If recent history is any guide, Republicans will probably start complaining about the Bureau of Labor Statistics sample size any minute now, complaining it's "skewed."
The new jobs report released this morning was largely in line with expectations, showing a U.S. economy that added 114,000 jobs in September. For a change, there was no gap in the public vs. private sectors -- American businesses added 104,000 jobs last month, while the government also added 10,000 jobs. [corrected]
Given the severity of the Great Recession that began in late 2007, and the losses associated with the years-long jobs crisis, no one should pop any champagne over 114,000 new jobs. That's only slightly more than the nation needs to keep up with population growth, and a healthier recovery would see numbers at least twice as high.
The reason, however, that the new report is encouraging is the larger context: the unemployment rate dipped to 7.8%, which is nearly a four-year low, and the revisions found 86,000 additional, unreported jobs from the last two years.
And while drops in the unemployment rate are sometimes the result of Americans leaving the workforce, that's not the case in this new report -- the employment-to-population ratio went up, not down.
By most measures, this can fairly be described as a strong jobs report, at least relative to where we've been.
For context, I'd note that so far in 2012, the economy has created over 1.3 million jobs over, which isn't even close to being good enough, but the total is already better than five of the eight years of the Bush/Cheney era.
Above you'll find the chart I run on the first Friday of every month, showing monthly job losses since the start of the Great Recession. The image makes a distinction -- red columns point to monthly job totals under the Bush administration, while blue columns point to job totals under the Obama administration.
Update: Here's another chart, this one showing monthly job losses/gains in just the private sector since the start of the Great Recession.

Yes!
This is great news for the President. Despite the inevitable Republican whinging, this shows that the economy is getting better. Hard to deny these numbers- breaking the 8% unemployment barrier is huge.
Many jobs created, unemployment down...this totally blunts one of the Republicans major arguments to independents.
FOX will of course be flashing the old "news alert" sign all month now and refocus their trolls with more fear and loathing.
Scary Black Man and family still in White House after 1 debate...How's this even possible? We at FOX "News" will "NEWS ALERT" our tails off to bring you the very latest... in inscrutable minutiae...you can count on us!!!
The truth scalds y'all like boiling water.
But you drink in the lies like they are refreshing springs.
oBama lies, America dies... but help is on the way. we will kick his skinny a$$ back to Chicago.
What's the matter? Barnum & Bailey's isn't hiring?
The memo that the Romney campaign released regarding the unemployment report didn't include what they said when they first saw it, "oh @!$%#, this isn't good!"
Sorry no mo yrs. the Man is still in the White House and that is where he stays. Millard will just have to stay in all his other houses, because this one by the American People is not up for SALE and never will be.
So keep your money reps, and keep pounding down that rat hole, rmoney.
dam ------------that TEX is back on MSNBC again<<<>>must be some thing we libs is teaching him
What an amazing coincidence!
Obama issues an temporary immigration amnesty several months ago and consumer demand goes up enough to employ hundreds of thousands of people for the first time since Bush left office.
I wonder how that happened?
Does anyone suppose that immigrants actually create consumer demand just like everyone else living here?
And I wonder how Obama managed to recognize that in time to win the election?
mr head;) you dont give a dam, dam dam about immigrants--------so dont try that acting like you got a bleeding heart for immigrants==== another trick by a gop member
When y'all collapse my comments, I can't feel the love.
Most interestingly the United States sister country Canada also had much better than expected job growth for the same period. Remembering the Canadian economy is bound to the United States' economy, it backs up the U.S. numbers. In fact Canada’s domestic economy turned in one of the strongest job creation months of the year, adding an eye-popping 52,100 new jobs that was five times more than Canadian economists expected. The Canadian Federal Agency responsible, Statistics Canada, has no connection to "Chicago Politicians". In fact the Canadian Federal political party in power at the moment is the "conservative party of Canada". Sorry Jack but you are out to lunch on this one.
Shouldn't the following:
actually be in the last two months?
Yes, it should be. And here are some more excellent charts from Ezra Klein's Wonkbook at washingtonpost.com:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/wp/2012/10/05/the-jobs-report-in-six-charts/
Well, they corrected the other typo, but this one is still there and it is a *big* deal. C'mon Steve, this is good news!
Conservatives have finally began admitting that they want unemployment to go up by claiming that a good economy is a conspiracy.
Joe Scarborough is leading the pack, "It Can't Be",, LMAO!!!!
Republicans created the problems and Obama is solving them.
The Real ID Act banned drivers licenses for undocumented immigrants at the same time Bush raised the cost of a green card from $100 to over $1,000 for people making $0.10/pound picking grapes. The fee increase is being used to pay for 911 border security.
