hey trolls you are have go back to fox noise if you want to work for the Kochs brothers--------------they paid less than MSNBC>>>>???blogging that is <<<<< < SO BYE------------------------go some where and VOTE
RtheK, good one. If only they could see the hypocracy of their anti's! I just love how the so called Christians are so anti Jesus! He said feed the poor! Treat the least among you as if they were him, or something like that. Not big on the bible, but I'm more Christian than they are.
Good job, RtheK. Along with weatherization - add energy assistance. And I would add with you living wages for work. Every time a payment of any kind is made to a working person (food stamps, energy assistance, etc) the taxpayers are subsidizing those companies who refuse to pay their workers a liveable wage. Just think how many taxi cab drivers, waitresses/waiters, dishwashers, temp and part time workers, and those many others who will lose pay over this disaster on the east coast.
I'm with you, Dawn. But really, it's the fundamentalist thing, whether Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim. The other part of this has to do with the environment (or as Santorum put it "a phony religion". God made the earth - doesn't that make it sacred? And how can they say they are so worried about the 'debt' being passed on to the next generation, and not be concerned about clearcutting, mountain top removal, water pollution. So we don't want the next generation to be in debt, but it is okay to leave them an unsustainable ecology? I am in awe of the foolishness of humans that anyone, particularly a woman, but - anyone - could be taken it by this stuff. We keep hearing trash about the Cons fear of our country adopting "Sharia Law," yet they sound a lot closer than us Democrats, who have a tent so big that all are welcome - even conservatives. I can't wait for the election, so I know whether to get depressed or not.
Why even bother doing the anti thing. I tried it some time back and being obsessive compulsive I could not find the end. I finally change the problem to what they are actually for.
They are for (or really care) very little in what is important to those of us who have to do actual physical sweaty type work for our existence. In the list is wealth for the wealthy and protecting the wealthy from any of us at the other end obtaining any of it. There is just to little of it to go around except to a select few.
im proud of the 47%
Why? ... For what?
Oh, gee, I don't know. Let's see: serving in the military (or being a military family), or for working all their lives and either didn't make enough to save for retirement or lost their retirement in the financial collapse, or families who work their butts off for employers who don't pay enough to support their families (and don't tell them to go work somewhere else, for many reasons they may not be able to), or the disabled (many of whom will be on the street if Romney/Ryan get their damnable budget) (oh, and many of the disabled are more so because they did not have health care at the onset of their illness/ disability. There are some in the 47% that are not so praiseworthy. some of them make lots of money 'under the table' so they can avoid such pesky things as taxes, paying back school loans or child support. What to do with such reckless hate when there is so much of beauty and soul in the world - scenery, music, poetry, good clean food and fun, kids and teens, I could go on. All the Cons can do is spread fear, anxiety, disdain, scorn, anger, resentment, and most of all bullcrap. "We are all in the gutter - but some of us are reaching for the stars" (or something like that). Oscar Wilde.
John. If you need to ask that, you're anything but a genius. More like an ignormous.
At the time Lord Romney made his now famous address to his faithful moneyed friends, of the many different ways you could divide the US population, two of them, coincidentally, had a roughly equivalent percentage of the whole - those who would never vote for a Republican and those who didn't pay income tax last year. Some but not all of the first group were also in the second group. From the video recording it's difficult if not impossible to tell if Romney knew he was glomming two separate groups together.
But since then, a lot of other people have made the same mistake the wealthy drones in his live audience made; they fell for his snake oil sales pitch, his verbal sleight of hand, and failed to notice that other than both being @47% of the US population the two are not one.
Some of the @47% who would never vote for him did not pay income tax the year before.
Some of the @47% who didn't pay income tax the year before are staunch Romney supporters. Heck, there's every reason to believe that Romney has managed to pay 0% income tax in more than one previous year.
He also, as HAS been pointed out, managed to glide right past the fact that while many low income folk pay 0% federal income tax, an appreciable percentage of their income is taxed for other things.
But he was trying to bilk his audience of money, not educate them on facts, so with some smoke and mirrors he lead them to believe he was one of them and if they wanted him to save them from the unwashed masses they better cough up.
And they really, really, really don't think he would sell them out just as quickly as he sold out which ever of the 47% they thought he was talking about. Just how gullible can you get?
You should be. About 99% of us will be in it in our lifetime.
RNOHB,#3.4 Good post. So true. Apparently some are very gullible indeed. I cannot stand to see him get up there and tell these bald-faced lies and watch the crowds applaud and cheer him on. I want to pull an Elvis and shoot the TV screen!
