Mitt Romney is talking to you.
The NAACP takes felony disenfranchisement to the U.N.
Stay classy, Mecklenburg County Republican Committee.
So about that vandalism at Rep. Michael Grimm's (R-NY) campaign headquarters...
Texas executes another inmate.
Libya's President tells NBC's Ann Curry the Benghazi attack was a pre-planned act of terrorism.

Empty rhetoric. Nothing but talking points, no substance...again!
But he made the point-- blame Obama not the obstructionists in congress or the Reagan era trickle down deregulation policies.
Notice the sincerity? (me neither)
Good morinin' y'all: just a clarification, the "Mecklenburg County" referred to as home to unclassy Republicans is in VIRGINIA. It isn't the Mecklenburg County in which Charlotte, NC, is located. We have fairly classy Republicans in our area and one of them is leading in the race for NC Governor.
Also: I mistook "felony disenfranchisement" to mean that the NAACP was accusing various states - which have passed voter suppression laws (ID's, shorter hours, less early voting, moving/shutting down polling places, etc.) - with Crimes Against Humanity. I do, indeed, support the restoration of voting rights to felons who have served their time and don't violate supervision/parole but I was hoping for a more inclusive indictment.
It is comforting to know that Mitt's latest ad is devoid of content as usual. To imagine someone running for president would actually share ideas, and not rhetoric is probably naive. Give him a D for consistency and an incomplete for actually spelling out what he intends to do.
Here's a clue about business. It works best when left alone, and given room to grow.
Here's a clue about government, Sweetie...
It is NOT a business. Never has been. Never will be. Cannot be approached as such without destroying it...but then, that's what you TeaBaggers want, isn't it?
???? Are you replying to someone else?
Nonsense. Business, without guidelines and regulations runs amok. I guess it's easy to believe this nonsense if you think business has no societal responsibility.
Shooter242:
You are so right.
There's so much untapped money to be made in human and body part, drug, and weapons trafficking if we could only get rid of government oversight.

Hey, Shooter, you got any spare venture capital lying around? You must have if your yearly income in retirement is $86,000. This sounds like an ground level opportunity.
It's pretty bad when one has to interview the Libyan President to find the truth after the Obama coverup. But not surprising. It seems Arabs helped Obama get into Harvard. Hmmm.

