In last week's debate, a voter told Mitt Romney she's afraid of going back to Bush-era policies and asked for some reassurances. The Republican insisted, "President Bush had a very different path for a very different time," before noting several issues where his agenda is indistinguishable from George W. Bush.
The next day, the Romney campaign started featuring Condoleezza Rice on the trail. Today, it's Dick Cheney's turn.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney is headlining a fundraiser for Mitt Romney today at Dallas Love Field.
The GOP presidential candidate's son will also appear at tonight's private event, to be held at the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field.
Also scheduled to appear are national GOP Chairman Reince Priebus, Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer and political pundit Glenn Beck.
Romney's son Josh will be on hand for the event, and Paul Ryan will appear via video.
First, I'm sure Team Romney will be glad to get the $2 million the fundraiser is expect to bring in, but Cheney's efforts don't exactly reinforce the notion of Romney breaking with his party's failed past.
Second, Glenn Beck? Really?

Does anyone else notice how much Dick Cheney looks like Gandalf?
Although he reminds me more of Sauron.
Saint Dick.
Muss up what little hair he has left and he'd look more like Gollum with the matching temperament!
do you mean gollum, or maybe wormtounge?
yes - Gollum. My bad.
Typical Romney "FLIP FLOPPING" he stated to a woman undecided on voting for him that he has a completely different path then George Bush. Yet, here he is using Rice and Cheney! What a flipflopper! How can this guy be trusted when he plays every angle just to get elected. Nobody really knows what he stands for??
I demand you to take that back. That is an insult to Gandalf.
Saruman. He's got the right temperament for the part, too.
...maybe Cheney will take Mitt hunting with him before the election...you can only hope! lol...
Well if we are being childish......... how about Jack Welch looking like an Orc
What is this WORLD coming to!!! when I last checked, I thought we were in land of the free? I cannot understand why a CANDIDATE with such extreme views is being considered to be a Commander In Chief...? I certainly do not feel comfortable to empower a CANDIDATE that places FEMALES in the back seat, to not even trust them to make decisions about their own lives? Oh to add further insult to injury, WOMEN of today, you may be more productive, assertive and hard working--- but you DON'T DESERVE TO PAID EQUAL WAGES? WTF!!!!
Especially, when his campaign message could not be more obvious
I was going to say he looks like the vampire in the silent film NOSFERATU.
Any port in a storm, right? Even if it's a cesspool?

The right wing has lost the election of 2012.
The evidence for this is overwhelming, yet it is
the year’s best-kept secret. Mitt Romney would not be throwing virtually all of
his past positions overboard if he thought the nation were ready to endorse the
full-throated conservatism he embraced to win the Republican nomination.
If conservatism were winning, does anyone doubt
that Romney would be running as a conservative? Yet unlike Ronald Reagan and
Barry Goldwater, Romney is offering an echo, not a choice. His strategy at the
end is to try to sneak into the White House on a chorus of me-too’s.
The right is going along because its partisans
know Romney has no other option. This, too, is an acknowledgement of defeat, a
recognition that the grand ideological experiment heralded by the rise of the
tea party has gained no traction. It also means that conservatives don’t believe
that Romney really believes the moderate mush he’s putting forward now. Not to
put too fine a point on it, but if the conservatives are forgiving Romney
because they think he is lying, what should the rest of us think?
Almost all of the analysis of Romney’s highly
public burning of the right’s catechism focuses on such tactical issues as
whether his betrayal of principle will help him win over middle-of-the-road
women and carry Ohio. What should engage us more is that a movement that won the
2010 elections with a bang is trying to triumph just two years later on the
basis of a whimper.
It
turns out that there was no profound ideological conversion of the country two
years ago. We remain the same moderate and practical country we have long been.
In 2010, voters were upset about the economy, Democrats were demobilized, and
President Obama wasn’t yet ready to fight. All the conservatives have left now
is economic unease. So they don’t care what Romney says. They are happy to march
under a false flag if that is the price of capturing power.