We call them "illegal immigrants" because they are too poor to pay for documentation, and police make tens of $millions$ every year from impound fees and vehicle auctions.
This violates the illegal search and seizure provision of the US constitution.
Over 5 million people "self deport" from the US between 2006 and 2010 after police threaten them and steal their cars.
California population suddenly drops by over 2 million. That departure collapsed housing prices by 40% on the west coast.
Over 5 million abandoned houses across the US. At least 4 million people loose their jobs as a direct result of reduced consumer demand.
Each 100 immigrants spend enough money to employ about 60 citizens through consumer demand for vehicles, clothing, and food, in addition to paying rent and mortgages for dwellings that would otherwise be abandoned.
Obama issues an immigration amnesty in June and consumer demand went up enough to employ over 100,000 more US citizens immediately after several hundred thousand people gain temporary legal residency.
Vacancy rates are down in California for the first time since 2007 and prices are slowly rising.
Perverted immigrant fantasies caused the Great Recession.
Romney has openly stated that he wants to:
Meanwhile wealthy people are running TV adds that claim that putting money in banks vaults by cutting taxes will increase consumer demand despite the fact that everyone knows that retail sales from the middle class and poor create most jobs.
At the same time wealthy people are lying to people by claiming that immigrants are stealing their jobs by working in fields picking grapes at $0.10/pound and that some kind of magic prevents housing from becoming abandoned when immigrants leave the US.
No US citizens work in fields picking grapes.
And, shouldn't this:
be while the government, for a change, added 10,000 jobs.
You seem to be in a bit of a hurry and are defaulting to bad news :)
You seem to be in a hurry to counteract good news.
Of course, what's good for the country is bad for the GOP.
This is wonderful news. Wonderful. My prayers were answered.
Sorry, Trolls. There's no way to spin it that will make me feel bad.
Your turn to feel bad. Of course, you won't believe it, but it is TRUE!
7.8% A recovery is underway.
Remember, though, that oBama's stimulus passed on Feb. 17, 2009, and the administration promised quick results from that $800 million investment. If Obama accepts responsibility from there, he hasn't presided over a net job loss, but the tiny improvement is nothing to brag about. oBama PROMISED if we passed this that unemployment would be at 5.6% by now. Instead they reinvent the method to calculate the unemployment rate and feed the dribble to the masses. The only ProGrowth oBama wants is in Government.
Kerry complained about the terrible job situation under Bush in 2004 with an unemployment rate in the 5% range.
You are in delusional fantasy land if you believe these numbers are TRUE.
Everyone knows what these numbers exclude.
You rightie are the ones delusional. But we expected no more for your side.
Larry, Yeah! They're panties are all in a twist!!! Just listen to them. LOL! I love it.
Always betting against Obama. LOL
You guys are SO on the wrong side of history!
I agree, 10% unemployment at the end of the Bush presidency is much better than the current 7.8% ;)
Their
There
They're
That's because Obama is a loser India, and only a fool backs a loser.
Keep on farting Larry - I know how much you love the smell of your own gas.
Stammer, Ahhhh, Feelin bad??? Want a hankie?
mc. Just another insult rightie. As if you think we give a rat's A$$ about what you think. Sorry. We know you don't think. Just full of hate. Keep spreading your BS and nothings. Empty bowl, empty mind. You want to insult, lets go No, I'm not going to stoop to your level. You're not worth it.
That was quite a comment, Stammer. Really impressive. Carried a lot of important information.
Don't worry Chris, I don't come close to taking your place as the poster child of useless posts.
Except just like you that too is a re reg lie.
they uesing black faces on the blogging site I know bigsby jr and you no bigsby jr another GOP trick<<<>>>>just wouldnt work with the face------------Go back to foxnoise net
LOL WHAT?
Another gaseous bloated poster who keeps on farting because he's in love with the smell of his own gas.
You heard him.
What I "heard" was that I am not Clayton Bigsby because "he knows bigsby." Sorry but this is a fictional character so there's no way jelly-turd could know him, because he doesn't exist.
It's nice to know you don't exist. Now act like it.
bigsby. Have you ever made a useful comment? Have you ever commented without insults? And he didn't say he knew Clayton Bigsby. He said he knew Clayton Bigsby JR, which you are claiming to be. Can't even read. But that's OK. You can just make it up as you go. Maybe you'll be honest enough to admit the real reason you righties come to our blog. I doubt it, but everybody has some hope.
