I wouldn't ordinarily focus on Karl Rove twice in one afternoon, but this latest development suggests the Republican strategist is losing it.
Hmm. So now we're to believe Obama was "suppressing the vote." It reminds me of Rove complaining in June that Democrats are "trying to take their wallet and buying" the election -- while he raised millions from billionaires so he could buy the election.
But putting that aside, this notion that negative ads constitute voter "suppression" is important because it's crazy.
On the one hand, we see Rove's party, which spent two years imposing the most sweeping new voting restrictions seen in the United States since Jim Crow, targeting likely Democratic constituencies. On the other hand, we see the president, who ran television commercials that criticized his opponent.
One party engaged in voter suppression through legal disenfranchisement, while the other party shaping its message to maximize the electoral impact. For someone to see these as comparable is to strip the word "suppression" of any sensible meaning.
I realize Rove is having a tough time right now, but this is deeply ridiculous.

lets see...Rove's 51% plus Romney's self admitted 47% = :)
It was a pleasure to watch turdblossom stutter and stammer like Porky Pig when he started denying what was happening. I cannot stand Megan Kelly, she is a nasty bitch, but I had to hand it to her when she asked him if as a Republican he was lying to himself to make him self feel better - I'm paraphrasing - but that was freaking hilarious!!!!
TOO funny! Where are the clown cars and guys in funny hats honking horns? Obama supressed the vote? I think someone supressed Rove's tiny brain.
How likely are the folks who allowed Rove to manage huge donations going to believe this twaddle.
They believed him in the first place so . . . I'd say very
And that's called suppressing the vote? Must be quite a world you live in, Karl.
That's how you act when your scared $hitless of being knocked off...
Hey Karl, your head called, it wants its brain back from outer space.
He's a clown.
can't you just picture him chasing Bugs Bunny with a shotgun. "Wascally Wabbit!"
ROTFLMAO!!! What else can you do? BIZARRE!
There is a book out there called "Boss Rove". I DEFINITELY have to read that now!!! Maybe it explains these recent developments!!
His dissent to madness!!!
It seems that Karl Rove is not very popular in Republicanland today -- Dick Cheney just invited him to go hunting.
Karl Rove, Gov. Romney lost because his past, his history of business dealings told the American public more about what he would do a president than his words did. He claimed he would create 12 million jobs, but never told specifics as to how he would do it. He claimed to want to get tough on China, yet his holdings company is still breaking up American companies and sending jobs offshore, some to China. His attitude about women and equal pay was never explained, he side stepped it. I could go on, but I doubt you or any other Republican is still reading at this point...
He just CONFIRMED that the GOP was suppressing votes. It is a well known Rovian tactic to accuse your opponent of exactly what you yourself are doing.
Thanks for clearing that up, Karl.... if anyone had any doubts about GOP voter suppression.
Sometimes the only way to adequately point out how ridiculous and stupid someone sounds, is playing their own words back at them. Optionally done in slow motion.
Karl is scrambling trying to prove he is worth all the money he's been collecting and spending. I knew it when he whipped out the dry erase board. When Karl pulls out the props he's moving into the "Carrot Top/ Gallegher" area of entertainment.
These guys have been drinking way too much moonshine!
Ahhhhhhhh. Pore baby.
Did those mean old Democrats say bad things about you?
Poor poor baby,,, :' (
It is also crazy that requiring ID is voter supression. It is common sense. Here's what UN observers noted about our election.
What state has got "online" voting??? Cause that is EXACTLY what I would like to do!!!
Hey oncearepublican, in Colorado we have mail in ballots. They send you a ballot, and a Book(?) that has all the amendments and explanation of those amendments both pro & con, all the judges etc. Then you can either mail it in or just drop it off at one of polls close to you (I mean walking distance). Most of the polls you don't even have to get out of your car. I voted on Oct. 25th. Although I hated the voter useless purge, I gotta admit it was so easy.
There's nothing wrong intrinsically with requiring an ID. What is wrong is not making it easy for those without an ID to get one, and not giving people enough time to get one.
So, given that you agree with that excerpt, do you also agree with the following statement: "Sara Al-Utaibi, IFES deputy country director in Jordan, said that the fact that voting is done differently in different U.S. states is highly unusual."
Do you agree that we should have a uniform federal voting system, so states like Florida can't perpetrate fraud on the public by grossly undersupplying Democratic precincts?
In teabagistan, the way they do it, it is voter suppression. They only purge voters and try to require voter IDs just before a major election to fight non-existent voter fraud, but it still doesn't stop THEM from getting caught with committing voter fraud. So if there is no voter fraud, why do we need voter ID?
And this, RobDon, is called a strawman argument. Congratulations. Less fallacies please
(puts on Professor Pedant cap) Arghhh! It's "fewer fallacies"! :-)
Once, NJ allowed email voting due to storm.
There is federal oversight of state voting. I am for that. As far as federal running state elections, don't think I'm for it but would be willing to listen to the case (pros and cons).
I'm with you. I say pass it today so it will be in place for mid-term elections. Don't you think 18 months is adequate time?
It is not a strawman. It is a relative point.
They (foreign observers) also noted there were no police present to provide security. If observers had actually looked at the entire process they'd have found VERIFICATION, not only in pre-checks (comparing voter reg. to votes cast), but over-sight after the fact as well. I know when I see villagers on TV, after they've voted, with their big blue thumbs and all, my first question is: "JUST WHERE IN THEIR LOIN-CLOTH's DO THEY KEEP THEIR DRIVERS LICENSE"? Voter ID doesn't stop cheating anyway, a person just shows ID each time they vote. I.D. laws just make it harder for the elderly and/or indigent.
ROMNESIA!!!!! a bad case.
Who is Rove? Doesn't he know the election is over. Get a life and move on.
You don't suppose the change in percentage was because Palin was on the ticket last time?
I believe it is a touch of Limbaughism, they say it is quite contagious and spreading quickly.
The R's will become more "purely" conservative, and dwindle down to the 23% of Fox viewers, Rush listeners, and the poisonously misinformed.
Reactionary Religious Regional Racist Regressive...
Too bad delusional doesn't start with R.
Next to Dick Cheney, I can't think of a single current public figure more demonic--flat-out Child of Satan--than Karl Rove.
Rove has finally gone over the edge, put the jacket on him, & haul him away.
Step 1 - denial. I hope Karl was more coherent when explaining to Adelson and the Koch brothers why their PAC contributions turned out to be a bad investment. Pitiful.