E. J. Dionne is right. The Republican lies have lost out to the Democrats' truth. One evidence that maybe even the Romney campaign knows that is where Ryan is campaigning -- in the South, the Red (until now) States. Why would Ryan be sent to where there are the most anti-abortion Republicans? To shore up the base. Ryan is not hiding out, he is trying to get the base fired up and turn out at the polls. Remember that the Republican primaries had record low turnout in state after state. Maybe the Romney campaign polling shows that they may do the same on November 6. Could it be that some of the "red" states will turn "blue" this election?
I'm sure they'll be talking about marriage equality . . . .
... or strange bedfellows ...
Ewwweeeuu ICK ICK ICK
I am not going to be able to eat for a week!
Another extremely greedy man. Don't they know that the poor of this world have been appointed to judge all of us. Yes, the poor will inherit this Earth because they are the ones taking care of it, the maids, the janitors, the farmers, and don't forget the street sweepers who did their job well.
Who do their jobs with pride, and for little pay or respect!!!
Shame to see a hero like Dakota Meyer being used for political gain. But the GOP has proven time again that there is no rock they won't squeeze to get
bloodmoney out of.How the hell did Glenn get a speaking spot at this gig days after tweeting "I am glad to know that mitt agrees with Obama so much. No, really. Why vote?"
Mitt's the forgiving sort and Beck needs the attention. Great pair, aren't they!
not so much forgiving as able to every possible position simultaneously, or rather, whatever is politically expedient.
glenn called him and said the exact opposite thing 5 minutes later , so romney could relate to it then
filthly millionars - Cheney - Haliburton / Romney $$$$$
This is like the opposite of the Three Graces. And I'd call them the 3 Stooges, except that nothing about this is funny.
Glenn Beck is a "political pundit"??? WTF??
I thought he was a certifiably insane "entertainer."
Glenn Beck is a "political
punditpuppet!"??? WTF??Fixed that for you.
ddefinition of a pundit: a person who makes comments or judgements, especially in a authoritative manner; critic or commentator....
I think that fits the bill, but it doesn't specify insane.
On another note... I can't help but wonder what it would be like to be present at this affair. What's the vibe like? Are they inified just for the cameras? Are they competetive, like mine is bigger than yours?
Get your mnd out of the gutter. I was talking about bank accounts!
..holy crap...
Globalove, another cocktail?
Don't mind if I do!
(I meant unified for cameras... and mind out of the gutter)
You Know?? I never trusted Glen Beck and don't consider him political
in a bug crawl contest....
This is like the polar opposite of the Three Graces. And I'd compare this trio to the 3 Stooges, but nothing about this is funny.
I thought for a minute it was going to be the old joke..."a liberal, a republican and a tea partier walked into a bar and the bar tender said...Hello Mitt."
McCain, Lieberman and you know who always bring the same response so when anyone mentions Cheney, Rice and Rumsfield (or in this case Beck the insane for money pubic er pundit) I get the same taste in my mouth...like I'm going to vomit. The first two should be in prison and the last one should be in a mental institution. Nothing they have to say has any validity or credibility so it figures they should be prominent in the Romney/Lyin Ryan campaign...such an American embarrassment...fogive us world but they are why you deserve an apology.
The name Reince Prebius should say it all.
But Dick Cheney has a heart now; he's bound to be different. :-/
Dick Cheney will spend his billions to make sure he never dies. There is just no way he's gonna go where he knows he belongs.
I wonder if he interviewed the donor to make sure it was evil enough to put in his chest?
What a waste of some poor guy's heart. I always wonder how a man could be given another chance and use it like this. If he IS a christian, it's very telling how he is using his "GOD" given second chance.
Many times, when a loved one dies and their organs are donated to help another live, the family finds solace knowing that their beloved lives on in some way through the recipient of the donor gift. How in the world can the family of this loved one find solace in the actions of Dick Cheney???
