I'm not sure Paul Ryan got the NRA memo about Obama and guns: "I don't even think President Obama is proposing more gun laws."

I invite you to come and read my piece on Big Bird, "We All Are Big Bird" http://nursingclio.org/2012/10/05/we-all-are-big-bird/
Awww... That was a Great Piece! Thank you for sharing. I feel the same. I also would like to stress to others some of the other wonderful programs that children will be missing out on. I remember such shows as Reading Rainbow, Bill Nye the Science guy, Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and much more..
Seems like maybe Mr. Ryan is getting pretty disgusted at the idea of playing second banana to Captain Flip-Flop.
Seems to me more like little Paulie needs a nap.
Didn't know better (smirk) sounds like Ryan is already running for President in 2016.
The entire annual PBS budget compares favorably to the amount of money we lost in equipment in one single attack in Afghanistan last month. How much does all that critical thinking and education that PBS gives our citizens cost in comparison to the daily war budget or the interest we pay daily on the Bush/Republican debt?
Gotta love how Ryan turns a question about gun laws into a treatise about how good, solid white folk have to teach character to the little savages in "inner cities." Yes, that's what I heard in his answer.
I heard the same thing, June Day, but I heard something far more disturbing. Terry Camp, the so-called journalist, let Ryan get away with it, and crumpled when Ryan accused Camp of trying to put words into his (Ryan's) mouth.
Camp asked Ryan, in effect, how Ryan's previous words comported with Ryan's then current words. Ryan feigned insult, but it was really fear, and Camp backed away instead of pouncing on him. This isn't journalism, it isn't reporting, it's acting like a lawn jockey with a microphone instead of a lantern.
We will continue to have lying and crooked politicians until journalist/reporters do what our constitution envisioned them doing. People like Camp will never be anything but empty suits in small time local affiliates until they show even a modicum of courage. He could have ramped up his own career by not letting Ryan go, continuing to ask questions, pressing Ryan even if he walked out, which would have been the story itself.
Someone tell me if I'm wrong. This gets me so mad I could spit blood!
@Sofferclese, thank you! Now, when I listened again, what I heard the reporter say at the end of Ryan's holding forth about inner cities was, paraphrasing, "and so tax cuts are going to get that done?" And that's when Paul Ryan became highly insulted. I've never seen thinner skin on a pol. I truly hope Biden is preparing as though he will be debating an insane person, because Paul Ryan's first instinct in answering any question is to flat out lie, then re-direct, and all the while look at the questioner as though there is something just so absurd about the questioner having asked that question. He really needs to be called on it.
Aurora, Colorado is "inner city"? Hmmm.
(this message is brought to you by Geography and Maps)
Exactly, Aurora. How Ryan redirects a question about gun laws which obviously arose from recent tragic events over to "crime in the inner cities" is classic weaselry from our good friend from Wisconsin.
"...Charities, civic groups and churches..."
These are the groups Ryan cites as key to teaching people good discipline and character. Conspicuously absent from that list: Parents, schools.
Rachel... You have turned me into a Political Junky.. I am hooked! When I'm not reading your Blogs I'm Going through the PodCasts of all the other wonderful shows on MSN.. I want to thank you. Living here in Germany now I don't get to participate too much. Thank God for the Internet!
P.S.
I even have a Twitter account now.. It all started with Liking a post of yours on FaceBook..
"Rep. Jason Chaffetz, a Utah Republican and Mormon, told BuzzFeed. “You can criticize Mitt Romney for a lot of things, but to attack him on his religion I thought was uncalled for and unfounded."
And yet Republicans have been doing that exact thing to Obama for the last four years.
It's only ok to attack someone on their religion if they are suspected of Muslimism. "wink wink"
No Regina It is only OK to attack someones religeon when that religeon wants to kill you if you don't convert. Lovely religeon Islam is. They are just misunderstood.
Hey Inspector, you may want to inspect your anal orifice, your head seems to be stuck up there.
OK 80s Trollup You seem to love to get off topic. (It's no wonder you can't keep a man.) Please take off that Obama ass hat your wearing so you can keep up with the conversation.
How was I off-topic? You made a stupid comment, I helpfully suggested that in order to actually participate in meaningful way, you may wish to take your head out of your arse.
And now, based on your latest stupid comment, I'll do so again: in order to participate in the conversation in any way that could be considered rational or purposeful, you may wish to inspect your anus as your head is definitely stuck up there.
That is the trouble with liberals/morons. You can say any hurtful thing you want and it is fine. If someone says something FACTUALLY ACCURATE. You get all pissed off and throw your unwanted and unneeded 2 cents in. You know? I really can't wait for the libs to allow sharia law to take this country. Then when you say something like that you will be well taken care of.
inspector
If you want to be factually accurate you might want to look into the history Christianity before you want to make comments about conversion or die. Also it's religion not religeon. Also you might want to read the Constitution sometime to see the whole idea of Sharia law taking over this country is plain ludicrous.
The Talented Mr. Ryan has got to be really cribbing for that debate. He's going up against Joe. Say what you will about him, I've seen Joe in committee hearings and Senate judiciary sessions and he's far from the buffoon people think he is. Killer Joe's comin' Ryan. You won't lie your way out of this one with a whole skin.
As a die-hard Spartan Marching Band fan, I do have to give the Buckeyes props for this one (although I don't believe this is a new show, I'm pretty sure I saw this on a gaming site a year or so ago). But I do have to admit, when they get Epona to run and rear... chills! I can't imagine how many hours they drilled perfecting that.
As a die-hard Hawkeye fan, there is no love lost for Ohio State, but WOW! that was amazing! Finally, band members can claim to be athletes! But, did I miss PONG??
When the police department of a city tells tourists to stay away, I am going to stay away. Detroit has always been a rough city, but without a motivated police force, that is a scary scenario (I have a friend that lives in the big D).
I did love how Paul Ryan immediately blamed all crime on the inner city. Dog whistle anyone? To Ryan's defense, that reporter did try to put words in his mouth by the last line there "so your going to do all that with tax cuts" - that was JV league.
Agreed about the reporter.
But, then again, tax cuts are only specific policy prescription that Romney/Ryan have offered. They've been vague about everything else.
Please, please, please take a look at this: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2012-10-09/julia-gillard-attacks-abbott-of-hypocrisy/4303634
Australia's (first female) Prime Minister smacks down her chief opponent over his sexism and misogyny. An amazing speech.
Those inner city people lack character that's why they're poor. Or put another way:
"I'll never convince them to take personal responsibility and care for their lives."
With all the attention being put on this portion of Ryan's remark, we may be missing the important opening he provides by saying the inner city must be given economic opportunities. I wish they had pressed him on this asking how he would go about this.
Would he depend on churches and volunteer groups?
Would he offer low cost loans to small businesses?
Would he further cut taxes for businesses investing in high crime areas?
What exactly would he support to increase economic opportunity and where would the money come from?
TRMS might want to emulate this...

