Tonight's guests include:
Frank Rich, writer-at-large for New York Magazine
Chris Hayes, host of “Up with Chris Hayes” weekends on MSNBC
Here's the song of the evening!
And here's executive producer Bill Wolff (with some sweet kicks) to share a preview of tonight's show:

I vOted tOday and got home just in time to watch Pres. Obama vote and open my mail. I got a letter from my health insurance company notifying me that my monthly premium is going down because Obama care(s) has eliminated the need for some of the administration fees my company used to have to charge me for. Add this to the check I got back from them because Obama care(s) makes sure they pay 80% of the money they bring in on actual health care and if they don't they have to send us a refund check. For this and all the other work you do, thank you Mr. President, you got my vote.
Sound bite political commercial.
The above message from rusty was brought to you by the Koch suckers of America or better known as Mitt wits. The opinions found in this message is not meant to be factual or based in reality. Remember the Koch brothers say "misinform your neighbors so they believe that they need Mitt approved ID to vote".
Cute, whom. I just have to wonder if any left wing elementary teacher has assigned students to read msnbc blogs in order to learn about American politics. That aside, the censors and blog police have given up any right to restrict anything said on these blogs if they leave you're stand. A swell, there should be no outrage from any leftist to any goofy writings from a right wing zealot. I would describe you as a boorish little old lady who most Likely doesn't have even a tiny bit of class. I do think I'll copy your writings. They might come in handy ad proof msnbc allows any and everything from the left if the should ever reject the opposition.
Well rusty I try to make my posts at the Mitt wits level of education, after all rusty it is rather childish to be a Mitt supporter, Mitt wit, posting on a blog provided by and hosted by people you dislike in order to talk about topics from liberal shows. The reason we are not at right wing sites is because 1) we are not welcomed because righties don't want to hear facts 2) We don't want to discuss policies with people who have no clue as to what policies the GOP have used in the past, really you Mitt wits all believe the economy didn't get bad until June of 09, 3) you don't listen like most kids you keep on repeating the same lies. Again rusty where does it state that these blogs wanted to discuss GOP talking points and misinformation. Ed's blog, Maddows blog and all the rest of the liberal blogs on vine states the blogs were created to discuss topics on what the Shows talked about. You made that up in your own mind so you could play victim when called on your deception. Childish behaviors get childish responses because you are not grown up enough to understand adult discussions.
Just 'cause a dog barks, don't mean you got to bark back. Never argue with an idiot/never try to teach a pig to sing. It just irritates the pig and wastes your time.
Yep. I see 5 liberals also think on you level. Guess that's how bill Clinton gets great acceptance, and Anthony weiner. Still can't believe msnbc will allow it. They should never reject anything. Except, in that it proves they are hypocrites if they reject anything else.
So I am sitting here watching Chuck Todd as the mediator of the Brown/Mandel debate here in Ohio. Josh Mandel should have just recorded his first debate, and replayed it. He has done nothing, but once again dodge questions, and repeat himself...Isn't it past his bedtime? Well gotta go I don't want to miss another political commercial, or political call...Don't envy Ohio right now.. Seriously... GO Sherrod!!!!!!!!!!
This Mourdock-Romney ad from the Obama team is getting a lot of play, but I am surprised none of the pundits who hang with art majors have commented on the Matrix leitmotif suggested by the green color balance shift they did on it. It telegraphs a message about the unreality of RomneyWorld- a dystopic vision for America that citizens ought to recoil from.
The literature of politics is seldom given adequate treatment in the media.
In his own words:
"On Feb. 2, 2009,
President Barack Obama explained his chances to fix the economy to host Matt Lauer on NBC's "Today" show: "I will be held accountable. I've got four years. … If I don't have this done in three years, then there's going to be a one-term proposition." According to Obama, himself, words mean something. He has made his entire political career using carefully chosen words.
One more example of a politician flip flopping. I'm sure he misspoke.
metoo99 -- Ah, but he was not anticipating the blocking of everything by the Republican house . . . Guess he never thought those representatives would do the dirty and hurt America.
God, Mom, and apple pie -- but not one vote for anything that could help their fellow Americans, or, in other words, anything that could possibly help the President.
Silly of him not to expect that Republican ploy, isn't it?
