Have you guys seen this?
It wasn't just math that failed the Romney campaign on election night.
Which outside spending groups got a good return on their investment?
Sen. Marco Rubio is heading to Iowa.
Among those winning Maine state Senate candidates Rachel talked about last night? The World of Warcraft candidate.
Another George Bush appears to be dipping his toe into politics.
Sometimes kids just really need a soccer ball.

I found this story particularly shocking, yet kind of predictable, when I read it this morning:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/helaineolen/2012/11/08/mitt-romneys-campaign-cancels-staffers-credit-cards-in-the-middle-of-the-night/
So what?
Now that's just cold...
That's why Mitt is so rich, he's a cheap jerk.
That's exactly right. Obviously you've never had a business.
Why do you think Apple makes stuff in China not here? Because they are cheap. It's a necessary quality for business, or failure is certain.
Those people almost certainly worked from sunrise to midnight without a break for the past 6 months. But they had nothing to offer the rich guy in control after about 8:30.
Like earlier posters have said... If this shocks you, you just don't know any rich people. NOTHING is more important than their money, not friendship, not love, certainly not some schmuck that was lucky enough to have had a job due to the rich guy's generosity.
Robert Ringer in Winning Through Intimidation would call Romney a Type #2 person.
You're absolutely right. I don't have a business. But I do know how to treat people who help me with kindness and decency. And that's probably why I'll never be an extremely rich person, either.
As I said, shocking, yet predictable.
Shooter doesn't have a heart, but it is good to see that he is back. The original Curmudgeon doesn't seem to want to talk about all of his crap from the election cycle, namely his ideas were proved wrong, so he has moved on to personal cruelty. Shooter, we thought you ran away; so good you stayed to play, so try acting human.
You're going to find out that losing the election doesn't mean I'm wrong. I have no doubt the Europeans thought spending money they don't have, was kind also. Conservatives are shocked that the day has finally come when the American voter will give themselves free stuff regardless the consequences.
OK. IF that's the way you want things to go why not do it well. We spent just over a trillion dollars on 83 means-tested poverty programs. Why not take the trillion and send a check to every household that files a tax return?
That check would come to $10,000. Wouldn't that fix poverty? Why would anyone want to give money to DC rather than Americans, yet oddly enough I'm not seeing any support for it here. What do you think?
Shooter: I see you have picked up on the Faux news talking points of 'free stuff' already, but you still have not explained why your party lost the election! I see that you move on, without ever really dealing with what you have said in the past, or proving anything. Willard got 'free stuff;' The olympics were bailed out; Bain got handouts and subsidies; the companies that Bain ruined got government money, then the government had to support the people that lost their jobs. Dude, what are you really talking about? You do nothing but talk about money, or how you don't want to spend money, but you never really deal with the human element. This life is about people, not your bank account. I can't remember you ever having a caring moment, for anybody but yourself......
There there, Shooter.
To help deal with your anger and grief, here are some pictures of others people that share your sadness. Maybe you could find solace in empathy, because...
If it's a legitimate sadness, the human body has ways to try and shut the whole thing down.
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/11/07/us-election-2012-romney-supporters_n_2087016.html
Interesting Lesman. You're going to avoid comment on my scheme to alleviate poverty?
As for why Romney lost, it seems conservatives decided to stay home rather than the Obama people. Apparently they decided Romney wasn't any better than Obama.
And regarding the human element, I don't need to worry about the human element. Humans will do what they want to do, it's called freedom. I worry about what I 'm going to have to pay Govt for free stuff giveaways.
Yes Shooter, you have a 'scheme' not a plan. You use words like 'freedom' as buzzwords, but you don't actually help anyone to think free; your heart is in your pocketbook, and you will vote from your ass, not your brain...... The conservatives didn't 'stay home;' your team lost, and you don't have the balls to admit it or deal with it. P.S. Your plan sucks.......
FOX is using Sandy to make POTUS Obama appear to be unqualified to be POTUS; Rush Windbag says 51% of people in this country want free things because they believe in Santa Claus; Insanity Hannity says POTUS Obama won by dividing this country; and Nut case Glenn Beck says for people to by farmland and get a gun. WTF!
So now the Beckster is trying to push a new real estate bubble. The problem is that it is only useful if you plan to actually farm the land, which is a lot of work and takes great skill in many fields (including knowing biological systems). So I doubt that many of his listeners would be able to survive for very long without significant outside assistance. I guess the gold sales are not as lucrative as they were before.
Sign of a return to normalcy: I see in tonight's schedule that at the end of the show you'll be sending us back to prison!
(cue theme to Superjail)
what no cocktail moment
Perhaps we get to head back to prison, cocktail in hand.
Can't I have a cocktail in Jail? Every Friday should be an Otis segment......
Hey, just to let you know, there will be a "Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell" after our show tonight. I'm not sure why your listing got it wrong.
Thanks for the update, Tricia.
Can we not go to jail, after? I'm kinda tired of that.
I want something a bit more optimistic, like fancy techie stuff.
Maybe Lawrence is in jail? Got a little over-excited with the celebrating?
But seriously, MSNBC often gets mis-listed in every listing format I see.
Lawrence in Jail with a cocktail??? It rhymes, and it is delicious!
If George P. Bush is running in 2016... I pray that the Miami Herald still has an article of him Breaking and Entering into his former girlfriend's house in the middle of the night when she came back from college with her new beau. He was found standing over her bed looking at them... police were called charges were filed and later dropped....what a F'ing family tree!
Just like they expose the Kennedy's for rape, murder, addiction, etc......what's good for the goose......
Paul Ryan doing a budget plan himself might as well have been a budget for a dictator since we have House and Senate Budget Committees who work with other elected leaders, State and Federal, who look out for our State and Federal interests in the budget. (Ryan also knew his Federal Budget needed Presidential approval when he proposed it two years ago, but dismissed working with that fact, as easily as he dismissed 13% from aid to Military Families in his budget.)
Without taking into account our State and State Governor’s needs, both Republican and Democratic, what Federal assistance States would need for our National Guard and other services and programs, Paul Ryan decided ‘him self’ what Federal assistance States would get.
It is further, offensive, that the majority of the current Republican leaders would review the Ryan plan ‘them selves’ and claim just because it saves money and balances the budget, vote for it their selves, without involving other Federal and State leaders in the plan before the Congressional Vote. (The fact that Republican leaders decided many people would have challenged income levels to use for shelter, food and other living needs to make Ryan’s budget work, only proves that their budget did not work for the Government of The United States, but perhaps, North Korea’s Government would like to look at the Republican plan that cuts all social programs.)
To mask the arrogance in this budget as a need to make a sacrifice to Republican constituents is further ignorance in leadership and blatant disrespect for a Democratic government itself.
Watching Morning Joe, as usual. I just purchased "Why Romney Lost," by David Frum, on Kindle. Yup. Frum's appearance and insights sold me, LOL.
It is very entertaining just watching the Right Wing heads explode.
To those who know history, the similarities between the current time and the administration of Franklin Delano Roosevelt are striking. On January 11, 1944, President Roosevelt in his State of the Union Address proposed a Second Bill of Rights which he termed an Economic Bill of Rights. He believed that Americans should be entitled to basic assurances as citizens of the most prosperous and greatest country. President Roosevelt, who was quite ill at the time, was not able to deliver the speech in person. It was a radio address. President Roosevelt would die in office just over a year later with his vision unfulfilled.
In his second term, President Obama should focus on achieving the vision for America that Franklin Roosevelt was unable to fulfill. Listen to President Roosevelt's proposal in his own words. I hope that President Obama and the Democratic Party will adopt this agenda.

