This spring, we had what I think might be an illegal amount of fun with Virginia's "Trust Women, Respect Choice" license plate. You folks, being brilliant and funny, customized the plate benefiting the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood with cheerful and determined messages of dissent for the state's anti-choice Republican government. And then one Virginia family, as you can see in the segment below, went out and got one of the plates in real life, for their real car.
Then Virginia added another specialty plate, this one with the Gadsden flag and its "Don't Tread on Me" logo -- the on Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli said he would put on his car. You folks kindly suggested ways to personalize that one, including this from Chris Bachmann:
Chris also suggested another one, SOCLST. This week, a picture of the plate in real life landed in our inbox, from Bruno Carvalho -- not this one -- in Northern Virginia.

Arizona has this same plate... Funny thing is, this is a GOVERNMENT issued plate... Taxpayer funded...

Vanity plates are revenue raisers for states or voluntary taxation. There is an additional fee paid to get one.
Oh, I know how it works.... I have a Veterans plate on my motorcycle...$50 initial fee (in addition to the normal taxes and fees for registering a vehicle)and $25 when I renew the tags...
The Motor Vehicle Department is part of the Department of Revenue (read: the Taxman) Why on earth would folks who "oppose" government want a plate FROM the government? Wouldn't a Chinese-made bumper sticker do the job as well?..

a few years ago, wasn't there a story about how virginia was censoring vanity plates with GLBT thems? DYKE, etc.
Love it ! For a year they have preached Obama is a socialist when in reality what they really want to do is socialism. Like Rachael says they want small govt on one hand and have went over the top to control women's rights. That is socialism front and center!!!
Everyone, please read up about "True the Vote". If you can volunteer to be a poll watcher please do. These " TTV " are there to intimidate and suppress voters. I remember reading they need to be reported to the poll manager and you could even call police. But definitely report to FBI. Their groups are Tbag-far right wing funded and yet another effort to suppress miniority voting. Don't let rethugs buy or steal this election. Please Rachel and MSNBC continue to report these suppression tactics.
OMG, that's hilarious. They may be putting more on their 'plate' than they can handle. By the way, is Republican idea of 'illegal fun' similar to 'legitimate rape'? Does their brain have a built-in mechanism that reacts to defend itself against those ideas taking hold and planting new ideas, a sort of 'conscience-contraceptive' or 'fun-traceptive' gene? Maybe that's why they feel no compunction to regularly 'rape' our country of it's due taxes, resources and respect, which would be 'illegal ideas' if they dared allow them to take hold and plant the seed of decency and respect for their fellow man.
