If one of these folks confronted me, or anyone I knew, at the polls, the next call would be to the police to have them forcibly removed.

After having served in Vietnam, I find patriot a term that is thrown around rather loosely.
So I wonder how these folks are going to feel if Romeny wins and he then cuts their social security by 20%?
Can you imagine one of these geezers confronting a young African American voter? I don't think they will get the response they are looking for, rather they will be laughed at and made fun of. I suspect that if anything got heated there would be quite a few heart attacks in that bunch.

Hey, careful, now. I grew up with those geezers' kids! They're why I left Huntsville 44 years ago and never went back. Their studious and judgmental inattention to the non-Anglo areas of town helped drive me from Huntsville's largest protestant congregation. They are simply acting on a(n) (a)moral sensibility that never grew out of Alabama in the 1950s. I can't tell you the relief I feel seeing them no closer to me than my laptop screen -- even as I worry for the good voters of Ohio.
Insane folks.. for sure. Pass the word to them that West Dayton, just east of the Veterans complex, is full of really nice folks that would love to talk with them.. LOL
Last I was there, it was mostly a working-class black neighborhood. Fine folks, there. I know. Spent almost 2 years in that 'hood.
White Unreconstructed Confederate traitors from Alabama wouldn't have a clue what patriotism is. We'll see what happens to these senile old fools when they get to Dayton and they get their bus burned.

I think the term Alabama patriots is an oxymoron. Alabama still has an article in its Constitution that states it is illegal for Black and White children to go to the same school together.Alabama is a state that amended its Constitution three times to disenfranchise Blacks and they still try anything they can to keep them from voting. Alabama is one of the states that convicted people of being Black and then rented them to companies and kept them in involuntary servitude for years. They did this from the early 1900's until about 1947. They have had several referendums to change the Constitution but they always vote it down. It seems that republicans vote against their own self interests very often. Those people should stay home and mind their own business.
Unless they believe that their business is to get the black out of the white house!

The young people in Ohio will be thrilled. The 'closed mind" tour who believe winning by any means available is what matters. "4 dead in Ohio...4 dead in Ohio..." A song from not so long ago. Suppressing the vote and now comes the pressure then the voting confusion with mistaken mailers on where and when to vote.

EEEK! I was raised in Huntsville, Alabama (where these folks originate), and I escaped at 17 only to end up a god-forsaken (probably literally) progressive commie-pinko-librul with too much education. Ain't it grand that I've never once been back since?

I have always known that the IQ of Alabamians is considerably lower than even those of Mississippians and Georgians. (Inbreeding?) Anyone who would vote for that dork can only be intellectually challenged. My first criteria fir selecting a president is character. Romney has none. Obama has tons.

I must reply that I was raised in Missisippi and now reside in Georgia and my husband is from AL. We can actually read and write even though we are old geezers! We also have master's degrees and have lived and taught school in Turkey, Spain and Germany for seven years serving the children of our military.
The main point here is that we are both Democrats and will not be placed in the same category as these Alabama "patriots" who appear to be everything we are not.

I'm sorry but as an Ohioan, if any Southerner had come up to me in my hometown, and started telling me about voting for some billionaire to defend "our freedom", I would be outraged. How dare you. How dare you come here and tell me about freedom. How @!$%#ing dare you. Ohio IS Freedom. WE are the Underground Railroad - you know, the way TO freedom in this NORTHERN State FROM slavery in YOUR SOUTHERN State. Generations of Ohioans have given their lives to defend our freedom and build not just our state, but our nation. While your generations were defending the right to DENY freedom from those you deemed less than human, our generations were defending the VALUE of the United States of America which is Freedom. And if you can't understand THAT, then you certainly have no right to come here to Ohio and tell any Ohioan to vote for a man who sees 47% of this great nation as parasites.

Its great they want to be assist with the political system... But they need to turn the bus around and work on our on back yard first.
There not going to get a great welcoming when they go door to door, or make phone calls and they close the door or hang up on them when they say Hi yall, we want you to vote for Romney.
