Not too long ago, Mitt Romney and his speechwriters thought they'd come up with a clever new way to mock President Obama: they ridicule efforts to "slow the rise of the oceans."
Campaigning in Minnesota today, former President Bill Clinton suggested these jokes appear a lot less funny now.
For those who can't watch clips online, Clinton said:
"I was actually listening closely to what the candidates said in these debates. In the first debate, the triumph of the moderate Mitt Romney. You remember what he did? He ridiculed the President. Ridiculed the President for his efforts to fight global warming in economically beneficial ways. He said 'Oh, you're going to turn back the seas.' In my part of America, we would like it if someone could've done that yesterday.
"All up and down the East Coast, there are mayors, many of them Republicans, who are being told, 'You've got to move these houses back away from the ocean. You've got to lift them up. Climate change is going to raise the water levels on a permanent basis. If you want your town insured, you have to do this.' In the real world, Barack Obama's policies work better."
I have a hunch it'll be a while before this little GOP applause line returns to Romney's stump speech.

Dismantling FEMA and ignoring nature is code for saying I don't care about the 47%...its also code for his rich friends to get ready to profit off of America...note how he always mentions that disasters should be addressed by the private sector. His rich buddies are secretly expanding operations...this underground strategy to profit from the the 47% is oddly noted in the Mormon Doctrines....see a sample below. SCARY!!!
MORMON Beliefs...Mormon Doctrine, 527-28
"Those who were less valiant in pre-existence and who thereby had certain spiritual restrictions impose on them during mortality are known to us as the negroes. Such spirits are sent to earth through the lineage of Cain, the mark put upon him for his rebellion against God, and his murder of Able being a black skin. . . . the negro are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain spiritual blessings are concern. . . . " (Mormon Doctrine, 527-28)
There is even more scary doctrines about women...people do your research...this country may be making her biggest mistake in world history.
Some of you who believe in man made global may want to read this. When you do not spend any time looking for the truth you end up showing everyone how gullible and uninformed you are.

Nature Magazine, the academic journal that introduced the
world to X-rays, DNA double helix, wave nature of particles, pulsars, and more
recently the human genome, is set to publish a paper in June that shows
atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) is responsible for only 5-10% of observed
warming on Earth.
In the largest effort to date to document global warming dissent in the scientific
community, 31,486 Americans with university degrees in science - including
9,029 PhD, 7,157 MS, 2,586 MD and DVM, and 12,714 BS or equivalent - have
signed on with the Global Warming Petition Project to state “the human-caused
global warming hypothesis is without scientific validity.”
Many of the best and brightest minds in the United States and around the world are in total agreement: The so-called global warming “scientific consensus” is a complete
fabrication and does not exist.
Les-
I guess you got us on that one. I'm assuming they all still support this 2 year old research? And certianly all the opposing research is false. You did research the opposition's data didn't you? The whole balanced point of view thing. Wouldn't it make sense, since the study your touting does indicate some of the warming is caused by CO2, to try and reduce our impact? It's not getting that much warmer so maybe a slight adjustment would make a significant difference.
It would probably be better to do nothing now and deal with it later. You could promote it as a jobs bill, showing how many jobs could be created by rebuilding all the stuff that floods, blows over, or burns up every few years.
it's funny that gas could be $1.80. but lobbyist control most of this rich GOP sector... major tax breaks, loopholes and manipulations ... mitt's favorite part of ripping us off... oil companies make billions and still they continue to control our lives... phuck big oil
Maybe we should go back to the horse and buggy days. If we don't produce as much energy as possible we won't have an economy to provide jobs. Green energy is not cheap and until it is we will have to rely on other resources.
Lobbyist influence both sides of the isle, don't be silly!
it depends on what they are lobbying for.
Man made global warming in serious question by scientist.

More scientists are now ready to adopt the theory of global warming. There was talk of expanding oceans before all this concentration carbon emissions due to previous, current and future. activity in the oceanic plates. We are also polluting the oceans. Wish I was young enough to see how this plays out.
There will always be storms.
But we're now seeing more and bigger storms due to human-caused climate change. The fact that some people can still deny this mystifies me.
My God, people....please stop drinking the Kool-Aid!!!! If you think your personal situation is better and this country is better off than it was in January 2009, vote for Obama. You will very likely see more of the same stuff that you've seen during the past 4 years.
If you think somewhat differently, vote Romney. It really IS that simple.
In favor of some TRUTH to metoo999- Good for you to get on here an state facts! But, if they're not facts they favor democrats, then they're not recognizable facts on this site.
Bill Clinton must have read my book or we are definitely on the same wavelength. This is the third time I heard him talk about something right out of the text I published in June. See it, the TV ad, and excerpts at www.thelawsofmoses.net
