They started voting this morning in swing-state Ohio, and guess who was waiting outside when they opened the polls? Above, Democrats in Mahoning County, centered on Youngstown, spent the night as a part of a statewide Democratic push for early voting. With Barack Obama leading in Ohio polls, the Democrats are trying to bank those votes as fast as they can.
Ohio Republicans marked the start of early voting with a Commit to Mitt Early Vote Express tour, which unfolds over the next several weeks.
They'll get reinforcement from Alabama Republicans, who are sending busloads of "Alabama Battleground Patriots" to states including Ohio, North Carolina, Florida and Virginia. When they start sending reinforcements from hundreds of miles away, it means that you need help, and maybe that they think the help is worth it.

Bet you can spot the "Alabama Battleground Patriots" pretty easily. They'll be the ones wearing pointed white hoods.
Let's see. 200 volunteers and 20 teeth.
.
No, Dog,
They traded the pointy hoods for hats with hanging tea bags.
The consistancy is ... The Hanging.
I'll bet some of the Baggers are irritated at the lack of Black tea bags. And Red tea bags. And Yellow tea .......
.
Or three-cornered hats and full Paul Revere get-ups. Republicans = Patriots. Democrats = Socialist godless Muslim apologist appeaser homo US-destroying baby-killers. Don't they ever get tired of this stuff?
Nope, they live for it.
I'm not voting this year, I'm filing my Objection to Obama on a ballot. Tellin all my friends and family to do the same. We hate politics, but this is a necessary evil to get rid of a crook.
Hex Goblinglow
Is that your D&D name? What level troll are you?
Imagine if there was a group of 10 buses of autoworkers from Flint, MI and another 10 from Detroit and they were sent into Ohio. Rush's head would explode.
I'd contribute to funding that trip just to see Rush pop.
I'll drive a bus for that!
I'd pay for the gas!
Hmmmmm!
And just what are these people going to do in these states! Just how is it they are going to help? Intimidate voters? Vote themselves? Is this legal?????
I'd be up for seeing Rush's head explode! Can we get it to happen? Please?
Rush running for office.... hmmm what a concept. boneheads.
The "Alabama Battleground Patriots"? In their grey uniforms with CSA battle flags flying?
(Where are "The New Black Panthers" when you need them?)
Democrats have to vote early to avoid the long lines in Democratic counties created on purpose by the Republican SecState that lost Ohio for Kerry in 2004.
Democrats have to vote early to avoid the long lines in Democratic counties created on purpose by the Republican SecState that lost Ohio for Kerry in 2004.
Correction: Democrats have to vote early to avoid the long lines in Democratic counties created on purpose by the Republican SecState to keep the voting close enough to steal Ohio for Bush in 2004. Is the Ohio vote still being 'tallied' in the same basement in Tennessee that Bush's web site was run from?
As an Ohioan, I hope that my vote really does get counted, it is scary to think what Husted has up his sleeve.
Thing about Ohio is,
Husted played chicken with a Federal Judge. That's just stupid, I wouldn't play games with a traffic court Magistrate.
TAKE NOTE OHIO VOTERS: Husted set up a dot Com website for voters to change their registration data, addresses and such. I would not trust it!! I mean, We're talking Husted here.
We're talking the Republican Party. The Party who employs a company known for destroying registrations for anyone other than Republicans and sworn Romney voters.
It would not surprise me if Husteds web site lost the registration updates. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
.
So people move their legal addresses to other states with intent to take a state in an election? This country actually sucks more than I thought.
I question whether the Alabama Republicans are paying for these "volunteers" to go to another state. This could be a case of one of the many PACs using their money to get voters to the polls. But I wonder how many of these "volunteers" are going to be in the big cities and towns with auto industry and related businesses. My guess is not many.
Alabama, your Cadillac has got a wheel in the ditch and a wheel on the tracks. What's going on?
Just remember when voting if anyone attempts to intimidate you, first call the police - and if they won't help call your local FBI - it's called voter suppression and it is a federal offense under Title 18 U.S.C., Section 241! As GOTP are bullies - they will do what all bullies do - BACK DOWN!
yes and it was horrible in 2008, and I know that all the tricks from flatten tires of repulician voters and the muscle at the polls to turn voters away must stop lets not have another 2008
@ "Steve former democrate"
If you were ever a Democrat, and I doubt you really ever were, you would be able to spell it correctly.
KJ
Like I said in another post he's a former wooden shipping container for demos.
It should be impossible for the tr0lls to get any more dumb and useless, and yet they do. It's like having the opposite of a superpower.
Confederacy Much.
they are sending them to stop the intimidation the democrates try and do, I know I am a former democrate, who in 2008 was all for change and was caught up with the democrates in intimidation of republican votes from flatten tire bringing strung out druggies into vote muscle intimidation right outside voting venues, I am sick of it Obama has destroyed this country, and all the underhanded things the democrates did to get him in office was in vain
Man . . . okay, never mind. It's just too easy.
