. This approach plays on the fears and prejudices of their supporters. If that is not the definition of the politics of division, I don't know what is.
Will someone please remind the Romney campaign...
YOU CANNOT POLISH A TURD!
Isn't Mr. Hanky Poo polished enough for you? Can't they just spray him with Lysol disinfectant, or something, to at least take the edge off of Willard's smell?????
Mrs. Willard to be silenced. The 47 percent tape, and I have not watched it, apparently (source, yahoo news.) show Willard telling the same group of people that Ann would not be talking in public anymore, since people were getting sic "tired" of her! I wonder if she has heard that one on the tape yet? Oh boy, Willard is going to be sleeping on the couch. I guess she was not going to be up for the political talk and speeches, and that she was being used solely to prop up Willard's stiff 'image.' This is an insult to women everywhere, and a real slap at his wife behind her back. Let the woman think and speak her mind. This follows the mormon tenant of the obedient wife! She can't answer a question about women's reproductive rights because he doesn't allow her to have an opinion about it!
What Mitt said was "We're using Ann on the campaing sparringly less people get tired of her" OUCH!
Are you a closeted republican? Do you use either God or blessed in every sentence? Is God your rich uncle who plays Santa for you when you call him? Are you offended when others fail to see what a socialist Obama is? Do you keep an empty chair hanging around?Do you call the Estate Tax a death tax even though you will never have enough savings to worry about it kicking in?Do you want a small government that imposes morality laws but leaves businesses alone? Do you hear voices that you call God? Do you own a bunker? Are you paying for 150 channels yet only watch FOX?
Well yes,you might be a republican. Smile if you can though because this is still a free country. Yeah I know that is what really ticks you off but hey it beats having all those phony fears you have been fed actually come true. Now quick go check on your supply of ammo and dehydrated food. Oh and by the way that salesman that sold you the dehydrated water---think about it.
After GHW Bush in '92, I thought, "Campaigning can't get any worse than this."
Then came Bob Dole in '96, & I thought, "Poor guy. This is as bad as it gets."
John McCain, circa 2008: "Kneel down & pray to the Green Screen of Death!"
But Mitt v. 2012, you have broken new ground in ineptitude, and the more you dig, the deeper you go.
Long Live the Mitt Romney campaign!