And if you choose to throw more insults, it will be reported.
bigsby-------you see i got you------->>>>>>>you dont talk like a brother a true brother wouldnt talk about farting and smelliing gas====come whos the real you
Really Larry you choose to argue minutia with me. Bigsby Jr. doesn't exist either.
Right back at you Larry. I've been reporting your insults all day, along with John from Texas, whomitmay and The Real Chris. But then you liberals are immune from being banned unless you have repeated and flagrant violations here, right? So I don't expect much to happen since the moderation on this forum is just as one-sided as the opinions here.
Care to make some more racial stereotypes while you're at it? Brother?
So you expect us to just take your insults and not give any back? think again.
Except that you're supposed to report violations and nowhere in the rules does it say it's OK to "give them back." Maybe you should stop telling everyone how to conduct themselves here and go read the rules again for yourself.
While you're at it stop acting like a victim.
take your hate back to Fox Noise Net<<<<>>>>>they are the ones that need you and your hate<<>>>Bigsby
I'm not acting like a victim. I'll tell you what. I'll mind my business just as soon as you righties mind yours and quit hateing and lying.
Guys...
I put CBJr on 'ignore' after his second post... Bacteria cannot thrive in a vacuum...
Please, Do Not Feed The Trolls...
Nobody gives on sh!t who you have on ignore David.
I'll tell you what Larry, you need to learn math and spelling.
It must be terribly disappointing for Mitt and Co , who are rooting against the country . They would have been dancing in the street and rejoicing if the numbers had gone south
Country First? Kiss my A$$
Whoa, You just subliminally flashed a vision of Mitt and Ryan rooting around the pig sty didn't you.
Brings to mind...
Have you seen the little piggies living piggy lives.....
Piggies
Just as an fyi, the revisions for July and August mean that the jobs created were 36% higher for the latter part of the summer than originally estimated. (142K+181K)/(96K+141K).
That is a lot better than originally thought and may help explain why consumer confidence has been picking up more than expected.
And now the Romney campaign is rushing out to buy the unskewedjobsreport.com domain.
Interesting. I wonder if Obama had any advance information the this report Wednesday night.
During the convention, they said he had the jobs numbers the night of his acceptance speech, so the answer is probably not Wednesday night, but last night he knew.
Obama is good at keep things quiet, and then dropping the bomb in a much more subtle way. He is my man. He scored!
For the first time this year, the number of households using our food shelf in our Minnesota district fell last month by 50 families, from an average of about 375 families a month. That, to me, says that we are moving in the right direction even more that these statistics. That, along with several of our clients that did come in rejoicing that they have finally found a job and wouldn't need our help much longer.
Steve, since the numbers of new jobs is so affected by the number of public sector job losses and with the emphasis of the Republican Party in cutting the public work force, is it possible to do a graph of just the public sector job losses across the country? The Republicans have cut public sector jobs both statewide and nationally to the point that what is left of the workforce is hard put to keep up with their job requirements. I think a graph of those losses would point out that we can ill afford to cut that many more jobs in either the states or federal government.
Unless the jobs we cut are the ones that are the highest paying jobs. We could probably do away with several of the top aides, assistants and gofers for the governors, senators and house members.
We could do away with all of those house members, who have been sitting on their hands saying NO for the past two years. That could save the country big bucks, without raising the un-employed numbers very much!
I'm sure this is good news for John McCain somehow.
Watching Romney and Ryan with fireworks exploding behind them as they basked in the glow of their adoring fans last night reminded me of George Bush's "Mission Accomplished" moment on the deck of the aircraft carrier.
LOL! We can hope this is the same harbinger of reality.
Shooter called in sick this morning and asked me to post this for him:
These numbers reflect Romney's victory in the debates. Small businesses are no longer afraid to hire people because they know The United Socialist States of America will no longer be around in 2013.
I thought Shooter wanted you to post "Heh." yet again....and again.
I guess what Shooter and his business friends are saying is that they assume Mittens will win because of his debate performance?
Don't worry Jenny. Tell Shooter Obama will still win so they don't have to worry about Mittens ending the world.
Proves without a doubt President Obama's policies are working..bye bye republicans and especially romney/ryan. Guess you can't lie about the economy and get away with it anymore and that means you have NOTHING!
If41, I am beside myself with joy!!!! A real recovery is underway! 7.8%!
That's for sure India and the righties are squirming all over the place as they have been proven wrong again...
Ha Ha Ha, which specific policy of Barry's created this growth in jobs?
The Obama stimulus did not create jobs. Once you take into account how many people have stopped looking for work, you get the real unemployment numbers which are much higher than 8%
Happy Days are here again. All of our problems are solved. messia-bama has been in the Labratory and has invented a new method of counting, and the Fed still is the only buyer of his Down graded Bonds. This is such good news....
