WOW! Beautifully done!
Wow, Rachel......Love it.
Awsome! I want a Poster!
Me too!! Laura, I know you aren't supposed to promote anyone's products, but just this once? We all would love to know where to get this!!
Hear Hear. Excellent work Peter.
Well done Peter. And, of course, Rachel. I loved this portion of the show the other night!!!
I want a print of that, too! The best political speech I've ever heard.
Thank you Peter, I think you have created the next iteration of “Yes We Can!”
super awesome! This now hangs in my cubicle at work!
I just copies it to my email and sent it around to all. I don't do face book. My son does and he might put it there.
I though this was so beautifully put Rachel, that I immediately transcribed it and used your words (with acknowledgement) as my facebook status. Naturally, a LOT of my right wing friends cringed as I did...thank you.
WOW, OK was tickled pink with the props election night, and this, well, I'm totally blown over. THis is gorgeously brilliant and oh so Rachel. Forget about the underwear ads, this belongs in Times Square.
I just printed it out. This is great.
Sigh,
I can't get a printer to hook up to this little notebook. I really wish there was somewhere I could purchase a poster.....
Thank you for the kind words, everyone!
I made this for the "We," and to be FREE. I want to memorize this speech and keep it as a reminder to keep progressing.
I have the vertical and horizontal designs print ready. I will post a download link when I get back to work Monday.
Have a good weekend.
Thanks Peter.....we will be waiting.
We that voted for Obama will have to ask the 49% to forgive us for our betrayal. We are selfish and greedy supporters for a man that can cater to our wants and things. We are not accepting to the idea of considering others that interfere with our evil intentions. We choose to neglect the U. S. Constitution when it does not support our "gay", self serving, and naive beliefs. For this, we do not deserve to enjoy the "FREEDOMS" that have been protected over and over again by the "American Soldier". We can certainly understand how those that are not like us, cannot understand us. For we live a bubble- wrapped mind-set. One that doesn't include any love for others in our land, even when the others are worried about this Nation, worried about the future of our children, and even when deep down, they are worried about us too. Worried about getting by with enough to survive without taking a handout. Someday maybe, just maybe, if not to late, we will all wake up and help OUR AMERICA, instead of hurting her! Four years ago, I too was a supporter of Obama. I will not concede to follow a party that chooses to serve only themselves any longer. I am embarrassed to be a democrat!
~ signed by a democrat going Republican For America
Mike,
Get it into your head - YOU LOST!!
As for all that other BS - you keep believing that if it makes you sleep at night! Frankly you sound like the losers after football games who want to start fistfights with everyone because their team lost!
When you find out how false all that propaganda you posted is, you are going to be having even a harder time than you are having now! I pity you!!
once,
Once we were a Great Nation. Once again, we will be after four more years of failure is over.
This process needed to happen. Once, it's like this... All those like you are so similar to those selfish, mean, and confused folks in the movie "Ten Commandments". We all know the scene, when Moses came down from the mountain and many of his people were partying, dancing, and worshipping a false God. Then what happened??? So, don't pity me, I will be just fine... You, on the other hand will always be a greedy beggar, grasping on to whatever opportunity comes around that allows your irrelevance to spew!
Yes, Got it into my head after the election...WE THE PEOPLE HAVE LOST!
No, Mike, WE THE PEOPLE have WON! WE THE PEOPLE are white, hispanic, black, Asian, middle eastern, women, young, and old and we all WON!!
The only people who lost were old white guys!
There was NO WAY a true Democrat could have ever voted for what the Republican Party represented this time! If you turned "Republican", it wasn't because of the policies of the Republican Party!!
I WAS a Republican until I saw how my party had changed and no longer represented WE THE PEOPLE, but rather was becoming a "tool" for old white guys!!
once,
I thank you for leaving the Republican Party. In reading your reasoning, it's a clear choice you belong with them, and I do not!
In my state, we too have Whites, Hispanics, Blacks, Asians, etc..., but not a single county was won by Obama. Our citizens are hard-working and business is thriving due to our State Representatives connection to their People. And..., if people with feebleminds like yours, and the "disconnected to and unAmerican" Obama policies don't interfere, we'll stay strong.
