So I mentioned earlier that Andy Dallos was sent to Chicago to help with production from Obama headquarters. How'd that end up working out?
A bunch more after the jump...

Too much confetti. Other than that, very nice.
You can't have too much confetti. Besides, with the spotlights shining through it, it was pretty cool.
So glad they did not use balloons. Confetti is much more beautiful and not as bad for the environment.
Too much confetti??? how weird a thing to say after what Congress and the Republicans and all the world situations that came upon this President it wasnt enough
Take a picture of the faces in both the Romney and Obama crowds.
Don't count, just look at the faces.
Now you know why President Obama won.
Seems to have worked JUST FINE!
Absolutely awesome job Rachel. You rock. Thank you for your hard work.:*
Meanwhile, in Boston, the party's over.
-And so is the Romney/Ryan celebration.
Perhaps the cold front will preserve those fond memories of reactionary double talk .
If the south can have their R E LEE , Scooter can have his Martha Coakley ...
Happy happy days
:O)
Well folks, I thought I would be able to retire today, but sadly that's not the case.
Congratulations to the left.
Good morning Shooter.
Nobody gets to "retire today'.
Everyone gets to remain engaged in honest debate and dialog.
We need good debate between divergent opinions.
Shooter,
You can be our resident "curmudgeon"! Who knows, if the Republican Party EVER regains its sanity, we might actually agree on some issues!!!
Well, there's a first time for everything, and toDAY, I lose my virginity in replying to a "troll".
Now that calmer heads prevail, Shooter242, It would advance the discussion (and your standing here), if you could begin to present some measured, cogent facts- even a few 'opinions"- that back up the Republican talking points.
Or you can continue with TeaParty nonsense and needless vituperation. The BALL is in your COURT.
So, President Obama will stay on. I could not be happier!!
Now what....
Remember how happy we were four years ago?
Remember how we dropped the ball and didn't support stand up and speak out for the ACA and the ARRA?
Remember 2010?
Did we learn our lesson?
You sound out happiness while tapping on regret .
@Maphi - Agreed, to me this is just the start. I am already worried about what the agenda is going to be. Campaign reform? Financial reform? We have to start working on this now, because we will have elections upon us before we know it. And are we the people going to think we have completed our job and can rest.
President Obama did mention in one interview that he thought he did not communicate with the people enough. Hopefully, he will try to push some progressive legislation and that we can support him to get things through the US House. Can we get everybody to work together?
Liminality edges into possibility. I think O has learned what he has to do over the next 4 years, although he began learning it last year when he got out and stumped for the Jobs Act. And now he'll have Bill Clinton to help in Congress. (McConnell's message was as offensive as Trump's tweets)
And on the R front: Ticket for 2016: Rubio and Susana Martinez (two Hispanics + 1 woman) = Nice try.
Also, glad to hear Schmidt tonight. I'll admit I misjudged him in an earlier comment.
Kudos to all. Hope you're all getting a lot of sleep. Especially Matthews; thought he might cry at one point around 3 a.m. Rachel seemed to be running on adrenalin and nothing else. Brava, my girl. It's been a long way since 2008 when I first became a an ardent fan. I've watched about 95% of shows since. Proud to be a fan. Proud of Rachel!
Steve Schmidt is like Michael Steele. When you get them off the "talking points" they say some pretty intelligent things. However, before an election, they act like puppets. Pull their string and they say what the Party wants them to say.
You are correct regarding the future miscalculation of Rubio + Martinez. The Republican need to understand that merely presenting a new face is not the answer. It is their fundamental policies and attitudes that need to change.
I have to admit that Steve's "whack-a-doodle" line made me spit coffee. If anyone on that panel last night knows "whack-a-doodle", it's Steve.
Many thoughts on the outcome of this election... First, it is astonishing that conservative groups and wealthy Republican donors could raise and spent literally billions of dollars trying to defeat Barack Obama, and their outlay basically changed nothing. Not a single state or even a single percentage point of voters was swayed by this record spending. This ought to change the game in how these vast sums of campaign cash are spent, and how they are viewed by future campaigns. Second, the Republican Party will likely never win another nationwide race unless they recognize their intense problems with non-white voters and do something about it. Obama won because he ran a race for all Americans, not a single monolithic group of male white voters like Mr. Romney. - progressive
I just unblocked Shooter and the rest of the trolls I got tired of, figuring I will probably hear little from them for a while. IrishPat please try not having a point, in less than a thousand words. Congress got a little less irrationally partisan with the loss by Alan West. It is a good day for America.
Since you have unblocked them, I will as well. Our nation functions best when divergent opinions find common ground and compromise. If they are willing to stop acting like meatpuppets, I am more than willing to acknowledge their contributions to our dialog.
Did anyone hear about Karl Rove's meltdown on Fox last night where he REFUSED to believe Obama won? Just heard snippits of it on the news...
Rachel, you and your whole team are awesome!!! I have been your fan since your radio days. I'm so relieved!!! Amazing that all that black money couldn't buy this election. Was really angry at the long voting lines. It's all right for the Republicans to send those men and women to war to die, but then prevent them from voting. I sure hope O can do something about that, or that the Attorney General can prosecute those responsible. Kudos to those who waited in line for hours!!!
At last, the bird shot behind the backs of CEO Romney & the Koch bros for so long is today being shot in their faces. They finally found something their money couldn't buy:-)
You'll have to hold out for Florida's vote until our un-convicted felon of a governor figures out a way to make it add up how he wants.
I'd hate to be Clint Eastwood's furniture right now.
Looks like the turnout was pretty decent !!!!!!!! 8^)
It was a combination of starburst and rainbow complete with the symbolism. Loved all of it!!