Lately I find myself using a lot of "French" phrases as I scream at him on television. I have begun talking to the TV. I will be glad when this is over!
I hope.
PLEASE tell me someone is investigating where the "food donations" Romney collected at this campaign event will go to. Because the Red Cross won't accept them, and I seriously doubt Romney is going to use campaign funds to get them to the affected areas.
If Romney's campaign ends up throwing out these donations (which he only collected to excuse his crass campaign event), it's going to cost him dearly with the American people, I suspect...
Romney doesn't know the first thing about disaster relief. That's why he doesn't know what the Red Cross really needs. What would you expect from someone who wants to get rid of FEMA.
maybe thats what the two trips to the hardware store was this summer, to check on what it takes to rebuild after a disaster.
Oh, those silly photo-ops. Good thing they didn't take him to Home Depot....his head would've been spinning.
LOL Pilot. That man is so clueless because he's had everything done for him his whole life. Born on home plate, and treats people like peons, like he'd be where he is if not for being born on home plate. I'd like to see where he'd be if he was born into a poor family, with parents that did nothing but work, had no time for him, etc.
If Robme was at home Depot ya know, he would be getting, um let me look at the list, um oh yeah Hardware!!
Is it possible Sandy is Mother Nature's October Surprise for Romney? He appears to be fading into the sunset as real people with real values ignore him and other Republicans and their phony morality.
Ed's new blog.....
Thanks Rachel for keeping it sane. I just can't think there....
Agree, Xo. It's just too hard to follow. Jumps around too much.
xxxooo--------------you are so right''''''
hello
yes agreed.
Ed`s show the best,,, Rachel's show and blog are also the best and blog is sane.
not that Al , and Lawrence aren't the best as well. Smiles
:-)
Yeah, it's fragmented at Ed's.
xxxooo, Me either. I not only can't think there, I can't navigate properly there and the brightness hurts my eyes. I loved Ed's show, but love all of them equally well. Here, I am able to see OK and to comment.
BTW, xxxooo, you said my cat is possessed. He is. Now when he walks into the room, he says "Hi".
I wish I was kidding. He is a scary cat!
LOL India, possessed cat says hi, I love it! Now that's a headline. You need to put that on youtube, tee hee. I agree about the new format, and not only what you said, but everytime I refresh the page, it either doesn't show something that was there before, I posted something, refreshed the page and it was gone. Or it gives me a message about, (ugh, I can't think of the word) a script running on the page or something and I have to keep trying it. It is really frustrating.
Hi, Dawn. Same here; it is frustrating. Haven't been on for a while 'cause of taking care of my sis (back surgery). I was hoping they would have put the blog back the way it was by now.
Hi Dawn! I wish I could do that with this cat. He never ceases to amaze us, but there are times I wish he'd just meow. (He doesn't meow). He is 8 yrs. old and he can meow, but I think maybe twice he meowed. When he wants something, he sits and stares me down and if it is food, he uses the sign language we taught him: he licks his lips. It's true. I have never seen anything like this cat. We just love him.
If his head spins around, though, we'll re-think this! LOL He is sitting here watching me right now. He probably knows I am talking about him. LOL BTW, he is a big black Manx. Eeek...
As for Ed's blog, I quit trying. Forget it.
Hey, I found the gang!!! Hope all are OK, How bout the Romney POLL watchers here in WI?? Never end's
Their desperation only keeps getting worse, Sarge. Nothing is too low for them. And "training people for it"? It really doesn't end.
Hi Sarge, I must go, but hope you are well. I am here because I can't see well on Ed's blog and it gets confusing. Plus my comments disappear! Mostly the format bothers my eyes.
I agree, Have been on this blog last few week's, Good to hear from all.
I have problems with most of the changes.
I know the saying about old dogs and new tricks but someone dropped the ball and did not check out the functionality of the changes.
They needed to simplify and make everything the same for all areas but thy should have asked us what worked well and what we liked before the big cluster konfusion.
We need a new I.T. man for msnbc site.
I'm too mad!!!!
SAndy its not so your alone! WE ARE THERE! UNITED one .
Romney renames his campaign event as a storm relief rally? Really? If he's so serious about the victims, why doesn't he get Sheldon Adelson and some of his other big money donors to send some of that cash to the Red Cross? He really is clueless about the real world.
