Today's edition of quick hits:
* Victims reflect on the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy.
* As of this afternoon, the death toll from Sandy is at least 34 people in the United States, including 13 in New York City, where a quarter of residents were without power.
* Tomorrow in New Jersey: "President Obama will tour damage from the hurricane in New Jersey on Wednesday with Gov. Chris Christie, a Republican and Mitt Romney ally who gave the keynote address at this year's GOP convention."
* Economy: "Home prices rose in nearly all U.S. cities last month, the latest evidence of a steady recovery in housing."
* Al Gore weighs in: "Former vice president-turned-climate-change-activist Al Gore warned Tuesday that the storm that ravaged the East Coast Monday is 'a disturbing sign of things to come.'"
* And on the other hand, we see Rush Limbaugh spewing nonsense, insisting that climate change is "a non-issue ... because it's fraudulent. The whole thing has been proven to be a hoax."
* The new Michael Moore video for MoveOn.org is not even close to being safe for work, but it is awfully hilarious.
* And let the debate among nerds everywhere begin anew: "Walt Disney Co. is buying Lucasfilm in a $4 billion deal that brings the best-selling 'Star Wars' franchise under the Disney umbrella, with plans to release Episode 7 of the long-running saga in 2015."
Anything to add? Consider this an open thread.

Oh, that Michael Moore video is HILARIOUS!!! That's going to be me in 20-30 years!!!!
AGREE!!! They have seen it all and should know!
Remember when they were calling this "Obama's Katrina"?
Don't want to get ahead of myself, and certainly don't want to gainsay the damage Sandy has inflicted, but still: This looks awfully different than a political disaster for Obama right now.
And the more Michael Brown talks, the better.
I need a fact check. Did Romney, at some point during the primary, state that he would abolish FEMA?
He said he would privatize it. What could possibly go wrong with that??
Wonder if we could send that sweet little ol' lady to Pay Rush a visit....
Just sayin
And we bring you Lu-Ney Films!
Gallup's study of early voters neutralizes one of the Obama campaign's best road-to-victory talking points. As it conducted tracking polls (which have been paused for now), Gallup asked voters whether they'd cast ballots or intended to before election day. The early voters broke 52-46 for Mitt Romney. The dawdling voters who would vote before election day were tied, 49-49. The voters waiting for November 6 broke for Romney, again, by a 6-point margin.
Mitt Romney’s experience from business to politics is lying to get in the door, flip on his promises to help the people and squeeze everything he can to give as much as possible to the 1%. Every time Romney throws up another lie this week we have to pin it to him and the ECONOMY as another example of what he's good at and what we can count on. The only reason this election is so close is because he's a good salesman so he has deluded people into thinking he will create JOBS but when you look under the hood it's clear to see what he's selling is dangerous for the road.
One of the biggest lies he has pulled off is the promise of 12 million new JOBS, that should get 12 million Pinocchios but the Washington Post fact checkers top out at 4 Pinocchios. The wealthy are the only ones who are making money during this recession and they're still not creating JOBS, because there aren't any customers for their products or services. Pres. Obama understands that we increase customers by focusing tax breaks on individuals and industries that need a lift, while ensuring that the deficit doesn't collapse the economy, by strengthening it with raising revenues from individuals and industries who can afford it. This is how you strengthen the whole ECONOMY. The 3% more the top 1% will contribute, will come back to them tenfold as they make a lot more than 3% profit from investing in businesses they now have customers for.
There's one week people, everything comes down to ECONOMY and Mitt Romney is working overtime to flood us with lies so he can get in office, flip the 99% upside down and give whatever change drops out to the 1% so their protected no matter what happens to the ECONOMY. Like Meatloaf said we have to argue with everyone we can to make sure everyone sees through the lies because our JOBS depend on it.
Hasn't it been ridiculous? Both sides seem incapable of telling the truth. I'm sure you are as disgusted with Obama's lies as you are with Romney's.
Well, I have to say this for Disney. They're actually pretty good at allowing their secondary labels to make good movies.

Make an add out of the Donald lying to David Letterman about not knowing his new clothing line is made in China.
Totally Awesome Video by Move On!!!!! Hilarious!!!! but with a great point!
Since Mitt loves to lie, I have a suggestion. In an actual attempt to be useful to humanity, he needs to strip naked and lie in a shallow hole and be used as a bicycle rack. Since I am compassionate he can use a snorkel.
I say he needs to remove his pants, stand on his head, and be used as an umbrella stand. (I hate that I had to use the word "stand" twice in one sentence, but, meh. I'll unleash my inner Chandler some other time.)
Interesting for just a little awhile longer President Obama when he went to Chicago in order to vote, he had to show a photo I.D.!!!

Why would anyone give a damn about Gore's comments? Especially as he continues to jet around the country burning fuel (one passenger on board)....he's a has-been....much like Obama WILL BE in January.
Mikey,
How would YOU know what Gore does? Now get off mommy's computer and go to bed!!

That is a bold face lie. Obama has hats made in China as well.
Though I have been expecting Wisconsin to start to be billed as the "dumb state of the north" since we failed to give Scott Walker the boot, I didn't really appreciate Rachel's on-air use of Wisconsin as the state most likely to be ignorant of what would happen in a "big city" like New York when water and electricity mix. I understand many in the state did vote for wing nuts like Scott Walker and Paul Ryan, but I ask Rachel fans to please recall that HYDROELECTRICITY was INVENTED in my former home town of Appleton, Wisconsin! Wisconsin has actually made COUNTLESS other contributions to science and technology, thanks to UW-Madison and other great institutions of science and technology. Our downfall is in collective IQ/EQ is very recent and quite temporary! We may not have the brightest electorate at the moment, but our past, though checkered by Joe McCarthy and founding the GOP, is PROGRESSIVE and we most certainly do not by any means deserve the title of "stupid state of the north!"
We're not all a bunch of dullards, and we DO vote "blue" in presidential elections. We are bordered by Lake Michigan on the East and the Mississippi River to the West and to the North we deal with Lake Superior (and "Yoopers" for which we deserve some kind of award!) all of which have a tendency to cause some weather related issues and/or flooding. Milwaukee and certainly Chicago, which is barely over Wisconsin's border, are "big cities" by anyone's estimation, so we're not all a bunch of farmers and hicks with straw in our hair and bugs in our teeth...or vice-versa. Thank you very much.
...this storm will get obama re-elected as he will become leader he truly is now, he was born for this moment... almost 8 million people without power, obama's going to step up... it's great to see unfolding ... ask yourself, in your heart of hearts... who would you would rather have in charge right now?... romney or obama?... yeah... that's right...