Exactly what did you expect this time...?. Exactly
You clowns know nothing about economy. And President Obama'a "stimulas" did create jobs. Documented. You just like spewing Fox Lies talking points.
And in case you didn't know it, which I'm sure you don't, the best and longest lasting economy is grown slowly. No "bubble". But hell, why let truth of facts, based on history, get in your way. You haven't yet. Just more "hate the President BS.
Larry,
I said Happy Days are here again. What do you want from me??
and fuel prices are almost where dEar lEarder wants them in California....and them oBamaPhones are coming in... Oh man Oh man, what else could be better???
Happy Days are here again... La A Laa la La LA...
Do you ever chech anything? It's been talked about many time in many outlets. That "phone" program was implimented under you sevcond god, GWB. Look it up. And if you choose to look it up also, look up why the price of ALL fuel is up. Actually, there was a report on that very subject this morning. But once again, don't let facts get in the way of lies. Just keep up you hate work.
This means so much coming from you Larry. You can't even spell or put together a coherent thought.
It was a stimul-ASS because Obama was an idiot for doing it. Also you are out of your liberal mind if you believe ANY president can "create jobs." It's not possible and both these candidates are lying when they say they can do it.
Is cheching anything like checking?
Keep believing the lies Fox News tells you doc....you are one of the many informed although I doubt you are a doctor at all....
Well maybe a doctor of bull scatology spreading.
bugsy. I'll bet you really think I give a @!$%# about what you have to say. Go check it out. It was not started under President Obama it was under GWB and for good reason. But you would know nothing about reason. And by all means, continue the insults. Just more reports to the vine community. And you do realize, by using this blog, you signed and agreed to a set of rules. But then again, we know righties think rules are for "other people".

Damn. Bubble gum again. Sorry for the multiple posts.
Don't you know the rules about content spamming Larry?
So please tell me where I'm spamming. As stated, that was an error of the vine, not purposely reposting. But you know nothing about the rules, you have violated several. But we know you don't care about rules any more than you do about people.
Just because I think liberal ideology is retarded doesn't mean I don't care about people. Hell, I bet we could even have a beer together and get along in the real world Larry.
whomitmay, if you are referring to me, DR, yes. Five degrees.
Hey Jenny tell your friend shooter the country will do find as long as we have a PRESIDENT who is not scared to defend our Great Country. We know one who shook in his draws when he was called, and a word to wise never disrespect our COUNTRY,it makes me very upset.
If Joe Scarborough can't explain what is happening with the jobs report, how do you expect the common layperson to understand it?
The top 1% may understand what it means and the unemployed person feels it but really doesn't understand it. What 99% of us look at is 7.8% unemployment rate is better than 8.1%! I'm sorry Joe is disappointed the jobs report isn't worse, but I'm more encouraged for the unemployed!
R&R go to a 5,000 person rally after the debate.
The President goes to a 30,000 person rally after the debate.
As a cautionary note, the public sector is still shedding jobs, though. 14,000 per NPR's Morning Edition.
This is indeed good news for the President, but I betcha the right is already screaming the numbers are rigged to make the President look good.
No, the public sector added 10K jobs. (I hope they were teachers.)
Don't get too excited folks.
On Jan 1 the Bush tax cuts expire. Low income tax rates will rise from 10% to 15%...a 50% increase.
A married couple earning $17,400 or less will get wacked.
And robme hood won't be in the white house as well just another bad year for republicans and their tea bagged clingons.
tell your congressmen to vote the right way!!!!! also tell them to just go to work they havent worked 12days in 2months
Personally, I will be glad to pay a bit more to live in this fine country, if the money goes to common good (not new wars in the middle east, please). Especially if I know that the very richest will be paying more as well.
m913, I agree 100%. Pretty avatar.
M913...if you are so willing to pay more to live in tis country, why are you not already doing it? Any citizen that wants to can very easily send more money to the government...
just saying...
No you are just lying again capt re reg. You can make donations that go to things that the government support like museums or the arts but you can not send the government more tax dollars then you owe. So you lie, but whats new.
Once again Whom, you do not know what you are talking about, but what else is new. I did not say anything about paying extra taxes, I said paying more...which could be a variety things, including helping to pay off the national debt...
http://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/pd/gift/gift.htm
It must really be a sad life for you being wrong on almost every issue that comes up on this board.
just saying...
wow..imagine that...no attempt from Whom to discredit my facts....
it must suck to be him...
just saying...