Does anyone think that perhaps Romney is setting up this bogus philanthropic charitable trust ("Storm Relief") simply to reduce his taxes? Trusts advantageously provide the tax-exempt status of a non-profit. The Mitt is always looking for a way to benefit from others losses.
All The Market Will Bear.
We do not want to believe that our $30 million-a-year CEOs are nuts. Truth is, they should not need that much drugs and hookers to feel OK. But we still wish such for ourselves. We still think, massive money is the secret of our happiness. And as a 97%er, we will never get there, we will never be proven wrong.
So we are the lucky ones. . .sort of. .
I don't think we all want that. I just want to make enough to be comfortable, not have to worry every month how I will make ends meet. I'm not a worshiper of the rich like the right wing. Sure it would be nice, but I wouldn't be greedy about it. I certainly would do the despicable things they all do to make that kind of money. Wealth like that always comes from not so Kosher dealings.
Did the New Jersey Governor say Obama is OK in an bad spot ?. . did I get that right ?
I know I was pumped when I heard that, hoping maybe it puts Obama over the edge but I wont hold my breath, there are a lot of gullable people in this world, look at how the polls changed after Romney Lie Marathon at the first debate. Really people, you prefer to vote for someone who did nothing but lie?
Hey - Christie said Obama was "OUTSTANDING" and a LEADER! Woo-hoo. Romney just called Con governors. Obama called them - in the middle of the night!
Now the right wing will throw christie under the bus for complimenting Obama on how well he is handling this mess.
hey Larry--I think that they are going to have a hard time doing that, but I'm sure they will give it all they have. Christie will probably curse them out. Or knock them out that would be better.
Larry and Rachael,
They certainly will throw Christie under the bus. It is "verboten" to say one good thing about Obama.
I think this storm will have one good benefit; it will help people see the stark difference between the policies of the GOP (Starve government to death) and the Democrats: ( Government can help people). The GOP under the Ryan plan cuts FEMA by, I think, 40%! As someone who lost a home to a hurricane, I was mighty glad FEMA was there to help us. I don't know what we'd have done. We were homeless. Also want to praise the Red Cross who fed us chick-filet sandwiches! Wow, they were great.
You are so right India--Stay Safe--and have a good one.
I’ve watched this election now, especially with this Global Warming issue and I have become very disgusted with all these things from deceptive Republicans. The damage and the coverage over such a huge area of land is absolutely horrific causing people to die and be in such misery and despair. And really for what some Oil and Coal companies that want to keep pretending that there is no Global Warming. But the Republicans, the oil companies and coal companies would prefer to remove everybody’s rights just so they can continue with their extreme greed. If there is evil in this world, this is certainly it with these Republicans, extremists of hatred which includes the religious ones, and the extreme wealthy. How much sicker can they get? Surely these people who want to continue such a destructive path are not of God.
I agree Deb, and they have spent billions of dollars to misinform people. More people believe that global warming is a hoax than those of us that believe it's real! Wake up people, what makes more sense: People profiting from the disbelief of global warming paying off 2% of scientists to lie and skew the facts so they can continue to rape and pillage the earth for profit. OR 98% of scientists either lying about global warming existing? Do you think that 98% are wrong and 2% are right, even if it wasn't for profit? It's common sense to me. What do you think the ones who say it exists have to gain?
Hi Dawn! Busy now yak yak.....phone call....catch up later.....
Hey X, OK.
Can do...
India cats know quakes..
The President is doing a remarkable job doing this crisis. Christie really explained that to everyone.
hello hope all is well.
Hey Pilot, gosh I've missed you guys so much--all is well with me. I just got back from Florida, trying to get the vote out down there:
I thought everyone had disappeared or something. Hope all is well with you, and everyone else too.
Hello everyone, good to see you all, Is everyone ok with the storm?
I know. I am feeling very different about Gov. Christie now. I think I . . .I think I like him.. did I just say that ?
Time to help our citizens and put politics behind.....I hope Obama does a good job with this crisis.....Our people are depending on it. So far....I think he has handled it well.
Christie has his faults, but he is a straight talker. He knows his State need FEMA right now. He also knows that if Mitt was President, His State would be on it's own, with no help from the Federal Government.
Even if Romney kept it in place, you know he'd hire friends who didn't know what they were doing like Bush did, and we'd have another Katrina situation on our hands. Bush said we didn't need people in place ahead of time. What a buffoon. Obama sent people well in advance. We are already seeing the difference in the two policies, and I'm sure we will see even more difference. TAP, noone is trying to politicize this. They are trying to point out what a mess we will be in if we have (R)'s back in control of the Presidency. I don't understand you, did you think Bush was a good President? Romney is him only worse! If you think Bush was good, then there is truly no hope for you. I guess if Romney were to get in Bush would certainly look good in comparison.
