In 2004, a Bush cabinet official said job creation and GDP numbers matter, but "the stock market is ... the final arbiter" of economic success.
If that's true, eight years later, Republicans ought to be awfully impressed with President Obama.
Through Friday, since Mr. Obama's inauguration -- his first 1,368 days in office -- the Dow Jones industrial average has gained 67.9 percent. That's an extremely strong performance -- the fifth best for an equivalent period among all American presidents since 1900. The Bespoke Investment Group calculated those returns for The New York Times.
The best showing occurred in Franklin D. Roosevelt's first term, when the market rose by a whopping 238.1 percent. Of course, that followed a calamitous decline. When his term started, the Dow had fallen to one-fourth of its former peak. In 2008, the year before Mr. Obama took office, the Dow declined by roughly one-third.
In the last half-century, the president who's overseen the strongest performance on Wall Street was Bill Clinton. The second best? Barack Obama, easily.
As we talked about in April, this also suggests Obama is the worst socialist of all time. A soaring stock market, record high corporate profits, private sector job growth ... it's almost as if the president didn't listen to Karl Marx at all.
All joking aside, I don't consider major Wall Street indexes a reliable metric when it comes to measuring the health of the economy. Indeed, it's not even close.
But here's the kicker: Obama's detractors do consider major Wall Street indexes a reliable metric when it comes to measuring the health of the economy.
As long time readers may recall, the Wall Street Journal ran an entire editorial in early March 2009 arguing that the weak Dow Jones was a direct result of investors evaluating "Mr. Obama's agenda and his approach to governance."
Karl Rove and Lou Dobbs made the same case. So did Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Fred Barnes. For a short while, it was one of Mitt Romney's favorite talking points, too. Even John Boehner got in on the larger attack.
I don't think a strong stock market is necessarily proof of a robust economy, but I also don't think the right should have it both ways. If a bear market in 2009 is, in the minds of conservatives, clear proof that Obama's agenda is misguided and dangerous, then soaring Wall Street indexes shouldn't be dismissed by those same detractors as politically irrelevant.

And, by wingnut consensus, the worst before him was FDR. For saving Wall St he was referred to as "that man in the White House". Total class traitor, etc.
Seriously , if bush was in charge the last 4 years , the press interview would go
" mr bush , wall st is booming , home sales are coming back , profits are up along with consumer confidence and employment , after saving the american economy from disaster , you must be proud of these accomplishments this election season "
With angelic light for the back drop
Obamas interview
" unemployment is between 8 and 10% , why have you failed ? "
Please set me straight dems , I am VERY weary of blaming the media to much , I am open minded to corrections from dems here , as this campaign is winding down , this is just glaringly more obvious to me , especially in hind sight over the last year
I do not even watch cable news , I read some things on here and the internet , watch prime time news a bit , I watch a few obama speeches and he nails it every time , but that is about 3000 miles away from what my take is coming from the general public , and what little media I observe , what am I missing? I have seen one media person point out romneys policies mirror bushs , ONE ......
I should clearify that msnbc is excluded in that
I love this one from Department of Labor Statistics.
Reagan is the only Republican that did not collapse the economy for the last 100 years.
But Reagan gave Weapons of Mass Destruction to Iran AND he committed treason by putting military in charge of civilian air traffic control during the PATCO strike.
Hi Robert,
Ditto.
Hi Steve,
Thank you.
Hi Patango,
Ditto.
Re: Reagan ...
Another way of looking at it is Reagan and Coolidge are the only two republicans that actually served a full term and lowered unemployment while they were in office. But Coolidge was the lay-up for the Great Depression and Reagan participated in the Great Debt Explosion.
And raised taxes 11 times and the debt cieling 18 times. Unemployment rate was 10.8%.
If a bear market in 2009 is, in the minds of conservatives, clear proof that Obama's agenda is misguided and dangerous, then soaring Wall Street indexes shouldn't be dismissed by those same detractors as politically irrelevant.
Republican Rules clearly state: If a Republican President does it, it's good, whatever "it" is. If a Democratic President does it, it's bad, whatever it is, and it never ever gets better.
IOKIYAR
If Democrats consistently consult university professors so they can do the right thing ........
And if Republicans consistently do the opposite of Democrats ........
Then which one should you vote for?
It's strange to run on the same platform, for centuries it seems. There must be some kind of scientific data that would suggest that the World was a better place when we had a Democrat in office. You can't go wrong with a Democrat. It was a very popular saying in the 50's.