@#9 (Steve former democrate), You may have been a former "democrate" (whatever the heck that is), but you never voted for President Obama. You appear more to be an under-bridge gnome.
Genus troglodytam, species "cura," subspecies "deficient."
Hmm. Has Romney started outsourcing the trolling jobs that used to go to American wingnuts?
It was "in vain"??? He did get elected, you know. He has been President for almost 4 years.
I don't know what kind of "crate" you were, but you never passed English because not only can you not spell, you can't formulate a sentence with or without punctuation.
Same guy who does the Japanese consumer electronics instructions.
Republicrates only care about 53% of the milk bottles.. The rest are lazy and just want to be carried around. amirite?
You are not only lying, you are illiterate. Which means you are a Teathug troll, not a former Democrat. You download your screed from a troll website and someone pays you $0.05 per post. You get your hater jollies and we get to snark at your stupidity and ignorance that you can't even recognize that what you have downloaded is unintelligible.
Oh, yeah, and you are overpaid.
Voter intimidation is a crime. If these folks have been sent across state lines to intimidate voters, maybe the people providing the money for this hateful campaign can also be figured out and sent to prison along with any "patriotic" intimdators.
I would love to see the FBI and the National Guard come out to protect the rights of voters just as they did during the Civil Rights Movement. Then they could arrest the Ohio Secretary of State, any of the "outside agitators" from Alabama, whoever paid for their travel expenses and teabag hats, and any local poll clerks who interfere with anyone's right to vote.

If these fools are planning on getting closer than 50 feet to a polling place in North Carolina, or in any way engaging in any effort to discourage people here from voting, they'd better bring plenty of bail money.
It is much easier to offend and run back to Alabama than to have to stay in Ohio and face those you offended.
These are people on a mission. I wonder just what shenanigans they will pull in order to accomplish their mission? Will they use phony ID and fraudulent addresses to vote in Ohio then return to Alabama to vote again?
Hmmm - could they have been illegally registered in battleground states by that shyster organization the RNC paid millions to, and now they've going to those states to vote absentee and then return home to vote again? Or maybe they won't even vote in AL since it is plenty red without them....? Could we be seeing a new GOP tactic of temporarily shifting population to win swing states?
I hope the states, DNC, and DOJ are paying attention.
Far right Christian organizations were at one time advertising for all nuts,uh "Christians", to move to South Carolina. They had hopes of turning my state into a religious form of government with all the dogma placed into law.I believe the same is being done in other states. Seems that some of them are a little picky about moving. After all some of them actually make a living wage.
Are you sure the hillbillies are coming by bus and not Jed Clampett's car?
So, any chance we could maybe not immediately descend into crude offensive stereotyping?
Oh Rainy, you've added sunshine to my day!
But....now will the votes be recorded properly? That will be the question all across the country. They've (the GOP), already, tried every other dirty trick.
If GOD has a sense of humor, he would make that my hell. A Never-ending bus ride from Alabama to Ohio with NO AC surrounded by angry and probably bigoted republicans. So I'm taking communion this weekend.
Whoa, I suddenly got a "vision" of Ryan and Mitt standing over a culdron reciting "Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and caldron bubble"
As I re3call, the last time Alabamians came north of the Mason-Dixon line, they got their heads handed to them at Little Round Top and Cemetery Ridge.
Well, southern-racist-redneck-teabagger insults aside, we can note a few things:
1) No one seems to mind when democrats bus in people to battleground states.
2) At least these are civically engaged people, who for that reason alone, probably deserve the benefit of the doubt regarding their intentions.
3) Frankly, no candidate or media outlet pays the slightest attention to AL. We are far down the list in primaries, and written off as a "red state" in the general. No one even makes an effort to persuade anyone here. Which makes it all the more amazing that anyone from here is willing to get involved at all.
Fifty four years ago, when I was stationed at an Air Force base in the south, northerners who came south to help with voter registration were despised as "agitaters".
I wonder how many of those 200 "volunteers" will forget to vote?
Alabama, you've got the rest of the Union to help you along..
What's going wrong?
OHIO.....most of the states are set. Your state is key, as always, because it is so close and so split....Ohio swings elections! Do you, like 2008, want to be on the losing side of history.....Obama? Or do you want to reclaim the United States' role in world history and vote for a leaner government (like the Founders envisioned) and a moral government (certainly, the boondoggle in Libya, with our dead Ambassador) displays very, very little morality here (I hope that no one else has seen the photos of our Ambassador being dragged around by the "local" militants as he died a horrible death). WHY WAS HE NOT PROTECTED, AFTER REPEATED CALLS TO FIRM UP SECURITY?? Obama, please don't lay this one at Bush's feet!
LOL!!! What an idiot you are! LOL!!!
Ohio has always been critical in all presidential elections, more so for the GOP than the Democrats. The party that wins the turnout battle, will win Ohio.