Well good to see most of the gang (smiling) has made the switch soon more to follow.
Rachael how was the GOTV in FL ? good ground game? Oh smiles good to see ya.
DawnCT all seems well in your area?
TAP hows your Area?
Pondering smiling, its always ok to speak good about people who have their moments of Correctness smiles.
@Pilot--The ground game is good, I expect it to get better, I plan on returning this weekend. I also met the POTUS in Tampa, and got to shake his hand. Chris Christie was there, and I got a Picture with him, and a big hug. I do think that we will get Florida, if we continue to do the grassroots. There are so much fraud up there, people are getting letters telling them that they can just sign a paper to vote, and much more underhanded tactics are going on. The Republican Party are really playing dirty in this election. It's really sad.
Romney made a total ass of himself at that ridiculous event. I wish I could think he meant well and his heart was in the right place, but I CAN'T.
Sorry TAP, I know you like him. I don't. I hate the whole lot of them to be honest. They are a bunch of dirty liars.
PS...We are good here in Ohio...but my mother in law lives in the mountains of WV....Last we heard she had around 2 feet of snow and it is still coming down....She has no power, no land line telephone and her cell phone is dying. She does have a sister that lives within walking distance and a pellet stove...but we are worried about her.
Thanks for asking....
Are you OK?
India...it's Ok with me that you don't like Romney....I can take it....Don't worry about it....Let er rip.....You know I will...LOL Glad that your OK....
correction for post 12.9 ---I meant Charlie Christ the ex-gov of Florida--Not Chris Christie my bag! Hey Tap--glad to know all is well with you. I hope your Mother and aunt does well too.
Dawn....sorry I just read your post.....No I don't like what Bush did with foreign policy....However, blaming Bush for the economic meltdown "housing bubble" is just not correct. Also, Bush did not have a revenue problem....Bush's policies were good for revenue....The problem was the wars cost too much. Spending problem....not a revenue problem....
Thanks Rachael.
Rachael, you met Potus? Lucky duck. I'm jealous now. :) Yes, Pilot, we were fortunate. Feel bad for those that weren't. Heard a story that a girl and her mom lost power, went out to walk to a neighbors house and the girl was killed by a falling tree. Oh, that is horrifying. I'd lose my mind if that happened to me. I don't know who to feel worse for, yes the girl is gone, but how do you live with that as a mother?
Tap, how can you say that? No President has ever lowered taxes during a war, much less two wars. How can you say there wasn't a revenue problem, when he diminished the amount coming in while we were bleeding cash? That's absurd!
". I also met the POTUS in Tampa, and got to shake his hand."
Now i might be jealous,, Big Smile,,, that had to be a great topper to good trip.
YES!!!!!!__YES Dawn and Pilot My Dears I Sure Did! It was a dream come true for me. --He Looks So Much Better In Person--WOW!!!!!--Sorry Michelle, Love You Too
Dawn....I'm glad you asked about the revenue....something that JFK understood was that cutting taxes on small business actually increases revenue....It stimulates the economic engine and produces more revenue....Raising taxes does not guarantee increase revenue....In fact it can have the opposite effect.....Go back and look at what year our government had the highest revenue....I believe it was 2007...
Tap, also, how many economists predicted the collapse? did he listen? No, he could have done something, just like he could have done something to TRY to prevent 911, he was warned repeatedly that a threat was imminent, what did he say to the CIA agent that went to him while he was on vacation? "you covered your ass, you can go now" That man was a menace. and ALL of his policies added to the problems we are having now.
Dawn here is something to back up what I said earlier....I will post something in a minute that will show who didn't listen when it came to the Housing Bubble.....
Here is JFK on tax cuts....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEdXrfIMdiU
More to come on the housing bubble....thanks for your patience.
Dawn....I will give you this Bush did not undo the harm that Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter did with the repeal of Glass Steigle and The Affordable Housing Act.........But Democrats fought the notion that a housing bubble could even exist....Barney Frank was head of the oversight committee and defended Freddie and Fanny....then after the collapse...Obama gives him the job of preventing the thing he said could not exist.....and we get Dodd Frank....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzWrnUezDOU&feature=related
Here is Barney Franks 2005 speech claiming a bubble couldn't exist...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW5qKYfqALE&feature=related
TAP, I am sorry to hear of your mother-in-law. How awful! Imagine all that snow! It is mind boggling. I know how you feel, one of our best and oldest friends cannot be reached, he is out on Fire Island. We just keep trying to call and leave messages. Fire Island hit HARD. He told my husband he'd ride it out as it probably wouldn't be much. He hasn't called. His house is near the beach, it is a barrier island. We are so worried. I am waiting to see Rachel's rerun at 12 as Pam said she mentioned Fire Island.
