I dunno, there's something to be said for subtlety in a caption-contest photo. This one seems to be pretty complete already, with no caption.

"Will the U.S. Supreme Court strike down affirmative action? We'll find out this term, with the justices taking a case on race-based college admissions policies. The oral arguments begin Wednesday morning."

And the repercussions of Gore not fighting in Florida continue. I think it's safe to assume affirmative action is dead.

Since this is an open tread I will post this from Demand Progress here. This is about the possibility that the Supreme Court will make it illegal for you to re-sell your stuff. I'm unsurprised that Obama would side with the movie studios and recording industry.

We need your help: Once again, the film studios and record companies that tried to censor the Internet are up to no good. The same business lobbyists who backed SOPA are trying to stop you from reselling most of the things that you own -- and President Obama has taken their side.

A few months ago Demand Progress -- joined by over 100,000 Internet users and a coalition of public interest groups -- asked President Obama to take action andprotect consumers' rights to resell their own things.

The Supreme Court is currently hearing a case (Kirstaeng v. Wiley) that will decide whether you have the right to sell your iPod, books, and other goods on eBay and Craigslist -- or even at your own yard sale.

But the entertainment industry lobbyists at the MPAA and RIAA have filed a brief in the Supreme Court mocking consumers' concerns -- just like they did during the SOPA Fight.

These special interests admit that they want the Supreme Court to decide against the interests of ordinary Americans and protect the music and film industries' "ability to control entry into distinct markets."

You heard that right -- Hollywood admits that controlling their CD and DVD markets is more important than consumer rights.

Click here to tell Obama and Congress to side with us -- not with big businesses that want to control whether we can resell the things we own.

Amazingly, the Obama administration agrees and has rejected the pleas of thousands of ordinary consumers.

The White House's solicitor general filed a legal brief rejecting our arguments and allowing big businesses to sue people for reselling their things online.

This should be the President's response to the Charlatan in a coming debate. "Governor Romney, in the course of these elections, you have revealed yourself to be a swindler of untruths and self-contradictions. You are without core and conviction, telling Republicans what they wanted to hear for 18 months then doing a complete 180 in our last debate. Your alleged health plan is to repeal what you claim is good in Obamacare, for months you promised to Republicans to cut taxes by 20% across the board only to loudly proclaim last debate that you're not cutting taxes on anyone, you reluctantly latched on to my executive order to grant Dreamers a 2-yr reprieve though your existing policy professes to have them "self-deport." You have so contorted yourself that you make a pretzel resemble a hotdog.

Mitt Romney after getting a MBA and a law degree, at the same time, from Harvard Romney took a job as a consultant at Bain Consulting.

Within 9 years he rose to CEO of Bain Consulting, while making Bain Consulting one of the most successful Management Consulting Firms in the USA.

He left Bain Consulting to form his own new company, Bain Capital, with the owner of Bain Consulting as a partner.

The plan was to buy up companies that are undervalued (usually not doing well financially) or are bankrupt; then through his management skills and contacts make these companies more profitable. Then sell these companies at a profit.

Over 9 years Mitt Romney had 16 major successes, and 18 minor successes (listed below the line), in many different types of companies in USA. He had 4 more major successes in other countries also. This following information comes from Wikipedia‘s site on Bain Capital:

Looking at these successful companies you realize that Mitt Romney has created hundreds of thousands of jobs. During the 9 years Bain Capital grew an average of 25 % every year.

During the 14 years his team looked at 2000 companies as potential acquisitions.

During 14 years he acquired 77 companies’ and terminated 17 of these companies selling off the material-assets, the businesses contracts, and the intellectual property. His management skills kept even the companies he liquidated in business longer than they would have been without his input of skill and capital. In 1990 Bain Consulting was in financial trouble and Mitt Romney came back as CEO to save it.

Mitt Romnie’s success is in major contrast to Barack Obama’s, who quit both of his first two jobs after graduating from Columbia University; each after only one year. Barack Obama may have had additional off-the-books jobs, but he chose to not mention them in his two autobiographies.

According to Barack Obama’s own autobiography these two jobs are Business International Corporation, and New York Public Interest Research Group.

Business International Corporation’s area of expertise is helping companies move manufacturing overseas, and move assets overseas for tax avoidance.

Don’t believe me, then Google the companies these two men worked for...

One example of the fact that Barack Obama is a total idiot is that he got a law degree from Harvard University, worth millions of dollars in a lifetime, and then had to give up his law license because he failed to pay 17 Boston parking tickets, because he described leaving the scene of a traffic accident in his autobiography, and because he admitted to multiple recreational-drug use in his autobiography. Lose of the law license caused Barack Obama to lose his job at the law firm.

The really amazing thing is that young voters are who elected Obama in 2008, did not realize they are the people who will have to pay for this vote buying sham the rest of their lives.

Barack Obama’s spending without a Congressionally approved budget has run up the USA national Debt five-trillion dollars in only three years.

Dividing that by a population of 300 million people comes to $ 16,667 of additional debt for every person in the USA. Barack Obama is taking every single person in the USA for $ 106 every Friday night for three years.

Applying the 5-trillion dollars to only those who 135 million work for a living it comes to $ 37,037 each.

That is enough money for all 135 million to each buy a “Beamer”.

The first two years Barack Obama had total control and Filibuster free control of both houses of congress.

Keep in mind that a few months ago the House of Representatives unanimously turned down his purposed budget.

Machell Malken says:

In all the talk about David Maraniss’ new book, “Barack Obama: The Story,” the chattering classes seem to have overlooked the most significant of Maraniss’ revelations, namely that the story on which Obama based his 2008 candidacy is “received myth, not the truth.”