You have to go back to Woodrow Wilson to find a democrat that collapsed the economy.
Woodrow Wilson collapsed the economy by outlawing people that speak Spanish because his policies were aligned with the KKK (made Mexicans illegal by requiring immigrants over 16 to speak English, Hebrew or Yiddish).
Coolidge improved the economy by undoing the damage caused by Wilson.
The underlying phenomenon that improves the economy is a combination of increasing average education attainment and a positive flow of immigrants because that combination increases human capitol.
Presidents that reduce either one too much collapse the economy.
Hmm. It's almost as if the GOP is against Obama no matter what he does . . . .
Not good for governance or the country, but it does have the virtue of consistency.
But isn't it strange that a party otherwise so consistent would pick Romney?
“My dear, here we must run as fast as we can, just to stay in place. And if you wish to go anywhere you must run twice as fast as that.”
― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
Know where you are now?
SparkleMotion: where have you been? The GOP met on the night Obama was elected, and decided that he was going to be a one term president. The Congress has vetoed, delayed, dismissed anything Obama has done. Yah, strange to pick Romney... McCain would have been better.
This is a video you should be aware of:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rcyb0cDf4aQ
Read the book, if possible, before you vote.
Tonight, I am guessing that Romney will try very hard to instill fear in the American electorate. He will try to make you afraid to reelect Obama.
The Republicans have an agenda, and it will destroy this country as we know it. Sounds crazy, but the truth is, they've been at this for more than 30 years and Romney is their choice because he is a venture capitalist. They need him to carry this out.
Nothing almost about it. Teapublicans never let facts or reality get in the way of their opinions. Mitt Romney's only core belief is that he wants to be president. Nothing else matters to him or his party, even if it means making the economy worse to make the case stronger for their candidates.
Face it. Romney has no policies and his entire campaign is focused on attacking Obama as a failure and making all reports and facts fit that agenda. At this point it all blows up in his face because Obama has proven to be effective and successful against all GOP obstruction and all their attacks. Romney and the entire GOP should only be viewed as undeserving of any leadership role in our democracy.
Calling yourself "Pepe LePew" doesn't change the fact that you are still a skunk and you smell like one.
Republicans need to stop holding their nose because the Romney smell will never go away no matter what position he holds.
That's because President Obama is guilty in the minds of Republicans of one unpardonable sin: governing while black. If they could, they would jail him for it.
They consistently prefer "R" over "D," regardless of any other variable.
Mitt Romney will wind up quite bitter
When he finds himself tossed with the litter...
He'll end up without power,
'Cause he's smelling like Flower,
Bambi's favourite black-and-white critter...
And don't forget, Tagg Romney bought voting machines that will be in battle ground states. In other words, can win it, buy it. And I'm affraid they just did.
I share your frustration with mainstream media and I said this before but a large chunk of journalism continues to roll downhill so it needs saying again. For anything to change this new motto that journalists don't choose sides has to die, because if you're not letting all the facts and the facts alone choose sides, your choosing sides by helping whichever side doesn't have the facts on their side. It's not the liberal media bias that's dying, it's fact based journalism that’s dying. I still check in on cable news because I see the potential of this medium to reach a lot of people and there are a few good shows that do and even some of those that don't still have their moments. I have to believe that it's not the journalists, because like everyone driven to their passions they want to do the best job they can. Unfortunately, money in journalism has infected it the same way big business has infected quality music making, and the quality of everything else for that matter. I've never seen an election where the vast majority of a party's arguments (Republicans) are based on serious distortion and outright lies. The only option we have to change this is to watch wisely and bring down viewership so the money stops rolling for certain CEOs, forcing them to free journalists to bring back journalism.
Fair trade makes for fair profit, ask any Native American. Also, when you are in the house of Libra, balance brings much needed harmony.
"...then soaring Wall Street indexes shouldn't be dismissed by those same detractors as politically irrelevant."
That would be politically "Inconvenient"
But then so is the fact that according to that graph Obama out performed Regan and the worst showings were by Hoover and G.W.Bush
You are using a truthful definition not the Republican revisionist definition of socialism.
According to revisionist definition Socialism is any government with an African American leader.
Obama is a mixed breed ergo he is giving the African American community our tax dollars. No proof needed and no proof against this "theory" is acceptable!
FTFY
Didn't need fixing, D.C.