TAP, what is a pellet stove?
Thanks India...the storm has changed a lot of lives and has completely taken some.......I pray we get things back to normal soon....
A pellet stove is a stove that burns little pellets made from wood chips....I wish I knew more but I only saw it work once...Here is a add for one...
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/ContentView?pn=KH_BG_HF_Wood_Pellet_Stoves&storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053
Thanks for the info, TAP,
Rachel really has a great show. I was so impressed by her tonight. I like her "bury the power lines" idea. Now, that would make millions of jobs and make life so much better. Of course, the Republicans in the T-party congress would obstruct it if Obama is reelected and they are still there. They would never allow it to pass, just as they disallowed all his jobs bills to pass. They don't care about this country, they care about catering to their T-party extremist constituents and right-wing lobbyist's money.
Oh, wait..............they say climate change doesn't exist. I forgot for a minute they are the anti-science bunch.
GET THEM OUT.
India....you still there? There was something I wanted to chat with you about from a post several days ago...about your dad.
I can't sleep....worried about my mother in law....it is going to be cold tonight and I don't know how much fuel she has for her stove.....
Has anyone noticed that while we humans are busy whacking each other on the heads, Nature is busy biting us on the butts ?? Maybe it is not our neighbors we should be worrying about as much as those funny looking skys we sometimes see now. . . just saying. .
Gallup's study of early voters neutralizes one of the Obama campaign's best road-to-victory talking points. As it conducted tracking polls (which have been paused for now), Gallup asked voters whether they'd cast ballots or intended to before election day. The early voters broke 52-46 for Mitt Romney. The dawdling voters who would vote before election day were tied, 49-49. The voters waiting for November 6 broke for Romney, again, by a 6-point margin.
Was this by land-lines as well ?? I have a land-line tele. It sucks. I am getting calls from Texas now. Give me a break.
Really because the last I heard voters were 2 to 1 for Obama, it might even have been 3 to 1, I think it was 3. Maybe that was the swing states or just Ohio, not sure, but if it was those are the only ones that matter. Also why would you go by a poll for people who already voted, when you can access that data. and 49-49 out of how many people?
I've not heard or seen any early voter polls showing Romney in the lead. It was probably a Fox Lies poll.
It was a Lie from Fox--Romney is only leading in the deep South States, and they really don't matter.
Dawn
Where did you hear that from MSDNC???
Look at the Link
It is a Gallup Poll Results
Not Fox
Look at the Clear Politics Average
Who is leading?
We have a huge debt. Who do we owe it to again ??
Well Pondering
When President Obama took office it was at 107 TRILLION National Debt
After 4 STRAIGHT years of Deficits of over 1 TRILLION PLUS per year during President Obamas Term
Today the NATIONAL DEBT is OVER 16 TRILLION
Glad to be of help
Well then he is doing one hell of a great job.
107 -16 = 91 trillion off the debt.
glad you cleared that up for us and thanks for the help.
LOL
15.1 Correction
When President Obama took office it was at 10.7 TRILLION National Debt
After 4 STRAIGHT years of Deficits of over 1 TRILLION PLUS per year during President Obamas Term
Today the NATIONAL DEBT is OVER 16 TRILLION
Glad to be of help Pilot
WE know how some Obama supporters are challenged
LOL
Wait a minute. You did not answer my question. Who do we owe it to ? Did you go to the Romney school of evasion as well ?