Irrelevant bigots and thugs: Mitt Romney, Cheney, Beck, Priebus, Josh Romney. Who cares what Cheny and Beck have to say?
Looking at Dick I was reminded of Senator Palpatine from the Phantom Menace, and the shivers that ran down my spine left me chilled, chilled I say!
Yet another reason that Robme should never, ever, ever, be considered as ready for prime time leadership, just look at who he "pals around with" war-mongering criminals!
I wonder if they are all mormons.
Did you mean Morons? LOL
No, but at least one of them is a war criminal.
At least former Vice President Cheney knew/knows the difference between the states and when he might be in Ohio as apposed to being in Iowa. I can hear VP Biden now, I am so glad to be here in the great state of Oklahoma, home of the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Umm, no Mr Vice President, this is Dallas Texas, home of the DALLAS Cowboys. You know sir, the ones with the cheerleaders and all that history?
Besides, there are MANY of us who miss Bush Cheney. They were FAR BETTER years than the past four.
Second, Glenn Beck? Really?
Why YES, he is a FAR more reputable political pundit that YOUR boss pal. :-) At least he tells the truth.
Hey anyone else downloading Windows 8 today? I am right now.
Pat: Does that pinpoint accuracy on State identification carry over to say... shotgun discharge???
You're a terrible troll. You leave no premise, no hook for someone to fall for.
Bad troll! Back to your bridge.
Cheney didn't know the difference between a bird and a man's face. You want to turn this into a list of stupid things said by pundits? I assure you sir, the list under romney/ryan/et el will be faaaarrr longer. Those who miss bushbaby and chachingney are brain dead zombies who would willing drool and drag themselves into a burning building if asked. And now the gop IS asking us to walk into a burning building with their begging to be voted for ... bushbaby years weren't better, were you brain dead for the first eight years of this century? Beck hasn't told the truth since the day he turned 10. Keep him, you deserve the low life, belly dragging scum.
Lebowsky Dude, you are correct we should credit Biden where at least he DOES know there are 50 states unlike our President Obama who thinks there are FIFTY SEVEN 57 states! But then again, at least Obama can describe what "air carriers are, you know where planes fly onto and land on". Yet it does appear he has no knowledge of the fact that such aircraft carriers need several supporting ships etc in order to conduct their designed purpose. But who cares, we have thousands of "CORPESMEN" to do whatever to make sure the carriers and planes/jets operate correctly. hahahahahahahahaWe do know thanks to Al Gore that it is a very good thing the White House isn't in Denver where the altitude can scramble the presidents ability to perform. Although there is argument that perhaps the altitude in DC does affect his abilities where the economy is so bad after four years!
shutgun discharge, umm hunting is a sport. VP Biden's gaffe perhaps are "sport" for all to laugh at??? At least Ryan knows the diff between Ohio State vs Wisconsin and where each team plays their home games. In what state and where each state is when he is IN that state. Biden would be traveling to Iowa to see the Ohio State Buckeyes play a HOME game vs Penn State.
Ummm Atlantian, I can't claim any bridges, as the President and that goof ball Liarwatha Warren have said, "You didn't build that, someone else built the roads and bridges FOR you." So your business would flourish. So I own no bridges. I can claim NO bridge as my own.
I leave no hook, ............. no I am waiting for Romney Ryan to deliver that HOOK to knock out Obama. Take out a "One trick Pony" (Hope & Change) with a solid left to the snarky smile that'll be wiped off November 6th. (figurative speech here so don't get carried away fella.)
Anyway, anyone downloading Windows 8?
alls irishsplat has is a mistake about what state biden is in , and mr DEFICITS DONT MATTER SO LETS CUT TAXES should be reelected again , you are really bad at trolling , best you find another worthless hobby like alter boy for your catholic perv leaders
Those who miss bushbaby and chachingney are brain dead zombies who would willing drool and drag themselves into a burning building if asked.