Note how well the businessmen did...Harding, Hoover, Carter and W.
Romney is no Herbert Hoover!!! Hoover was actually self-made based on mining using scientific principles. If he were running today, it would be less like Mitt Romney and more like Jeff Bezos running for president. He had a blind spot in that he had seen the free market be the solution for enough problems that he could not accept the idea that the free market wasn't the solution for every problem. Mitt Romney doesn't really have anything comparable to the big accomplishments under his belt that Hoover had before he was elected.
Of course they want to have it both ways. We all do. It is human nature to forget ones transgressions, and to never forget the transgressions of others.
Let your money speak for you. If you buy News paper. I have stopped watching anything Fox puts out .Drop fox.. I have canceled my Email accounts on Yahoo .This will show we support Obama. If the CEOs are going to use Strong arm tactic on thier Employees.By telling to vote thr Republican agenda or suffer .we can send a message of support of the workers by voteing with our money. Empty the pockets of the Rich 1% !!!! There are more of us than them.Strike a blow for freedom.Or sell your soul to the highest bidder and consign to slavery and oppression.Bigotry wrapped in prayer is still bigotry, so is Oppression and sexist chauvinsim .We will not be held hostage. Obama/Biden 2013
A question...
What does the Right Wing, most specifically Rupert Murdock, have to do with Yahoo!? How would dropping an E-mail account on yahoo.com have any impact on Murdock?
My account is on yahoo.com... I have never noticed a right-wing bias to their news... I don't believe I've ever bought anything from Yahoo!... The e-mail account is free, and allows me to access my e-mail from any Internet access... Since I no longer have access to a company account, I've found it invaluable...
The phrase, 'cutting off your nose to spite your face', comes to mind...
David, Hi.,
I think people need to be made fully aware of exactly how tied Romney is to George W. Bush. It is no accident or coincidence that Romney's top advisers are from the Bush administration. (Dan Senor, John Bolton for ex.) Romney has been chosen by the corporate elite to carry on the Bush doctrine of what author, Naomi Klein, calls Disaster Capitalism.
This disaster capitalism has been going on for 30 years by a "shadow" government who REALLY run Washington. That would be the right-wing billionaires and Wall Street. They have an agenda and they need a venture capitalist to carry it out. Romney, with his lack of morality and scruples, has not just the personality, but the BACKGROUND to carry on this agenda.
This election is not about "job creating" at all. It is about implementing a new world order which will do to America what their predecessors did to Argentina and Bolivia in the past (for ex.). It is about a world of the haves and the have- nots who serve them. It is a truly Machiavellian agenda and it has gone unchecked for years and years. Fear and shock and disasters are their starting point. Their end point is an America divided, not in half, but 1% to 99%. Believe it, because it is true.
Endless war is their business venture. Peace is their enemy. Lies are their M.O. They will lie, cheat, or steal to get Romney into the white house.
Romney thinks, since he makes the Big Bucks,
He belongs in the Mansion Deluxe...
He may think we need schoolin',
Who's he think he is foolin'?
All he offers is George Bush redux...
Good one, David! Keep 'em comin'!
Referring to my link above, in post #2.3, Be sure to watch party two as well as one. Just click on the top left square for part two after one has finished.
Just as presidents have little to do with gas prices, they have less to do with stock indexes or brilliant sunrises. It is stupid and irritating that voters so easily fall for the idea that they are reasonably related and judge politicians using these things as metrics.
You're right. However, the sheeple (low-information voters) aren't really trying to "think" and forget logic & facts -so they go with the loudest reich-wing talking points. And maybe if Americans hadn't been lulled to sleep with visions of "celebrity & fame = liberty & riches" the GOTP might not be in charge of the Congress.
It's not so much the "low-information voters" that hard to deal with. You can teach them like students. It is the "know-information" people. I'm referring to the people who "know" the information they speak and believe. Those people do not change their minds nor do they learn the error in their ways.
That and pretty much every UNDECIDED VOTER I have seen interviewed , at some point says ,
" OBAMA HAS DONE NOTHING FOR ME "
How the person giving the interview manages not to contort in some way after hearing this is beyond me
Let's not forget who owns the Wall Street Journal... Rupert Murdoch in case you forgot!