It takes more than 4 years to clean up a mess that has been building for 30 yrs. Please do a little research. The Bush admin. took war costs off-budget until 2008 -- after he left office. This is a massive bill that will take years to pay off. We spend 50% of the federal budget on the military (which, to my knowledge, is unprecedented). This country will continue paying high costs for wars, because war is what America does. And yet, since the Reagan admin., the budget has actually LOST several trillion dollars due to massive annual tax cuts for corporations/the rich. Ah, but that's not the end of it -- corporations have used much of our taxpayer money to cover the costs of shipping our jobs out; during this time, Clinton created the super-cheap workfare (replacement) labor force, enabling employers to replace their workers with much cheaper workers. These workers are much poorer, so they don't owe income or property taxes, thereby continuing to shrink revenues -- and that's why we have the mess we have. Workfare pulls down wages, blocks unionizing efforts, etc., all of which adds to the continuing increase of poverty/decrease of tax revenues. All of this is the outcome of right-wing policies (and yes, Bill Clinton actually passed more right wing policies than any other modern president). When Barack Obama was elected, years of massive war-related debts, LONG-neglected needs of the nation, etc., were already sitting there on his desk. Grownups understood that it will be years (if ever actually possible, and I doubt it is) to restore the country/economy we had before the "Reagan Revolution." This disaster has been the result of right-wing administrations.
Pondering, smiles
well think he had to watch the video as part of his employment.
Not to mention that you are forgetting to mention that the debt when he took office did not include the debt from the two wars that Bush failed to put on the books. Potus did put them on the books which accounts for much of this debt. Your failing to mention also that if you go by GDP, he has spent less than any president, including Clinton, who is the next lowest.
And your saint Reagan, lowered taxes from 70%. He lowered them too much and had to raise them like 11 times. I don't think that 70% is fair, don't get me wrong. I don't think 15 is fair for multi millionaires and billionaires, making money on their money, with absolutely no hard work at all. While the rest of america pay double that for working their butts off. And don't say they worked hard to get the money to invest because that almost never is the case. Mostly they were born with money.
Reagan cut taxes and revenue went up......even after he raised those taxes 11 times....it was still not even close to 70% I believe it was 28% at the end of Reagan's last term.
And nolaughing has no clue what the spending has been. A chart out just yesterday show Obama has spent less than ANY President since Ronnie. But let not let facts get in the way of their hate for this President. Thay haven't yet.
Let's not forget interest on the debt. And, seriously, I hope with all my heart I never hear the name Reagan again (except for his lovely son, Ron). When he fired the air traffic controllers it was a death knell for working people. He was involved in the Iran-Contra affair. Big deal, he gave good speeches - he was an actor. He was really good at acting. But as a legislator? I don't have many good memories of government from that time.
Larry...the only reason you can claim that Obama has spent less than Any President since Ronnie is because Congress has held the purse strings tight and has not passed his spending bills.
Tap, I know it wasn't near 70%. I said that is not fair. No one should lose 70% of their income. The point is that it is already low and Romney wants to cut it further, and no matter how many times he says he wont raise them on the middle class I'll never believe it. Why would you believe anything he says? He's proven a million times over that he is a liar. Things were pretty great under clinton, the top was paying 39% I think and doing great, and their was record growth in jobs and the economy. I think he should keep it at whatever it is now and raise the cap gains to 30 or 35%, actually just make it the same no matter what kind of income it is, and make the rates higher on anything over 250K like Obama wants. You (R)'s act like Obama wants to go back to 70% for crying out loud. Think of it this way tap, 30% of 250k is more than most families make, so If most of us can scrape by on much less than just the taxes of the wealthy, I think that they can still live really well with 70% of their income. (R)'s claim to be so patriotic, yet they don't want to pay for the 2 wars we were and are still in. I don't get that!
Dawn...There is no doubt that the Rich could pay more and would be just fine.....the problem is that if you raise taxes on business it isn't going to stimulate the economy and it won't create jobs....It is very possible revenue will go down. Obama is running on raising taxes on the rich purely for political reasons.

They are disgusting, alright. Oh well, they'll lose.
oh hello good to see you again.
seen post about your friend, hope they are well and its just bad phone lines/cell towers down etc...
Pilot, it is the 31st. He called at 1:22 PM today. All he said was I am alive and OK but can't talk. I'll call when possible. Apparently he is OK but stranded out on Fire Island and did not have but a few minutes left on his cell phone. He has others, like his mom, to call.
Oh, thank God. !!
President Obama has proved that He is the best Man to run our Country. I mean, just think about it, Mitt is out gathering up canned goods that didn't even fill up the back seat of a car, for millions of people. Not to mention, that, that's the last thing that people need right now, they have no power, how are they going to cook them.
The President has torn down all the red tape, and protocol, to make sure people gets everything that they need. A vote for Mitt = 2 cans of pork and beans during your crisis. A vote for the President means you're worth more than a can of cold beans. You're worth all that's humanly possible, to help relieve your troubles. I just can't say it enough; MITT IS JUST UNFIT!
Give it another day or two and see what folks are saying about comrade Obammy's leadership with the storm. You folks are jumping the gun with your praise.