“My parents shared not only an improbable love,” said Obama famously in his 2004 Democratic Convention keynote, “they shared an abiding faith in the possibilities of this nation.” This concept of multicultural romance shaped his persona and his campaign.

At the 2008 Democratic Convention in Denver, Obama leaped into the story in the very first sentence. “Four years ago,” he began, “I stood before you and told you my story – of the brief union between a young man from Kenya and a young woman from Kansas who weren’t well-off or well-known, but shared a belief that in America, their son could achieve whatever he put his mind to.”

As Maraniss concedes, these two young people shared very close to nothing. “In the college life of Barack Obama in 1961 and 1962,” writes Maraniss, “as recounted by his friends and acquaintances in Honolulu, there was no Ann; there was no baby.”

Although Maraniss talked to many of Obama Sr.’s friends, none of the credible ones ever so much as saw him with Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham.

One Obama friend, a Cambodian named Kiri Tith, knew the senior Obama “very well.” He had also met Ann through a different channel. “But he had no idea,” writes Maraniss, “that Ann knew Obama, let alone got hapai (pregnant) by him, married him, and had a son with him.”

Only Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie claims to have seen the pair together during the presumed courtship stage, but he is not close to credible.

“Maybe I’m the only one in the country,” Abercrombie told the Los Angeles Times in December 2010, “that could look you right in the eye right now and tell you, ‘I was here when that baby was born.’” This was pure lie, no other word for it.

A few days later, Abercrombie clarified to Mark Niesse of the Associated Press that he didn’t exactly see Obama’s parents with their newborn son at the hospital, but that he “remembers seeing Obama as a child with his parents at social events.” Another lie.

Maraniss should have quoted Abercrombie with the stated qualifier that he has proved unreliable on all things Obama, but he did not. Abercrombie was too important. Without Abercrombie, there is no contemporary witness to any kind of relationship. Maraniss, however, knew enough not to quote Abercrombie on his claim to having seen the baby with his parents.

Despite his Herculean digging into the dung of Obama’s life, Maraniss’ shovel comes up empty on the couple’s alleged February 1961 wedding. He footnotes his comments thusly: “Marriage facts recorded in divorce records.”

There is no doubt that both Ann Dunham and Obama claimed a wedding. It suited both their purposes, Obama to extend his visa and Dunham to legitimize her baby with a black husband.

As to the divorce, Dunham at the time was desperately trying to keep her future husband, Lolo Soetoro, in the country. The INS believed her to be married to Obama. Even if she were not married, a divorce would have been useful to clear the way for a marriage to Soetoro.

Like all other biographers of either Obama or his parents, Maraniss is totally silent on Dunham’s whereabouts from the February marriage to the August birth. He adds one detail, however, that deepens the mystery.

According to the birth certificate and the newspaper announcements, the young family lived at 6085 Kalanianole Highway where Dunham’s parents lived. Obama Sr. clarified to the INS that mother and baby lived there without him.

Maraniss definitively states that “[Dunham] and Obama and the infant never lived [at 6085 Kalanianole].” There was no room. The senior Dunhams shared the house with the Pratt family. The Pratt daughter “has no memory of the Dunhams’ daughter bringing an infant home.”

And yes, finally, an Obama biographer admits what the blogosphere has known for the last four years: “Within a month of the day Barry came home from the hospital, he and his mother were long gone from Honolulu, back on the mainland. …”

“This period, Washington State revisited,” Maraniss writes, “is missing from the memoir the son would write decades later.” In fact, as recently as Father’s Day 2012, Obama was claiming that his father left home when he was 2.

What Maraniss does not say is that he missed the Seattle hegira story himself in the 10,000-word Washington Post article he wrote on the eve of the 2008 election.

He was hardly unique. No one in the mainstream media wanted to blow the whistle on the fraudulent family fable that got Obama elected president.

The New Yorker’s David Remnick chose to overlook it in his 2010 Obama bio. The New York Times’ Janny Scott overlooked it in her 2011 bio of Obama’s mother. The Boston Globe’s Sally Jacobs overlooked it in her 2011 bio of Obama’s father, and the Times’s Jodi Kantor overlooked it in her 2012 book on the whole extended family.

Worse, conservative writer Dinesh D’Souza chose not to report the fraud in his disingenuous best-seller, “The Roots of Obama’s Rage.” As D’Souza explains, Obama was “his father’s son.” Dunham served largely as the vehicle through which the absent Obama exercised his will on the young Obama, she being “Obama Sr.’s first convert” to anti-colonialism.

D’Souza should have known this was nonsense. Conservative writer Michael Patrick Leahy had broken the Seattle story as early as 2008 in his book, “What Does Barack Believe.” It was accepted knowledge in the conservative blogosphere by 2009.

What Maraniss has laid bare, perhaps without meaning to, is a journalistic scandal of historic proportions in which, alas, he himself has played a part

Barack Obama actually messed up the mission that killed Osama Ben Laden;

because,Within two hours after Osama Ben Laden was killed Barack Obama told the whole world; there by depriving the US Military the time to use the intelligence information gained from seizing the computers, cell-phones, thumb-drives, and paperwork.

It also deprived the USA Military from the opportunity to see who in the Pakistani Government and Military would try to warn El Quida about the captured information..

Now Barack Obama has the Attorney General investigating Task Force 6-26 military personnel who used water boarding to find Osama Ben Laden in preparation of prosecution of these US military personnel.

Barack Obama is the one person in the USA who should be detained under the new NDAA legislation.

Look at his thug-bully army of Obama. The unions, SEIU, AFL-CIO, are one big mass of bullies. Chicago machinery? Bullies. ACORN. Black Panthers.