More good news
Employee portion of FICA payroll taxes will go from 4.2% to 6.2%.
Looks like all you Democrats are going to get that revenue you crave.
Of course all this happens AFTER Obama gets reelected.

How do those grapes taste, XE? Pretty sour?
Chris, Is this great or WHAT!!!!!
India,
Been a while since you been on a date hasn't it? Well I think you better ease back into the game, if this gets you this thrilled, a candle light dinner may be fatal.
Now y'all know its all going to be all right, the country is ready to blast off... oh wait we don't do that any more, oBama reduced NASA to a Muslim Glee Club. Well we are ready to heal up... Unless you get sick after oBamacAre kicks in.
Ok then we are really excited, the oceans aren't going to flood your home. Not that it ever was, but oBama claims credit for that as well.
This Administration is a bunch of Amatuers, they don't got a clue.
Are you a graduate of the Rush Limbaugh school of journalism?
Actually Texas Scarborough,#18.3
I admit to being a political junkie. Believe it or not my husband and I went to a candle light dinner at a fine restaurant this past Sunday evening. I had prime rib. I am still alive and well!
Every night is a date for me with this guy I married. Hey, after all, I am a Scorpio, if you know what I mean.
Good luck with your flip-flopping candidate. Who knows which Mitt will cheer you up next.
Or depress you.
India,
Had to give that reply a vote. It is a blessing to have a share in a great marriage. I have had that blessing for 30 years come May. 3 girls, 2 Son in Laws and one hot Republican momma. ; )
I appreciate you passion for politics, probably comes from the same place as mine. I want our kids and grandkids to have the amazing opportunities that my wife and I have enjoyed. My guess is me and you share that, but our philosophy of what that looks like is just different. But I wouild rather have a conversation with someone passionate about what they believe, even if different than me, than someone who doesn't care. I can't get that.
We have played the game as hard as we can, our business employees 30 partners. I have always, always paid for 100% of their blue cross insurance for my employees and their families. We share in our profits and consider our employees partners and family. I get so discouraged fighting to keep all this together, it is a struggle, but I won't quit till they kill me.
I don't want government to take from me the opportunity to do good. It is not their job and they won't do it right. The folks who are trapped in poverty with walls built of foodstamps, government assistance and oBama phones break my heart. I want to see them flourish, grow and prosper. This life is short and if we steal the opportunity for growth by protecting from risk, life will be meaningless.
So may God bless you and keep you, and may you Scorpio your man (don't exactly know what that means, but apparently you do) like no other hot Democrat Babe can. Keep eating Texas beef and lighting those candles. God Bless America.
PS: Still Hope oBama gets his a$$ packed back to Chicago...
Great comeback to such a classless comment India.
Texas Scarborough,#18.7
Well, thank you so much for the kind response. There is nothing like Texas beef! We can sure agree on that, as well as how a good marriage is rare and a great blessing.
I want you to just trust me for this one time when I say that Obama has your best interests at heart and I'd bet every dime I have on that being true. In any case, whoever wins, it is a beautiful country and both parties love it!
God bless you for being so nice. Keep that hot Republican woman happy!
BTW for us 34 yrs.! LOL Long enough to get it right! Ha!
Jajuan, Who asked you?
How do those grapes taste, XE? Pretty sour?
Yeah those grapes are pretty sour....but I have grapes, how about you Chris?
No thanks. Keep 'em.
what tex scar) worry about somebody date <<>>just like all gop you wondering about somebody date and next you be in their bedroom all in the name of freedom
Gjelly,
Ahhh... I am going to need a little help from someone on that....ahh... message. I am not sure, but are you asking me out??? Sorry already in a relationship.
But hey that was a nice thought and I like RG3, he is the real deal.
well it seems McConnell should have been working harder along with the teapubs puttin jobs jobs jobs ahead of making sure Obama was a one term pres........
those runnin on the GOP ticket are wonderin about that toooooooooooooo...........
(Sigh....) As I said after the debate...you can't loose when you speak truth to fiction. The facts of an improving economy bare out against the fiction of a candidate who determines each morning which side of his revolving bed to get out of. Wednesday Romney was almost moderate...5 months ago he was "severely conservative"....and don't get me started on his vacillation over foreign policy! Whew! He's got to be wearing himself out.
BTW - John Sununu is a complete idiot....complete and absolute. That's the nicest thing to be said about him.
Dubbs 3STL, #22,
You are being too kind to that slug slime Sununu. LOL
Obama, will have the last word. He just waited until after the debate.
Will the real mitt romney please make an appearance.
