These pictures come from early voting in Marion County, Indiana, on Sunday -- a "Souls to the Polls" day. They were sent by the office of Marion County Clerk Beth White, whose office in Indianapolis, our nation's 12th largest city.
This month Republican appointee to the local elections board again blocked Marion County from adding satellite locations for early voting. From the Indianapolis Star:
First, Republican Patrick J. Dietrick applauded the efforts of White and her staff to handle the crowds. Then he voted no.
"Satellite voting, conceptually, in our situation, is a solution in search of a problem," Dietrick said after Friday's meeting.
He noted other options available for voters who can't get to the polls on Election Day, including requesting a mail-in absentee ballot and requesting a home visit by election workers. Those alternatives, he said, are more than voters have in many states.
Clerk White reports that early voting is up 49 percent over the same timeframe in 2008. This time around, her office is the only place where early voting is allowed. To help with the crowds, she has expanded the hours so people can vote from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M., seven days a week. Early voting ends Monday, Nov. 5, at noon.

To Catholics, if you have always voted for the Republican ticket because you are Pro Life or it is because you have long been unemployed and you believe that it is Romney-Ryan who will do better with the economy, before you vote for the Republican ticket again, ask yourselves:
Why is the number one objective of the Republicans to make sure that Obama be a one time president, why not to improve the economy, why not to repeal the Roe vs. Wade?
The answer: Could be they are just politicizing or exploiting your faith. For as long as the Roe vs. Wade is in place, there is always the pro life and pro choice issue in politics especially during elections. With the pro life issue, the Republicans control the catholic vote if not the Catholic Church.
On the economy: it is true that the war on the middle class exists. After all, it is the middle class who put an Afro-American President in the White House for the first time in history. Having said that, do you honestly think that the Republicans care on improving the economy for the sake of the middle class? Do the Republicans care how long you have been unemployed? Why is is then that improving the economy is not their number one objective in this election? Why then did they said that, when the unemployment rate below 8% , instead of offering solutions or ways on how they can do better than Obama and help the middle class farther, they said that someone is cooking the books to help Obama win this election?
Republican Catholics and Republican Middle Class, ask yourselves:
Where are you really in the Republican Party's scheme of things?
Obama will steal the election if it's humanly possible. It's all he knows how to do. Cheat. Threaten. Call Names. And lie. He embarrasses this great country with his small-minded, mean-spirited, arrogant ways, and he has so weakened our stature in the world that a little country like Lybia was emboldened enough to assassinate or just plain murder our Ambassador. And our President Obama went to bed that night and slept like a baby for his fund-raising trip to Las Vegas after his photo-op in the Rose Garden. What a creep.