I am a registered Republican, but really a RINO. It never ceases to amaze me that how many educated and reasonably intelligent people I know listen to Faux News and Rush Limbaugh all day long. I pay most of my attention to MSNBC for one HUGE reason! The programs I watch on MSNBC fact check, unlike Faux News which just give unsubstanciated opinions of @!$%#ing right wing nutjobs (sorry). Not much is based on facts, or just taken out of context to suit their agenda. And MSNBC's panels for the most part include Republican pundits, not like Faux News which includes supposed Democrats whom have gone to the "Dark Side".
AK Fred, same here for news coverage. I only turn to Faux for a laugh. They are like children...but he hit me first!!..and petty in their arguments. They need to grow a set and give us a real issue to debate. Even my daughter's high school is laughing at Mittens and his class clowns who have no idea what they are talking about from day to day. All depends on who is pulling the strings behind his back I guess.
Thank you for your comment. I am so tired of so many assuming that MSNBC is the polar opposite of FOX. Hardly. If MSNBC is so liberal why do they have Steve [oh shoot I forget his last name] from the McCain campaign and Michael Steele giving commentary? Not to mention that Morning Joe has the biggest time slot on the network.
Steve Schmidt
I can't stand Steele. He reminds me of Willard because he talks over everyone, interrupts everyone and goes on and on and on and on with the same old teapub talking points. I like Schmidt because he brings actual opinion and viewpoints to a conversation instead of the teapub liars platform like Steele.
Former RNC Chairman Steele
Thinks the Right has major mass appeal...
He keeps filling the joints
With Right Wing talking points...
How much nonsense can one person reveal?
Today I noticed that a Golden Corral Buffet Restaurant that has been sitting empty for the past 3 years, is finally being built out and opening. I think that is probably a surer sign of a growing economy than the stock market.
Near us, the storefront that Safeway vacated when they built a bigger store about 5 years ago is finally getting a new tenant.
During a little trip we took last week, we noticed new residential and commercial construction, roadwork and notices of jobs available. All signs we're moving in the right direction, albeit more slowly than we'd like.
A huge store near me, a former Wal-Mart that closed when Wal-Mart built a super-store nearby five years ago, is finally re-opening as a TJMaxx...
By now we know that they will say and do most anything. No voter should pay any attention to them! Vote now!
They are out to undo the New Deal and replace it with the Bad Deal. The privatization of Social Security and Medicare is being brought about by the burst housing bubble disaster. This is disaster capitalism. Starve the beast, wait for disaster as the result of starving government, and when it happens, begin the process of privatizing things people would never normally allow for. In one country, they privatized the water supply, raised the price of water 300%, and made it illegal to collect RAINWATER. Romney is their latest puppet to implement the SHOCK DOCTRINE that is disaster capitalism!
Please, please wake up to the fact that Romney is not going to create JOBS in this country. That is not what he has been PAID to do once elected.
So now Liberals are giving Obama credit for stock market gains? Funny that you take credit for that, but don't take the blame not doing anything to improve 30+% home values loses, foreclosers, $4k lose in household income, $16T debt, $4 gas, Increase food and healthcare costs, Cash for Clunkers and the boondoggle Stimulus Spending.
So please share with us all what policies that Obama put into place that helped the stock market? The Stock Market/Wall St. that Dems blast for the cause of the recession.
You missed the entire point of this post. It was specifically stated "I don't consider major Wall Street indexes a reliable metric when it comes to measuring the health of the economy." The point WAS that Republicans attacked Obama when the market fell in 2009, but fail to credit him for the huge increases since then. I think anyone can understand this is a great example of the political hypocrisy that the political class spews on voters.
Very clear you didn't read or understand the point of the article. That is all.
You need to review discussions here and elsewhere about how the price of oil and gas is set. You also need to learn the difference between leading and lagging indicators. BTW, when's the last time food and healthcare costs went DOWN?
Failed reading comprehension, eh?
Perhaps we should write our posts in words of one syllable, so t hat morons like you who are functionally illiterate (as good a reason as any for why you're as dumb as you are) can make sense of them?
Although most Teapublicans can pronounce socialist and communist because they have heard it repeatedly on Fox and by Limbaugh. However, few can spell it and even less would be less would be able to define what either are.
Right. How about keeping Obama's plan simple?
"SPREADING SOMEONE ELSE S WEALTH"
"Stilling from the Workers and Giving it to the NON Workers"
You know, this is one of the dumbest posts I've read all day. Thanks.
Here is another simple expression of Obama's plan: stimulate when the economy is weak, balance the budget when the economy is prosperous. Sounds utterly sensible to me.