Easy 12, #22.2 "Will the real Mitt Romney please make an appearance."
Be careful what you wish for! LOL
There may not be a real Mitt Romney. There's a thought to keep us Dems. awake at night.
How are we going to know if it IS the real one?
Sure he will have the last word, after his speech writers tell him what to say and Romney isn't around to respond to it. Then he can get the crowd all hyped up with his canned bullsh!t and there will be nobody there to call him out on it.
Face it. Obama is an uppity punk-ass incompetent excuse for a President who looked like he was going to burst into tears or throw a tantrum when Romney was schooling him on how much of a punk he is. He's got nothing but lip service and the debate proved it.
Let me guess, I'm supposed to start frothing at the mouth in defense of President Obama because an illiterate, whining excuse for a human being called him names?
And there have been times I've thought my life was empty...
Gee Doug, I'm hardly illiterate and I am entitled to my opinion of the President regardless of how negative it might be. It can hardly be construed as whining in any case.
Not to mention that what I've said about Obama pales in comparison to some of the absolutely repulsive things you liberals have said about Romney - many of which I agree with by the way.
Obama is your president like it or not---------------BIGSBY
If the jobs reports would have been higher, the report would have been legit but since the jobs report said it was lower then the books are being cooked. When will an adult stand up in the Republican Party? According to Mitt Romney, the private sector make jobs not the government so what's the problem. What did he want? One of his FRIENDS doing the report like the firm the Republicans hired to do voter registration???????? Then I guess the report would have been legit.
my thoughts exactly Gladys well said........
can't wait for the teapubs Rush comments.....they oughtta be fun to listen to............
I've never understood that GOP line, "the government doesn't create jobs". Who do they think pays soldiers and marines and cops and teachers and firefighters and border guards and VA surgeons and astronauts and the President himself, for goodness sake?
All I can say M913 is the righties aren't too bright...they'd cut their own throats to prove their point even if it is a blatant lie (let's face it they back Romney the biggest liar ever running for any office. I call that really dumb.
Gladys Sterling#23~~Mitt Romneys' friend of corruption, Nathan Sproul, a longtime, notorious Republican operative, hired year after year by GOP Presidential campaigns, despite being accused of shredding Democratic voter registration forms in a number of states over several past elections.
The firm is not only tied to the Florida GOP, but also to the MITT ROMNEY CAMPAIGN, which hired Sproul as a political consultant late last year, despite years of fraud allegations against his organizations in multiple states
Moreover, the firm is also reportedly operating similar voter registration operations on behalf of the Republican Party, to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars, in a number of key battleground states this year, including North Carolina, Virginia and Colorado. Strategic Allied has recently taken steps to hide their ownership by Sproul’s notorious firm, Sproul & Associates
CORRUPT REPUBLICANS, have for years been fraudulently, claiming voter fraud by democrats, as a distraction of their own RAMPANT voter registration fraud and their own RAMPANT election fraud.
Great Gran,
Man you make Sproul sound real bad. Almost as bad as ACORN. Do they have offices all over the US like ACORN did??
www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm
No mention here that the same report states that 211,000 "discouraged workers" left the workforce having lost hope of finding a job. That means for every 1 person who was hired in September, 2 dropped out of the job market and are thus no longer counted in the U-3 unemployment rate.
Add to that the fact that Thursdays first time jobless claims jumped up to 367,000, and the fact that durable goods orders (future employment) droped 13.2 % in Aug, for the second month in a row. . . . .
Sooo, while this U-3 might not be "surprising" (though most economists had predicted based on the same numbers that the rate would go up 0.1%) it certainly looks suspect.??
to you guys everything is suspect even a Fox poll showin Obama ahead and that's sayin something..............
The only POLL that counts is the one on NOV 6th.....
So why don't you shut up until then?
Therealchris, LOL, Oh, I love to hear the wolves howl! Poor things are just so busy betting against Obama and the American people! I'd feel sorry for them if they weren't so hateful.
Meetoo, Exactly, November 6th! I can't wait.
Total employment rose by 873,000 in September, following 3 months of little
change. The employment-population ratio increased by 0.4 percentage point to
58.7 percent, after edging down in the prior 2 months. The overall trend in
the employment-population ratio for this year has been flat. The civilian labor
force rose by 418,000 to 155.1 million in September, while the labor force
participation rate was little changed at 63.6 percent.

TheRealChris: Why don't YOU shut up until then?
India LeCarre: and YES we can't wait until NOV 6th.......
Because I'm not on a right-wing blog looking for a fight.