Love you put up the marching band. I've seen it around a couple places and it's fantastic. The horse was the best. Lots of work for that performance.
Can we review the latest polls on likely and registered women voters? This has been a constant with TRMS and this blog. What are the Pew Research polls saying today? Please let me be of some assistance here:
Since September, Mitt Romney has made gains among women and younger voters, and has expanded his advantage among whites without a college degree. In the current poll, women likely voters are evenly divided between the candidates (47% each), while men support Romney by a 51%-43% margin. Last month, Obama led Romney by 18 points among women, and trailed among men by only two points.
Similarly, Obama held a solid 56%-39% lead among likely voters under 50 last month. In the current poll, Obama runs even with Romney among voters in this age group (46% Obama, 49% Romney).
Romney picked up seven points among white voters over the past month (from 51% in September to 58% now), while the horse race is unchanged among black voters. Obama’s earlier edge among college graduates (53%-42% in September) is now gone (48% Obama, 47% Romney). And Romney picked up nine points among voters with family incomes of $75,000 or more.
Obama trailed Romney last month among whites who don’t have a college degree, but he has fallen further behind in the current poll. Romney led Obama 53%-40% among this group in September but now holds a much larger 28-point lead (61%-33%).
Just an interesting shift in numbers I thought may be of interest to Maddow viewers and advocates of this blog. Almost like watching the Red Sox blow a 10 game division lead in September with the Rich greedy hated NY Yankees overtaking them for that coveted first place surge by October!
Top a the mornin' to ya'
Mr. Ryan leaves this person with the question of whether he would also include community organizers among his category of those whose responsibility it is to help re-establish the inner city youth of his discourse?
As for the Ohio State marching band--Very Good!
Amazing how good the NRA is at rallying their gun loving idiotic sheep. Amazing also how even the more reasonable members continue to support such a radical organization.
No, It's amazing how you can Call all gun owners "idiotic sheep" then turn around in the next sentence and say that there are reasonable gun owners.
Wow, how did we go straight to the Inner city on that question? Does Paul Ryan think that any of those crimes get reported anywhere in the daily snewz? And way to go with the tax cut question! If you can't stand the heat, get out of the interview. Love Ryan's response too about how it was "kind of strange, trying to stuff words into people mouths".. Ba ha ha, you can't script everything Mr. Ryan!! @!$%#!
Great, I'm finally over the debacle my Huskers endured last Saturday in Columbus, and here's a reminder for me of what happened.
Thanks, Steve.
Oh well, Go Big Red.
I think the better OSU Marching Band link is from the apparent video creator:

That is the exact same link I used.
Hey Rachel,
What is President Obama doing campaigning in California? He has spent the last 3 days campaigning there. Is California now a battleground state? Is President Obama now resolute to definitely screw up his reelection? He started screwing it up last Wednesday in the debates when he let Mitt Rmoney lie copiously, distort the facts and flip-flop without strongly calling him on them.
True reporting takes guts, something no reporter has in this day and age is guts. The reporter should say, "Don't be a a-- this is an election and I am asking you a question, so drop the attitude".
Here is the way for Obama to win the debate whit Mitt.... Get Mitt off his script. If he ad-lives he will say something stupid because he is stupid but a great salesman. We all know we can't open a jet window. Make a face at him, piss him off, or lie about his taxes. Say anything to throw him off and he will do the rest. He is not smart............ A vote for Mitt is a vote for WWIII, peoples lives depend on this election.