For a guy who is intent on stealing from workers, he sure isn't very good at, passing as he did the biggest middle-class tax cut in history.
Hey "taxpayer", here, have some more Kool Aid. It'll run through your system real quick and you should be able to urinate on any number of fire hydrants.
Of course your talking about when he managed to save and bail out wall st , agreed
>snark<
"Stilling from the Workers and Giving it to the NON Workers" (sic)
You mean like retired people? Veterans? Active Service military personnel? Yeah, lets give the money to vulture capitalists and coupon clippers instead.
The Quote of the Decade:
“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America 's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America 's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”
~ Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006
Now remember that the Republicans say the same thing, but with Romnesia or Republiesia they forgot who this was to be used against. Soon after this quote they recognized is as a good campaign idea, however they acted as though that meant that the economy should be wrecked so that McCain would get elected, and if elected could achieve their objective to destroy government.
But they forgot that Bernie Madoff was not a big enough fish to act as the fall guy, under estimating the Romney engineered economic collapse. Obama up set this plan, finally it came to them that if they used Obama's quote against him to run their campaign, then they could then make it come true by to blocking, stopping, sabotaging, stymieing, derailing any economic recovery, and that if took four years to do so they could achieve their objective knowing that the Federal Reserve would fund those four years
However by forcing the economy to run on empty on vapors for those four years, the Republicans have so undermined the economy that they are willing to allow Obama to be reelected, as long as the Congress remains divided and obstructing hoping to destroy government that way. As an alternative they are willing to accept a Romney/Ryan administration because when the undermined economy collapses under their reign the Republicans can still achieve their objective to destroy government.
In the meantime to assure that government is destroyed the Republicans will keep undermining the economy until there's no economy at all. This is a late diagnosis but RR once stood for Ronald Reagan who had Reaganeisa, RR now stands for Romney/Ryan. Again the Romnesia just make it more confusing, Romney was creature created from the economic book of horrors unleashed by Ronald Reagan/Donald Regan. Romney economics is just based on the marketability and evaluation of assets plus selective Romnesia, forgetting that those assets belonged to others. Romney identified assets, and then came up with a plan to buy them cheap, then immediately sell them to others at premium often before he had even owned them. Once Romney had left town money bags and all, the hollowed out companies looked every bit a Potemkin villages.
Only in the mind of a Mormon, could Romney create a self-fulfilling prophecy, capable of twisting the truth to fit an entirely new religion. The Romney / Ryan plan is not a plan at all, but ploy used by Republicans to destroy government by hollowing out businesses completely, oblivious or forgetful or disdainful of anyone who does not share their joint delusion. Romnesia is the mesmerizing affliction that combines empty economic ideas and nonsensical government destroying goals onto clear objectives, objective so clear that RR now stands for railroad, the same kind of railroad in Back to the Future that promises to reverse time itself. Mormonism came from a group of religious movements that included the idea that the world was to end in 1844.
What Romney and the Republican stand for is that if the all business is destroyed and all government is destroyed that the kingdom of peace will follow beginning Romnesia Era and the second coming of Christ will be Romney.
Ronnie raised it 18 times. Every President has raised it.
Romney raised taxes in Massachusetts... Only, he raised them as FEES, targeting specific groups, almost never the wealthy...
Romney Raised Fees And Debt While Governor
The roberts court insists you call that a tax sir , thank you for your cooperation ;)
I don't disagree with the argument, but I have a problem with the graph. Accurate data but misleading.
If you look at Hoover after Coolidge, it seems like the market just corrected back, because the bars are the same size in opposite directions. But 100 x (1+ 0.862) x (1 - 0.815) = 36.3. So the market was at 36% of it's pre-Coolidge number, not roughly equal.
Then 36.3 x (1 + 2.295) = 119.5. So Roosevelt got us back to pre-Coolidge, plus 20%. Plus, it's not broken out by 4-year terms. FDR looks like a hero, but that was 12+ years and included war spending.
By contrast, under Obama the stock market recovered to record-high territory (above 13,000) in less than 3 years.
No, it's broken out by "first 1368 days."
#16 apparently didn't notice the date of the quote. 6 years into Bush. I suppose this is when we hear all kinds of jabs about hypocrisy. Of course, lost on Troll1947 are the reasons for such massive debt. Equally lost are the recipe's the prez has proposed that the pointy heads in congress refuse to consider.