Ditto.
if you like what we libs are talking about on MSNBC you can go back to fox noise where they hate the country ---------we at MSNBC are talking about ways to save the our country move forward <<<>>>rember it was BUSH and the GOP stole the money from 2001 tru 2008----------------do you trolls forget??? Obama came in office in jan. and settle in office about mar. with two wars----- job market at a all time low _________________and guess what!!! a man came long and said' ---------YES WE CAN and guess what---------- YES WE ARE
i forgot to say ==we will build this--------------------we the people will build this country up again <<>> forget the TROLLS that hate this country we can do it
Nobody believes these numbers, do they?
Also believe the "adjusted" numbers for the previous 2 months. Show us something that honestly discredits them. but hey, it's good news for the unemployed and the country, so why should we not expect the righties to say they're false?
I don't have to "show anything" it's common knowledge that people who run out of benefits aren't counted. These numbers only reflect that more people have fallen off the end of the conveyor belt.
In order to have common knowledge you first need to have common sense. Knowledge of addition and subtraction would help too.
Case in point - you probably believe that Obama created 5 million new jobs in the last 4 years too.
The only person that believes these numbers is Obama....... and his followers..
mc. That all depends on what "formula" they use. You do relize there are 3 differant ways of measuring the unemployment rate don't you? But please continue with you dislike of all us lebs, the country and President.
@Larry - which "formula" (bullsh!t) did they use to calculate (manipulate) your numbers?
This can only be accurately and truthfully calculated ONE way. If it could be accurately be done three ways then all three methods would be the same result. There can be only one true result and one true way to arrive at it.
Also - If I disliked this country I'd be with you voting for the candidate with a proven track record of FAILURE, who is worse than Jimmuh Carter.
Here's how much of a colossal FAILURE Obama is:
Mitt Romney (an empty suit with no personality) is actually a challenge for him and has a real chance of beating him. That is pathetic.
you still trying to get somebody to talk to you-- jr<<>> you not saying nothing
You not saying nothing neither kemo sabe.
Fire bad.
Maybe you should learn a few things. But you can't even remember the discussion a few months ago, on several channels, talkint and laying out the 3 differant "formulas". But you just like the country going down so you can get that nasty black man out of the white house. You care nothing that there is a great possiblity that 114K people went to work. It has no effect on you so you don't care. Self-centered greedy tight wingers. Forgot to add, liars as well.
Oh so calling me a liar is not a personal attack right Larry? In typical arrogant liberal fashion you want to dictate the rules to me and whine like a victim, then five seconds later violate them yourself.
114 thousand people are now working at jobs that don't pay a living wage and are working poor instead of being unemployed. There's a great possibility that's not much to get excited about.
And you know this how? Give some links, some sources for your hate and lies.
The numbers compiled by the National Employment Law Project are absolutely stunning. Most of the jobs lost during the recent recession were mid-wage jobs, and most of the jobs created since then have been low wage jobs. This represents a fundamental shift in our economy. Just check out these figures....
-21 percent of the jobs lost during the last recession were low wage jobs paying between $7.69 and $13.83 an hour.
-
58 percent of the jobs created since the end of the recession have been low wage jobs paying between $7.69 and $13.83 an hour.
-60 percent of the jobs lost during the last recession were mid-wage jobs paying between $13.84 and $21.13 an hour.
-22 percent of the jobs created since the end of the recession have been mid-wage jobs paying between $13.84 and $21.13 an hour.
But even the high end of the mid-wage pay scale is not that great.
If you make $21.13 an hour and you work full-time hours for the entire year you will end up making about 42,000 for an entire year.
Yes, that can probably support a family of four in most areas of the country, but you really have to scrimp and save to do it.
And keep in mind that 80 percent of all the jobs being created now pay at that level or less.
Welcome to the new U.S. economy.
So much for your theory that this is hate and that I'm a liar Larry.
And you putting something in bold face caps makes it so. Don't think so.
Bigsby. stupidity can cause just as much damage as hate. Willful ignorance is even worse...
Well Larry you could get your head out of your ass and look this up yourself but I guess it's easier to just call me a liar.
Not surprising I provide facts that Larry asked for and then and Larry and Dougie dismiss them. No doubt because they didn't come from the Huffington Post or the Daily Koz they are dismissed.
Never mind that I already said the President is not capable of creating jobs of any kind, nor is Romney for that matter. I don't know why you'd bother trying to defend a perceived economic upswing, albeit false, if Obammy has nothing to do with it in the first place.
Well, while the congress went home and didn't sigh the bill to help the vets. They do have time to take healthy lunches away from kids.
Parents should want their children to eat heathy, not just eat stuff that fills your stomach and makes you less alert, and makes you fat.