I believe you left the Republican party because you finally have some support for your gay issues! So, good luck with that.
Mike, you're just a troll.
Rule number one of the internet: Don't feed the trolls.
Annabee... tara...., Was it the "feebleminds" or the "gay" part that hurt your feeling?
Awwwe, I'm so sorry.
Rachel you are solid. So solid. Keep telling people the beautiful truth.
I feel like I need a huge DETOX from all the lies and theatrics over the last year. Excuse me, I need a shower now.
This was certainly one of the best laundry lists ever Rachael! I've read your compliation over numerous time and I find it has a very nice calming effect on my post-election state of mind. Your poetic documentation is absolutely chock full of sweet victories, almost as many as the current Republican Party is chock full o' nuts!
Thanks TRMS!
Brilliant and empassioned speech, artfully displayed. Every time I read it, I feel like we won all over again! Thank you, Rachel and Peter!
What happened to Trayvon Martin. That killer was released and disappeared. Why is that?
Rachel- there's more to add to your picture... We should not complain if we voted for Obama , when we all find ourselves without health insurance when employers reduce our hours to 30 per week to get around this wonderful Obamacare, and over taxing (millionaires and billionaires) as punishment for success because when the "American Dream" now comes with a small print to "support the lazy". By the way; Where do you think your paychecks originate from??? We should not use the People's Constitution for supporting gay marriage, or any other reason than intended.. We should not complain when the department of enery, etc. reduces our ability in the future to even feed our own People.. We should not complain when we are attacked on our own soil because of "defense cuts" now (and unfortunately in the future).. About the "self deporting of ILLEGALS", "trade war with China", etc. comments, We should not complain with the damage to America implications of these, if we voted for Obama.. We should not hypocritically complain about anothers actions, if we ourselves (msnbc host) unfairly push cruel untruths onto our viewers and readers.. WE SHOULD NOT DEPEND ON THE HONORABLE AMERICANS THAT STOOD FOR PRIDE, TO COME TO OUR RESCUE, WHEN WE THAT SUPPORTED THE CAMPAIGN OF OBAMA come to see the reality of the fears the other half of the Country were smart enough to foresee! Facts are: The only reason Obama was reelected was due to the 90% of African Americans not willing to accept that the first African American President was A FAILURE, and, That the 70% of Latino families to the more than 12,000,000 Illegals falsely believe Obama will respect them in the future! There... I said what the proud half of Americans believe, and I am darn proud to live in a state where Obama did not when even one single counties vote!
Give it up Mike you were on the loosing team. Better luck in four years. Grow up and accept the truth. America was and still is the greatest nation in the world. Mabe you should just leave if you hate this country so much. Estas loco in la cabeza!
Go away, Mike the plumber. Haven't 'you people' gotten tired of trolling and trying to start fights with 'we liberals'? The election is over and the best man won! Leave us alone now and go sign that secession petition going around. We'll find a deserted island somewhere and 'you people' can all go there and drink the kool-aid and live happily ever after. 'We people' are very happy looking out for each other and honoring our war heroes and helping to advance technology and taking care of Mother Earth. Look at all the money 'we' will save not having to taking of you. Buh-bye now.
On the bright side he can look forward to Hilary Clinton running the country in 2016 and 2020. The GOP is a dying party. The American people are tired of the GOP and their ancient agenda.
Mike,
You sound very much like another "plumber" that was featured in the 2008 election. His positions were completely wrong, as are yours. As to your points,
- Employers won't reduce workers' hours to get around health care. Most employees contribute to their insurance. Besides, cutting your workforce output by 25% isn't a very good way to turn a profit.
- Your idea of "over taxing" the wealthy means a 4% increase, a return to the Clinton administration tax rates. I don't remember anyone going broke because of that. I honestly doubt that four percent will impose much of a hardship on the upper income brackets.
- News flash: we did not amend the U.S. Constitution to allow gay marriage; it was an action by three states to allow same-sex marriage and one to not repeal an existing law. States, Mike, not the country.
- I don't know if your DOE reference is about biofuel production's effect on food prices or competition between crops, but it sounds a bit like the "dinosaur farts" guy's theory. As we are consistently among the top food producers and exporters in the world, it is embarrassing that people go hungry within our borders.