I agree the GOP shouldnt be able to have it both ways but since they have Fox News they can have it both ways and convince millions nightly
(Since all those in the Maddow Army are clearly intelligent I would love some feedback on this, thanks guys!)
http://refreshinglyrational.blogspot.com/2012/10/legitimate-voter-suppression-legitimate.html
Could you please report on the voting machines owned by the Romney family and their associates? This is a really big story that is not getting mainstream media coverage and could cost Obama the election. People are talking about voter suppression efforts. The voting machine problem is major too. Here is a link to an article about what I am referring to: http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/10/20/romney-family-investment-ties-to-voting-machine-company-that-could-decide-the-election-causes-concern/2/
Could you please report on the Romney family and associates buying voting machines? I have seen few articles about it, and it is a very serious issue, as serious as voter suppression efforts. Here is a link to an article about it: http://www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/10/20/romney-family-investment-ties-to-voting-machine-company-that-could-decide-the-election-causes-concern/2/
I don't understand why when President Obama said in 2008 when he was campaigning that it would take some time to get out of the recession. People forget and also are impatient. I think that we cannot get out of this recession in the four years that he has been the president. I really feel he need another 4 years to get the ecomomy on track. This was a bad recession and it just isn't going to melt away tomorrow. Gov. Romney I feel is going to take the abortion rights away if he became president, not to mention tax the middle class. I don't trust him. I hope that people will re-elect President Obama.
I wonder how many Romney supporters have watched the video about the results of his Governorship of Massachusetts ?
This is the man who keeps referring to 'my record in business and management' and condeming Obama for lack of it.
Viewing this as a foreignor I have to wonder if they even WANT to know the truth ?
Is it really too hard for them to accept a coloured man in the Whitehouse - I can see no 'logical' reason for their attitude ?
See logic below:
It happens in every election. The media reports polls, that are too close to call, even steven, and as close to 50.000000 and 50.000000 can get. That an election with as much potential information as is available can be that close if just not credible or possible, stupidity cannot be averaged that precisely.
How is it possible that a country of 310,000,000 persons cannot make a real practical decision? After several years of a multi-billion dollar election campaign, the issues and solutions should be burnt into our minds, but when we get within sight of an election the air is permeated with drugs. We cannot but rely on a single random vote somewhere to decide the course for 310,000,000 people with no idea is what is expected? It is much more likely that the media is milking the campaign cash cow to certain death, to take in as much cash from hyped horse race betting as possible. The closeness of this election makes the whole idea of an election ludicrous, the cash cow will win all and the voter nothing.
The pubic must be in some state of hallucination to believe that its votes are even being counted, decisions based on math, facts, truthfulness, likelihoods, issues defined to gnats eyebrow, solutions explored down to the atom in the four years is takes to put this show together. The tiny possibility that this election and every other election of the president are an exact matches before and election and a mandate afterward, stretches credulity. It would take little effort given the closeness itself to substitute the actual vote totals with artificial totals and then to claim by national conspiracy that the close election was decided not by vote by a corrupt republican mistyping the result a moment before erasing the verifiable evidence. What pollster's reputation would not be enhanced by 'predicting' the results of an election using the 'exact same set' of numbers previously manipulated and published in the polls. The poll calls can be made, and the results tallied to be ignored and reported to fit the future outcome and the outcome manipulated. The media in the days before the election dissolves into a noise and incoherent babble having no value.
The pollster who can make up, and report accurate data can just as easily forward it to vote manipulators?
Be this as it is, but if the sum, total, aggregate vote of 310,000,000 people cannot define a read decision; that can be called intelligence and be based on logical steps toward a realistic conclusion, or lacking information or facility to, by experience, to guess whose is telling the lie, then the whole idea that 310,000,000 minds cannot make a good decision calls into question how they get their shoes tied in the morning.
It is more likely that the media, pollsters, pundits are all purchased whole sale as puppets for the corporate advertising powerhouses.
The perfect game is possible in baseball from time to time, but the exactitude of a perfectly divided electorate when these important issue need to be addressed is not credible.
Its case of stupid vs. stupid the real winner slinks away unexposed.
What man could be more without direction that one who follows the stock indexes?
The man behind the plow knows the direction not from the plowed row, but from the last year's harvest, and the harvest year that wasn't. The direction is to continue to produce something, no crying for lost numbers.
I have a question how do the people that tell us who early voters favor get that information? No one asked me how I voted.