Exactly, what are you suggesting here...
She's saying that she rows her boat with the oars out of the water, Valerie. She's invited us to meet others of her kind on the dailyinterlake.
Or his kind.
Now, now, children...remember: Do Not Feed The Trolls (it only makes 'em meaner and more nasty)
Guess I am just a victim of Barack Obama, Funny how my jobs went to @!$%# under George Bush though. When Bill Clinton was in office my whole family was working, but in 2008 everything went south and we all pretty well lost our jobs.
Not Mitt Romney though because I already know why he doesn't want us to see his full tax returns, what you would find out is that not only did he outsource jobs and put people out of work. If you were to track his investments I bet you dollars to doughnuts you will see that he bet his money in the stock market that the US would decline, thereby making money of our misery on top of our misery. Do you really want this guy to be in charge? If so can you please put your Oxycontin away for a few weeks then evaluate this again please!
@Paul Chapman, actually you are correct sir, I read an article yesterday (forbes?) that said he made millions with CDO's (credit default obligations) by betting against mortgage backed securities..he was fully aware that the bonds were of "junk" status, and that they would eventually default, and bet his own money that they would, and WHEN they did, he made millions, he's not only NOT fit to be President, he's not fit to be a CITIZEN of this country, can't we deport him for un-american activities?
Since when is profit-taking un-American? If you could have bought loads of Apple stock 20 years ago, would you? If you could have shorted loads Ford stock between 2001 and 2003, would you? Does it matter if one is an upward swing and the other is downward?
The short answer, nothing. However, how someone makes those profits is an absolutely legitimate topic by which to judge a Presidential candidate.
Shooter? Is Dick Cheney posting on the Maddow Blog? Kewl. Hi Dick. How's the heart?
he keeps saying that he want us to get off food stamps but never how hes going to do it or how he is going to help us out with getting jobs trying to find a job is harder then haveing a job but then again the way he talks about the 47% wich im in it sounds like he dosent want to help us out at all all he wants to do is help out those that are puting money in his off shore bank accounts
Don't you know that starving people try harder to get jobs? Gosh, haven't you seen pictures of factories in China? You don't see fat people working there. Then imagine how good you would feel about yourself when you let your maid take home the food from your refrigerator from last week to save her starving children.
yes i have and ive tryed to find a job for over 4 mouths 7 days a week all day every day and the days i wasent looking i was working 16 hours a day for 10 dollers just to try to pay rent i wasent working 40 hours a week and on food stamps and when i did started working i got off them and i am more then willing to help other people out with money out of my pay cheack when i can and i did
I watched that Romney ad three times because something about it didn't seem "right", but I finally figured out what it was:
When someone talks to you, you see some "recognition" in their eyes that they are "engaged" in the conversation. You see this even in ads where someone is trying to sell you something. Romney eyes are dead - its like there is absolutely nothing behind them - he could be saying anything - he is not at all "connected" to his message!
Wierd!
He should have read the teleprompter copy a few times before they rolled tape. Also forgot his tan-in-a-can.
He's becoming almost as unbearable to watch as Moosy Mom. His eyes are vacant, his delivery bumbling, broken and completely unbelievable while sincerity is non-existent. It would be painful to watch the GOTP's great white hope be exposed for the dope he is if it wasn't so entertaining.
How is the rest of the world viewing the stupidity of this campaign? Can you imagine Japan or China watching the idiotic rhetoric of the Romney/Ryan campaign or the stupidity of the "Young Guns" in the Senate and not thinking less of the country in general?
Too subtle Rachel even with the beefy, very healthy looking guy black guy at the end of the ad. ha ha ha.. No black children with mothers looking poor and needy as were the ads of prior decades.
I believe though the audience for this kind of stuff is shrinking and some of our wiser americans of all races are increasingly seeing this stuff for what it is and are rejecting this age-old republican strategy to divide us.
When this strictly politically motivated, racial stuff works, the politicians win and we, the people, lose!
So becasue he said his truth that he doesn't care about the working poor and middle class, all of the sudden because he is losing now he cares about us and wants to help raise those of us out of poverty and allowing the middle class to be stronger and helping the poor get into the middle class.
Mitt has such documented evidence on his back and forth on his understanding of the US and the World that he will lose this race because the American people know that he says whatever he needs to in order to win the office that he is running for.
So he's going to create 12 million jobs, guess he's not worried about the rest of the unemployed, won't the economy generate these jobs no matter who's in office. This guy is an empty suit and should go back under the rock he crawled out from. They should rename him the say anything guy, I think you should run his flip flops on a loop from now until Nov 6th on the comedy channel. I know this post is a bit disjointed but I can't think straight when talking about Mitt the Twit.
I have a 3.8 GPA and am unemployed, Mr. Romney - you want to make things better for "Them." I thought we were "all in this economy together," apparently the rich and wealthy Republican Party has not done any suffering whatsoever? Make us wait and wait and wait until we give up? That has been your tactics for the last four years and that is why only a small amount of change for the good economically has occurred - your party keep stalling the proposed progressive legislation in the U.S. Congress continually adding ridiculous amendments and causing the legislation to go back to committee!
Perhaps, if you had not outsourced all of those jobs, I would not be on food stamps, or having to have state funded insurance, or having to go without time and time again! The failed policies of the Bush Administration are what you want to go back too - the deregulation policies which allowed you to ship my employment off to a country overseas so you could reduce your labor costs. "Doubling Down on Trickle Down" is not the way to go!
I want someone leading my country who is empathic to my needs and my ambitions not sympathetic - like dropping crumbs under the table as you eat a steak dinner! Mr. Romney, you should have been taxed at a rate of 50%, and you still would have had over seven figures to spend - six million dollars! How much money do you need to live and be comfortable? Apparently, every penny?
I am living below the poverty threshold established for this country! It is time the Republicans pay their fair share! Instead of making "them" e.g. "me" into indentured servants begging for viable employment!
We have to invest in this country, e.g. education, jobs bills - especially for the veterans which fought for my freedom - I am aware that your party (40 Republicans) blocked the veterans job bill last week, the reduction of the war machine - educated foreign policy which is based on fact and observed history not prejudice and ignorance, woman's rights - the right to choose, the right not to be raped and told that your body will spontaneously reject the unwanted child - educated science instead of utter stupidity, lesbian and gay marriage rights, and above all else - the right to vote and not be turned away at the polls because I don't have the money to purchase an ID which meets all of your stringent technicalities.
Obama cares! Mr. Romney, I know a liar when I hear one and you don't cut the mustard!
With all due respect,
George A. Meyer III
Wonderfully well said.
That's neither fare nor nice, George. Don't you know that some of these rich guys were unable to get car elevators? All because some nervy people wanted food?
And that plan is?...
The reason so many can't find jobs is because of job-non-creators like Mitt and his "job creating" friends, not to mention the financial meltdown that the President inherited.
I also note that Mitt forgot to apply his spray-on tan before the cameras rolled.
THAT'S what looked so weird about him! That and his total lask of sincerity...
If he wasn't actually running for president I would say, poor man, he is so misled. He looks like a nice young fellow too. Only thing is, he is running for president and he's not so young at 65. Hey, his medicare should have just become active and his social security. What kind of check does he get? Maybe he is just so rich he hasn't noticed the check or the deductions for medical care.
Nobody judges compassion by how many people are on welfare. Who made that up? We know it's about jobs and why doesn't the objectionist congress have the compassion to give in on the jobs program proposed by the president or the tax cuts just for the under $250,000.00. That sounds a lot more like compassion to me.
Eddie, some of these conservative people don't understand what it means to be without job or even employment not offering a living wage. Part of it is not being able to cover basic needs like food, shelter and health care. Other parts of it are being disconnected, feeling rejected every time a job application is ignored and the sense of worthlessness.
Romney is a bit smug about his success, but when you're handed money, it's easy to make money. When your parents are wealthy, you can always count on them for help when failures happen. Do you remember when Romney told the crowd to ask their parents for money?
Mitt's grandparents (including Mitt's dad) benefited from a $100K US fund to get refugees out of Mexico in 1912. Maybe he needs to be reminded of that considering that the Romneys fled to Mexico to avoid prosecution. Polygamists. Kind hearts helped them return in the midst of a revolution.