If Its Mitt its Unfit You must Acquit!
sorry Johnny.
Bill why do you people always rejoice when something bad happens in Our Country? It seems like you people are just sitting around waiting for something bad to happen so you can say "I't's OBAMA'S FAULT". Man Get A Life Please.
Right on Rachael on both of the above posts. Obama will do an excellent job throughout this crisis. Bill you are dispicable, Rachael is right, you people are happy when tragedy happens. Your boy Mitt, patted himself on the back as he was walking offstage after his press conference when 4 Americans were killed. What he did was dispicable, he never does the right thing, he wouldn't know the right thing if it hit him over the head. He is all wrong. I wonder if you were one of the people who lost their pension so he could get rich, if you'd still like him. Do you understand that what he does to make his millions costs the taxpayers money, then he wants to pay as little as possible in taxes. Do you realize his big accomplishment at the Olympics was funded by billions of taxpayer dollars. He uses the taxpayers money to make money all of the time, yet doesn't want to pay taxes. Wow, that's admirable huh?
Great post Dawn--you are so right.
Thanks Rachael, you too.
Think about it Rachael. Who are the Right wing? What do they stand for? What have they shown for this President? That should answer you question. If it doesn't help them it's bad.
Folks do you think that if Obama get's re-elected that he will be able to get anything done?
Tap, hopefully, we will give him the Congress he needs. If not then you (R)'s better bust their butts to pass the jobs bills. Don't you realize that they wont pass previously bipartisan things like infrastructure, etc. Do you really want to reward them for holding the American people hostage? People are suffering and these Jerks are purposely keeping people unemployed to make the President look bad. They even said it on camera. There is no denying it. How can you vote for anyone who would purposely harm Americans for political gain? They are dispicable. They are treasonous in my book.
You are so right Larry---
Tap--The President got a lot done without the help from the Party of "Hell No We Won't". We will elect a democrat majority in 2014, so yes he will be able to get a lot of things accomplished. Just like he did in his first four years, only more this time around.
Tap, do you really want the banks to be deregulated again? Do you really want EPA regulations lowered? Your water, your air, your soil, you don't care about that? Do you not see that these people only care about the top 1%? They don't care about us. Please open your eyes! Think of it this way, Obama has done things that has hurt him politically in order to help us! That's the person I want for President. Not someone who says a different thing every other minute for political gain, which I don't understand for the life of me why that is working. He is a LIAR! If your spouse lied to you everyday about everything would you trust them? I don't think you would, so why would you want to trust THE MOST IMPORTANT job in the world to that person?
Rachael your assuming a lot that Democrats are going to run the table like that....and what if they don't?
Dawn....what about the Obama lies?
http://obamalies.net/list-of-lies
Dawn....I don't want the coal industry destroyed.....we can continue to clean our air just like we have for decades. Obama's epa is out of control and have already closed coal fired plants and it is costing thousands of good paying jobs. Not to mention increasing the price of electricity. No he would rather spend billions on Windmills built in China.
How do we clean our air?
Yes Tap, we must move to green energy! What does it take to get through? There is no such thing as clean coal. And everyone is always talking about the pipeline. Do you realize that Canada owns that? And that oil is being shipped elsewhere, we don't benefit from it. Do you realize that demand is very low for oil, yet prices are sky high, and that is because of the speculation from wallstreet, that a trader got drunk and did something that caused it to spike to 6 dollars a gallon in California. Do you realize that these bankers and oil guys are brainwashing you by spending billions of dollars on misinformation. The same way they did to convince people cigarrettes don't cause cancer, back when they first told you it did? Do you see that they have the most to gain if you believe what they are selling you and you vote against your own interest? Don't you think that If a coal miner could have a green job instead of one that gives them cancer, they'd be happier? Do you realize that they spent tons of money to buy some scientists to skew the truth and say that climate change doesn't exist? do you believe 2% or 98% of scientists? Ask yourself this, What do the 98% have to gain? What do the people paying the 2% have to gain? Don't be so naive!
By taking Reasonable steps that industry is capable of achieving and remaining in business. I have no problem with requiring plants to produce less pollution ...but you can't expect these industries to go from 0 to 9000 mph. Obama knew he was killing coal and that there was no way the industry could meet the new requirements right now....that is not Pro Job growth policy.....buying Chinese built windmills to replace High Paying Coal jobs....is insane.
