Arizonans who went to their local municipal offices in Maricopa County to pick up their voter ID cards may have been instructed to go to the polls on the wrong date -- but only if they were looking for the information in Spanish.
The wrong date was printed on a document that contains the new voter ID card. The document lists the general election date as November 6 in English but reads "8 de Noviembre" in the Spanish translation.
A spokesperson told local station ABC 15 that they estimated fewer than 50 people got documents with the wrong date, based on the number of people who picked up their cards in-person in "previous years," though they did not say whether those were election years.

Yeah, this is a well-known voter suppression tactic. I live in Virginia, and in every election there's a story from somewhere in the state about someone anonymously distributing flyers in African-American neighborhoods saying that Republicans vote on election day, and Democrats should vote the day after. It may have only involved one person somewhere in the production chain and not higher-ups in the office, but no way this is an accident.
I live in Arizona, and I'd bet real money this wasn't a mistake. It's very typical of politics here.

It was fact checked right there (at the debate) by the moderator and proven that President Obama Called Benghazi a Terrorist act the day after in the Rose Garden and in the evening also. It's called thinking. Do you honestly believe those voter cards/info packets are printed in two different runs? One for mailing and one for handing out to people who stop by and pick up their cards personally?
This reminds me of the tactic employed in the 2000 "election" where signs were posted in poor Southern neighborhoods encouraging people to vote on Wednesday - i.e., the day after the election.

I saw Queen Ann in the audience, but as I understood it, Michelle was out in the hall with someone that came with her that couldn't get in. The chief elections official in Arizona is the Secretary of State, Ken Bennett - a Republican.
Bennett was initially appointed to the position by Governor Jan Brewer after she became Governor when Janet Napolitano resigned to become Secretary of Homeland Security. He later was elected to a full term.
In May of 2012 he requested verification of Barack Obama's birth from the State of Hawaii so that he could ensure that Obama could be included on Arizona's Nov 6 ballot. He claimed this was done at the request of a constituent, but that "he could not recall the name of the constituent who made the request."
Also in May 2012, he said, “I am allowed like everyone else to have my personal opinions,” and changed his personal policy to become co-chairman for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's Arizona campaign.
I'm not aware of any proof of impropriety, but Jeez Louise man, why do these guys put themselves in these positions!
In the Florida 2000 debacle, Katherine Harris was both Secretary of State and Bush's Florida campaign director. Elections offices in states need to be bipartisan boards, not the playtoys of party apparatchik.

Michigan instituted a voter law here. Having to renew my license I was sent a form in the mail, had a place for my change of address so I could change my address and voter registration at the same time. Fine, but when I got there I was told I had to fill out a new longer form even though I pointed out what the instructions said. Good, but I am disabled, I am sensitive to anything scented it gives me an asthma and I told the lady that and I was talking to here, I began an attack, her solution, go outside (100 degree weather) and wait, good idea, well the windows were tinted black, you could not see inside for the numbers which were situated in such a way you could not see from outside, so I had to keep popping inside or my ride, I do not drive, I needed a up to day license just to vote.
They get to 2 numbers before mine, I get inside and before I could get to the counter, not far from door they skipped to 3 numbers ahead, I quickly got up there told them I was the number before and told to go stand on this gray square, did so, people on that side of counter saw me standing there ignored me and one lady walked away as I was waving my arms to get served, she then proceed to call the 4th number, I ran up to her before that number and explained I was 2 numbers behind this new number, she wanted to know why I wasn't being served, I told her what happened, at this point, I am having another asthma attack, I needed out of there ASAP, and explaining why I wasn't served before was not helping me be calm. She quickly processed me, and didn't require a written test or the social security card, which I had to get a copy of because Michigan requires that also now.
I tried to tell her this system is not set up for people with disabilities. They could of put me somewhere away from all the people, instead of where I couldn't see and was out in the heat.
I write this because I feel, and I am sure you may not agree, but this is a form of discrimination because if I did not wait for 1 1/2 hours, I could not of gotten that drivers license nor my voter registration card thus making me unable to vote.
These restrictive voting issues are not legal, not for anyone, race, social status, disability, etc. The voting rights were in place so these should not be happening, but Republicans don't see it that way, and I live in a Republican state. All they see is people not voting for them, and don't think there are people who really cannot get to a place to get a license, and if you are poor, who can afford a passport? Making us also show Social Security numbers, this country is getting Social Security crazy. Our cards were NEVER meant to be distributed as they are now. SO of course people are stealing our numbers and I had mine used for someone's taxes, I had to prove I am me, so getting a replacement card was also a way to make sure no one is really using my number. All this so I can use my right to vote.
So, Republicans, give me a break, (my Gov. is Republican) and those seniors, those inner city people, rural people a break..In Michigan they closed so many DMV offices that I had to go 30 miles a way to get one. No buses go that far, so how are people suppose to document all this and get somewhere if they don't drive and rely on someone else? This is to disenfranchise people in all segments of the population but mostly in those areas where maybe their candidate won't get the vote. Is this now where in order to vote we have to vote one way or no way.
I don't know about MIchigan, but the rule here in New Mexico DMV's rule is that if you step outside for a cigarette, a cell phone call, or any reason, your number in line is forfeited. They actually pay some one to keep track of whether or not you stay in the room. I suspect that the only reason they did serve you was their fear that you were about to drop dead on them.
This comming from a state that wanted to stop poeple that "looked" like they may be illegeal in order to help them. Whats next handing out courtesy clothes hangers at an abortion clinic. They disgust not just 47% of me but the whole 100%.