Obama is now out to 8 to 10 point leads in Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Democratic Senatorial candidates in these key states also have comfortable leads over their Republican opponents. Romney and the Tea/GOP is finding that the angry, delusional, dishonest, unprincipled, old white bigots vote isn't going to be enough to bully the country into submission. .The Tea party is sinking into in's own swamp. It's going under, glug, glug, gloop, glug, glug. What a sweet sound.
There's also one that just has him wearing an acorn cap for a hat. I don't get it.
I'm pretty sure they're trying to make the association with:

Racism is alive and well in Mecklenberg, VA.
What do you know about the middle class? Once President Obama is elected again the American people still have a long road ahead, starting with new members in the senate and congress, No Tea for us. As far as your concerned, stop dreaming about being president.
What plan? Where are the details? At least I know what Obama has in mind.
The Tea Party is experiencing premature exasperation. They're on the short road to righteous repudiation. Their forecast is gloomy. Boo-hoo. Gobama!
Vote for Romney if you want government of the corporations, by the corporations and for the corporations. Vote for Obama if you want government of the people, by the people and for the people.
Que up the video clip where Romney says: corporations are people, too.
In 2009, The Obama Administration and The U.S. Department of Education freed up $60 Billion for Pel-Grants and other college grants and loans, by cutting out the middle-bank-businesses in college grants and loans. According to the New York Times, Caucus segment, Mitt Romney has laid out his plan to restore private banks to the subsidized college-loan market.
Governor Romney intends to reverse that lot of taxpayer’s money and invest it in the banks favor instead of investing it in the education of students, and in their parents, financial favor.
Does anybody want to ‘spell-out’ to the private-school-educated Mitt Romney that there is a difference in making $60 billion worth of bank-notes and $60 billion worth of class-notes, or should we let Romney confuse the issue of his not knowing with his ideas of what a class is?
While Romney and the GOP infer to their constituents that their agenda in this will cut taxes in the end, all they are doing is juggling the same amount of taxes collected and sharing it with the banks instead of with the public!
Move Forward; not backwards: keep that $60 billion in the private sector! Some of our young people need this money.
Totally agree with comment that he's just not connected to what he was saying. He could've been saying anything. And, Mitt, economists say if we do nothing different we are on track to add 12 million jobs in the next 4 years. Way to go out on a limb! All he ever says is "my policies will be better," without saying what they would be.
Another blah-blah, yada-yada yawner from The Mitt-Boy.
Doctors should prescribe this video for insomniacs.