Dawn...I think green energy is great...but instead of the government just giving out our money to companies that they select....why not have a X prize??? Offer a large chunk of money.....$500 million to any company that can produce from 100% American parts and assembly ......a windmill that meets specific efficiency and does not require government subsidies to stay afloat and is cheaper per KW than coal......then you might have something.
good one Pilot--I'm sure Johnny would be proud of you.-LOL
Point related to the election: Millions of poor people (working, or worse off) came out in 2008 to vote for Barack Obama on the chance that he would launch a legitimate public discussion about US poverty today. The degree of ignorance (as indicated by media) really is stunning. As a result of Clinton's policies, infant mortality rates among America's poor have increased while the life expectancy of our poor has actually fallen below that of some Third World countries. Welfare "reform" kills, and this generation is cool with that. The discussion has been all about, only about, the misery of those who are still so fortunate as to have steady jobs AND middle class wages. The poor and middle classes have been deeply divided, pitted against each other. Divide and conquer (the masses). It's good to call for job creation, and we've been doing just that for over 30 years! But you can't rent a room with promises of eventual jobs. At any rate, because the media/the leading Dem pols have utterly ignored poverty for the past four years, so many who voted in 2008 aren't voting this time, and the polls seem to reflect this. Maybe shutting out the poor, utterly dehumanizing them, wasn't a good idea.
DHB, I agree and disagree with you. Obama is trying to help the poor in other ways, especially education. There are way too many people in this country who think that people on welfare are all scumbag takers. If they only knew how bad it was, they'd know that noone aspires to be on welfare, or stays there longer than they have to. It would be political suicide, I think to increase benefits, unfortunately no one can win with just the vote of the poor and people like the ones on this sight that get it. The plutocrats have spent so much money dividing us. People truly hate the poor. Sure there are some bad actors but most people just have something bad happen to them. Also a lot of people on welfare are young girls who get pregnant, you'd think the so called Christians would be happy that they didn't abort the child, and not be so angry about paying for it. But guess what, they are hypocrits, they don't care if that child suffers once it's born just so long as it's born. If the poor think that not voting for Obama will not have consequences for them, they better think again. If Romney gets in they will be much worse off than they are now. About welfare reform: I had to leave my husband after my second child was born. I went down for healthcare only, as I had to go to part time work, and my job wasn't hiring full time anymore, so no more insurance, not that I could have afforded it. After taxes and a sitter for part time, I was left with about 100 dollars a week, and that was too much to get insurance. I had to quit my job to get insurance. I got about 435 cash and I think a bit over 150 food stamps. The cash paid for rent and phone. Nothing left for diapers, soaps, etc. which food stamps don't buy. After Clinton's reform, you had 2 years to either go to school, paid for, or work for 2 years and get your full benefits. Needless to say, school was not on the table since I didn't have enough to live on. Those 2 years got me on my feet. So in my case it was a success.
protectthe votevoter cards signed signatures in ink who they voted for
fraud in voting is terrible instead of counting shads we can count actual voter cards with signatures of the party voted for.
that rids our fears of romney's family owning ohio voting machines. we need an accurate paper trail
I find it ridiculous with all of our technology we don't have a fool proof voting machine. We should get a print out of who we voted for if it's computerized. So we can be sure it went in accurately. I find it funny that the most important swing states have these machines.

That's a good way to keep your children's teeth free from cavity's. I think I will try this. Thanks Steve.
I have a good idea what democrats stand for and so do the democrats.
I also have a good idea about what the republicans stand for but most who call themselves republicans are clueless. They only know what the republican party tells them but never looks at what the party actually ends up doing.
Why is there absolutely no accountability among republicans?
Anyone that would even begin to claim that they support robme is an Anti-American FOOL that has Not even got a Clue as to What he represents and supports - robUs has an agenda and that is to over-throw Our Government and the Rights of ALL of the People of America and the Constitution of America - LOOK - robme is Not a Christian = he is a morman , someone that believes in CULT Activity and beliefs and the morman faith [If you could Call it a Faith] believes that THEY Are Far Superior than Any other religion and HE Actually Believes that HE Is Some Kind of a KING !? Crazy-Just-Plain-Crazy !
Mud: The guy is already a certified plastic person without a ounce for intestinal fibre. It seems its all black and white to some, but to me its all in what it takes to be real.
This is out of context, but it might just be boiling down to this: Who'd have thought that in 2012, some voters would still think only along racial lines? Prejudice is ugly and pathetic (and still thriving among many right wing voters).
"Don't boo. Vote!" Obama/Biden 2012