Pigs at the trough, Easy 12.
Vote them out. Put the bloody lot of them in the unemployment lines. No more economic terrorism from the T-Party idiots in congress.
The American people have had enough of this crap from the GOP.
So because Parents should want their children to eat healthy that reason enough to have the Federal Government tell schools what they can and can not serve for school lunches?
What about student athletes that require a higher caloric intake to sustain the calories they burn doing their respective activities?
Here's a wild idea, take responsibility for your children and teach them what a healthy diet is all about. Pack a lunch. Its absurd that the Federal Government should play any role in such a matter.
Better health when you are young and can create good eating habits, rather than wait until you are too old and too unhealthy to make those changes.
I think it says in the bible to raise a child up using good habits, and they will continue with him through out his life.
besides the government has been subsidizing the school lunch program with un-health foods for years, and Michelle is the first smart person to point that out. You and everyone else accepted those subsidises?
Easy,
Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child a]" class="footnote">in the way he should go,
Even when he is old he will not depart from it.
Beautiful scripture, that is the basis of our child rearing. It is not a one size fits all but if you will note, it is a custom made training, 'the way HE should go.' Our children are arrows in the quiver. As parents, relatives, neighbors and friends we are to help guide and direct the way that is right and best for them to go. You see it is our job to figure it out, work the puzzle, and get to know exactly what it is that makes this child unique and then we need to send them down that path. We aim them and then pull the bow back and release them toward the target. If we do our job, if we have worked to figure them out, they will hit the bullseye.
This is more group direction formed by Central Planning that is smarter than Mom and Dad, knows more than the local school board, has special talent that is just not locally available. This is Husbandry, how you handle herds of animals. I got an idea what they are training here is this.
But it seem so nice... We are going to feed the children... drink your milk all of it cause oh Senator Harkin says a pint a day to keep the Feds inspectors away. "Besides the goverment "(in your on words) "has been subsidizing the school lunch program ... for years" Implies... give them a little more of the responsibility that I had, trade freedom for security, let them Government folks do all our thinking. I for one want NO part of it.
They can take their FREE food (nothing in this world is free) and pack it back where it came from. I would rather go without than be dependent on the government.
Government, even Ummm ummm umm oBama can't do that.
Ummm can't do you're thinking without FOX?
TS, you do know that, under our system of government, we, the people, are that "government"?
By the way, just out of curiosity, how long did it take to cut-n-paste "your" post?
You know I don't watch FOX. Bunch is dumb as a BOX of ROX.
Now I do watch some MSLSD I mean for entertainment value its hard to beat. Ole ED at the diner saying the Man has to hire more workers, and going up to Wisconsin to celebrate the Walker win and who will ever forget Chris and Ed's melt down after the debate, classic. I mean you can't buy that kind of entertainment, Classic and Funnnnyyy. Oh boy and Madcow, she is a... i mean she is a she right??? and who can forget Olberman, was that his name. Now he was a trip wasn't he, I think he was shooting dope right on the set. What the heck is Keith doing these day, craachk or meth?? Then the famed socialist, O'donnel, he's... well you know.. not so entertaining, but I tell you what he can do well, he's like a gifted hypotomist - Put you right to sleep, it's amazing...
I watch MSLSD to see what the world would look like if you were a Lunatic. In that way it is very instructive and I guess you could say..SAD. Lots of Sadness over on MSLSD, little rigged polls, little chrissy matthews stepping all over everyone like they are ants,
But One Piece of Advice. AVOID MSLSD on the weekends. FOX is bad but we ain't got words for the weekend programing over at MSLSD... One would think that the inmates are running the network.
Doug,
You see the founders didn't see it the way you describe it. They recognize the need for government, laws and regulation. But you want just enough to create an ordered society, one in which you aren't robbed and anarchist aren't running the shop. But government likes to grow and grow, so they put in place the constitution so that We the People could keep government on a leash. And to get New York to sign the constitution they added the Bill of Rights to "double down" on keeping the Government from getting bigger and staying contained. That has worked well. You see Government isn't we the people, government is our servent, not our sheperd. It exist for us not US for it.
When you get to thinking that you are the government, well then your just another brick in the wall aren't you.
BTW, I did copy in the scripture, missed the note and it caused the glitch in the middle of it, but the rest is mine, all mine.
the way you talk tex -----------you sound like a founder with your old ideals about life
GJelly
I will take that as a compliment. Thank you. But (from earlier post to you) i still ain't going on a date with you.
Have a good weekend, and holler for RG3, he will make you RedSkins proud.