Uhm, no lady. That is a goofy premise on your part. Lots of liberals have cut and pasted this long list of Obama accomplishments. Afraid you can't have it both ways.
Ahoy, Rep-wanna-be Mourdoch, say again? "God loves the Rapist...oops...God loves what the Rapist done." Maybe, tomorrow he'll say, "I regret that my poor choice of words may have caused some people to understand what I said."
Some of my facebook friends and I are trying to get this out there hoping to get some legs underneath it. Please pass this around to everyone you know and hopefully Rachel and her people will see this and get it on air.

Thank you in advance. We all need to work hard to make sure that this election is fair and that the will of the American people is upheld and not stolen from us yet again.
Hi Rachel, on last night's show you had trouble keeping Ohio and Iowa separate. It reminded me of a song that will drive you mad done by Heywood Banks, enjoy!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg_kYRM1eLc
Rachel was talking about why WI voters seemed split, & I remembered an article in this week's (10/25-10/30/12) The Cap Times (of Madison, WI), by Jessica VanEgeren, titled Fickle Voters: A strong independent streak leads Wisconsinites to swing dramatically between political parties. It explains the split/swing quite well. I tried to find a way to e-mail it to you, but it's not available on line. If you were interested, you could probably contact the author for a copy.
I was sorely disappointed to hear Rachel and Frank praise C Powell! Am I the only one who remembers him as a big part of the Bush Cabal, and, as such, is a war criminal. He lied to the UN, Congress and the American people. I will never be convinced he didnt know differently - he was C, Joint Chiefs of Staff and Sec of State for gawds sakes!!
Rachel, just a suggestion but I think "The Lier" Jon Lovitz, from SNL would be a great
parody of Mit Romney.
At least Colin Powell has enough sense to see the difference between Obama and Romney. You can't blame him for his choice of party. He had to go with the flow to get an agenda implemented.More Republicans seem to feel this way, because the party now has turned into a far right wing tea party nuts.Romney could be a moderate one way and then a conservative the other way. No one knows which one he is going to turn out to be. Then there is Adelson and the Kochs of the world. His big donors are going to get their share of huge tax cuts and loopholes. Then there are the tea partyers hovering around him in the white house if he wins. Forget about the middleclass tax cuts, the social security, medicare and medicaid to those in need are at risk. You can bet on that ,no matter what they are trying to hide behind their policies.
Is it possible to do a history piece about the link between racism and unemployment?
Texas is the only state where the undocumented immigrant population did not decline during the Great Recession.
Texas is the only state that escaped the recession, and Texas is the only state that encouraged immigration during the Great Recession by refusing to enforce the Real ID Act.
California made $40 million by stealing cars from Mexicans in 2009 in order to force them to self deport, and the real estate industry collapsed the worst in California as about half a million immigrants fled the state.
US Department of Labor Statistic and other organizations indicate economic collapse is limited to the Republican party (click here).
Economic collapse is limited to republican presidents with three exceptions.
Ronald Reagan is the only republican president that did not collapse the economy, and Reagan is also the only president that signed an amnesty program for undocumented immigrants. Taft is the only other republican that improved the economy because he was offended by discriminatory laws and refused to enforce them.
Woodrow Wilson is the only democrat president that made the economy worse, and he is also the only democrat president that signed discriminatory laws banning "... aliens over sixteen ... who cannot read the English, Hebrew, or Yiddish ...", which was specifically intended to outlaw Mexicans.
Unemployment spikes every time a president signs racist legislation.
Unemployment falls every time a president encourage immigration.
Just to drive the point home, almost half a million undocumented immigrants fled California from 2008 to 2009, where the nation suffered the greatest economic decline. Over 25% of undocumented immigrants live in California, and they fled the state after the police stole their cars.
That happened because Swartzeneger authorized police to violate the fourth amendment to the US constitution by stealing cars after Bush #2 outlawed immigrant drivers licenses with the Real ID Act of 2005.
California personal value dropped after 2007 for the first time since 1938 specifically because of racism (Legislative Analysis Office, California, 2009).
Sooo, would any of the laborers union members comment on allowing such immigration?
I think that if union members honestly answer, they inherently are against allowing expansion of the labor force.