Congrats to Colleen Lachowitz. "Help will be given at Hogwarts to those that deserve it." On a more serious note 94 million eligible people did not vote. That is more than enough to overcome most gerrymandered districts. Get them involved for 2014 even if they only vote down ticket.
Whoever was the project manager on Orca hopefully will have a long career in the republican party machine.
I am a Level 90 Draenei Elemental Shaman, and I approve of Colleen Lachowitz.
However, If I see Santiaga in my travels through Azeroth, and she's flagged...she's toast.
All Hail the Alliance!
Cheers!
Half the Country is Totally Proud of You all! And, the other half, many of whom reap the benefits of Medicare, Social Security, Police & Firemen, FEMA, Teachers and Road Workers and will benefit from Obamacare as well will be proud, too - if they just fess up to it.
its funny, i have a very right wing conservative as a friend on my facebook who completely cannot seem to see what went wrong in the election. It was all the democrats faults. Then it was because Mitt was too moderate to win the vote. My response: "then why did your party nominate him in the primaries... it certainly not my party who did" . All she could say was don't blame her, its not her fault, she voted for Santorum. Yikes, i didn't realize she was that crazytown!
Brent, if you would like to see Roosevelts dream you may want to take a look at Europe. Five countries are going bankrupt. The U. S. has a 16 trillion dollar debt and unfunded libilities are over 120 Trillion dollars. Each tax payers share is 1 million dollars, you may want to think about getting a second job considering your views of Roosevelt.
Orca bit the hand that feeds....
http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns-haberman/?hp=bh
It is funny that Willard was touted to be such a technocrat, and that he was to be the golden child that would bring the country back economically, with his business prowess. Yet he couldn't get Orca off the ground, it was not beta tested, it did not work, and it was crashed all day. Willard's ground game was mush! Orca was supposed to computerize the voter tally sheets, then pinpoint the exact people that needed to still vote, then staffers were to mobilize. It was just another exploded bomb in a campaign of failed ideas................
I'm upset at Obama!! Because if Carl Rove is right and Obama worked to suppress the vote, he sure did a terrible job of it. ;-)
yYou mean there are MORE Bush offspring to run for office!?!?!?!
my permanent chant is "no more bushes' "no more bushes' "no more bushes'
Komrade Karl needs to have Lee Atwater and Breitbart scraped off the bottom of his shoes.....................
Mitt Romney was right - he did not need to submit his tax returns. The people were right - they were not going to elect such a person President
He burnt them at a Weenie roast on the beach......

I.E Let Shooter 242 know about this! Ha, ha.....
So the President won the popular and the electoral college...the Republicans in the house lost the popular vote but won the gerrymander college?
The gerrymandering goes both ways. In Illinois the Democrats picked seats in usually red areas in both state and federal offices.

Don't the owners of a superpac get to keep whatever funds are left over? I seem to recall that when the law was set up.
Planned Parenthood PACs got a great return on their campaign contributions-- of course, they were using money to fight the GOP losers: Akin, Mourdock and their friends.
Now there is a call for GOP to use delicacy when dealing with reproductive issues? Seriously, the GOP is lost.
So does the fact that some of the SuperPacs (mostly unions and Pro-Democrat) that got 60 to 85 percent "return" on their investments mean that they "bought" the election? It seems some people think that when they think of SuperPacs - well, here at least when it is a Republican SuperPac.
Waitaminnit -- Over half a million Arizona ballots haven't been counted yet?

Si; Ami Bera leads Dan Lungren in Cal 7 by 185 votes, but there are thousands of absentees that have not been counted.