Sounds more like the SEIU and other Union Thugs seen across the street from any Republican's rally chanting their (well paid for hourly wage to be there) slogans and nasty dirty rants. Yup, brain dead zombies, Union Thug Artists supportiing Obama and other democrat candidates. Great discription you give Bikerbabe
Thanks for the visual but I have seen the videos of these thugs.
Pat: Do you have a PHD in Gaffeology? When your beliefs and ideaology are wildly unpopular, gaffes are handy to point out. You wingnuts stick to Romney the shapeshifter like glue, and you give the boy wonder Ryan an even bigger break on his crazy views. I miss the good old days when rank hypocrisy carried a stigma. You folks wear it like a badge of honor.
Yes the Bush years were great. Financial meltdown. 2 wars, 1 to take out the terrorists who were able to hit the WTC on 9/11 which they never did. When, if Bush had listened to the CIA might have prevented that attack. And 1 war just to do something his father was smart enough to stay away from. He was great during the Hurricane that devastated New Orleans and he provided relief just a weeks later. What a humanitarian. A man who spent more time on his ranch than he did in the oval office. A man who allowed torture of prisoners at Gitmo. up what a great president.
Sir Dude,
47 47 is even. So wildly unpopular is a nominal value I guess. Take a look at the polls. They are even. 50 50. If your thought were true then having the football on the 50 yard line would be being in the RED ZONE.
Call me a "single wing" wingnut. I like the playbok we have. It works and we are marching the ball up and down YOUR home field all day.
They are planning their next war like they did before GWB took office.
That's so scary but very plausible.
Actually, it's the truth. They took a four year hiatus (did nothing to help the country and much to harm it) to let 'the black man take the blame for the economy and the idiots will vote us in faster than we can set the barn on fire!' (not a true quote, meant to make no mistake it's not my voice). But, the plans to turn this into a plutocracy have been in the plans and worked on continuously since about the '70's.
Shady Cheney evil man has a lot to answer to at the Pearly Gates OH ! I forgot he is going in the other direction with Rumsfeld :~)
If only bad things happened to bad people but, they don't always. Not often, actually. And we all die. That is it. No answering for what we've done, good or bad. We just die and it's what we leave behind that matters, not where we wish we or others would go after death.
So be careful what you teach your children ....
Is it "De Ja Vu" or a "Dire Warning"? Either way Be afraid of a Romney White House! Be VERY Afraid!
I am astonished that this election is this close with the lack of truth, lack of integrity, lack of knowledge by the Republican nominee and his reunningmate.
It's because true blue republicans will vote their party no matter what and they tend to stick to one news source and believe all they are told without checking if it's true. romney/ryan know this and as long as they stick to the lies their voters will never question them and vote in their favor like the good brainless mob they are.
These voters just pretend the bad stuff never happened , and the next bad thing will not happen either , but pretending 9/11 and the iraq debacle etc etc never happened boarders on being pretty much psychotic ..... my sister and friend are very smart and sane , they will vote romney , but you can not bring these subjects up to them , they get way to uncomfortable , and why wouldn't they?
Not to mention insulting SO MANY of US, Floridian.
Ah, memories of the good old days.
So Dick says, "What's this I've been hearing about women being able to shut this thing down?" A Democrat overhearing whispers, "this thing is the Romney campaign!"
Wow, the circus is at Love Field tonight?
Title--The Devil Does Dallas? Field of Nightmares? Hate goes to Love Field?
I cannot understand anyone running for office today bringing Dick Cheney or Glenn Beck to bear for them. And as for Rinse Pubis.............sorry, I'll never be able to use his real name - this suits him so much better.
I kind of like Rancid Pubis, the name not the guy.
And everything Willard answered to that woman in that debate was the same exact thing that Dubya had said. That is so different. The people of Reagan, Bush I and Dubya working for Willard and pushing the same policies. Yep. That is soooo different.