- If you remember, we WERE attacked on our own soil, and it wasn't because of defense cuts. It was because the Bush administration ignored the intelligence. Nobody is putting the military at risk; we spend more on defense than all the other developed contries combined. Obama increased defense spending in his first term, and will maintain the funding necessary to ensure our safety. There is no evidence to the contrary.
- The Obama administration deported more than 400,000 illegal aliens in the first term, more than any other administration, and twice that of Bush. Before you complain about Obama exempting 800K children from deportation, remember that Reagan was the one who granted amnesty to 3 million illegals.
- Obama brought more unfair trade lawsuits against China (and won them all, so far) than at any other time in our history. Is that what you mean by a "trade war?" Romney is the one who would have started a trade war with his tough-guy posturing and no foreign policy experience.
- Well, you finally showed your true colors(or lack thereof) when you got to the race issue. Your contentions about African-American and Latino voters' motivations for voting Democratic are based on pure speculation. Our lily-white majority is headed for minority status and you can't deal with it.
- I assume that you live in Alaska, Oklahoma, Utah or West Virginia, as they are the only states where Obama didn't carry a single county. (To be fair, Nebraska and Wyoming only gave him one.) That accounted for a towering combination of 9.1 million popular and 21 electoral votes. It really surprised me that he won 8 of the 10 wealthiest counties in the country, however. I guess they didn't see him as the threat that you do.
As to your "proud half" statement, I would be willing to wager that a majority of ballots cast for the Republican candidate were more a vote against Obama than they were for Romney. I have a strange feeling that yours was, as well. Nobody really wanted Mitt, not even his own party. I am glad you like where you live, though. That way, there's a good chance that you will stay there and continue to be as irrelevant in future elections as you were in this one.
Emilililio... psssst! GREENCARD!!! lol. About leaving, maybe I will. I hear there's gonna be a land-rush in Mexico soon.
tommysg...ROTFLMAO! Funny how I can't quite figure out who to call Prez. Obama, Clinton, Springsting??? If he's so wonderful, why all the "people props" to get elected?
tara... You're just confused. If you'll look outside your bubble, you will see what Americans are truly tired of!
Thunderingnerd... Sorry, but I had to bold that part of your user-name. It sounds very similar to a plumbing term that probably best describes your beliefs. Wow, you're long winded. Bravo! Like (tara), you too are stuck in that bubble, or maybe just unwilling to grab the top of the fence and look over. C'mon, just a peek!
Anyhow, all of you, enjoy the bliss you're feeling now. Soon, you can feel the guilt too! Unless, of course, you're not able to acknowledge that either.
I grow tired of trying to explain to the disrespectful, hateful republicans about the rest of the nation's human rights and the need for all of america's desires to be addressed!...Not just the "Rich, White, Male Establishment!"...And I would caution these ones about their tone as to what it is that they think they have a right to speak!...The election is "OVER!"...So suck it up!...Geez Lueez!...I am a black man born in the year of 1967. Only twice,(and now a third with President Obama) in the history of this country, has the candidate that I personally backed, EVER BEEN VOTED IN TO OFFICE!...So that means for a majority of my life, I lived in disappointment!...I didn't go"All Ballistic!" And threaten the end of the world and all of that B.S! So these irrational, republican party, supporters are losing a lot of respect from the rest of the American voting public!...And the use of racially descriptive rhetoric is eerily similar to the "3/5ths human" LIE that was told to justify the inferior treatment of all black descendants, which was the core foundation upon which some whites still use for the institutionalization of racism which is encouraged and practiced in secret and sometimes in public by a vast majority of the white society!...An embarrassing stain upon the undergarment of American history, this trend seems to be still in full effect here, even after these days of a second term for the first black President of the United States of America!...A potential testament to the reaction of this group to the possibility of another President which happens to be of another racial background, like Asian, or Latino, or even a Woman!...I really do not have any sympathy for these backward facing people, who are deliberately misled into going against the grain of progress to suit some warped version of the world where the majority of the population bow to the power and control of a Rich minority of hidden, greed driven, mammon worshiping, men!...These ones, using every divisive tool at their disposal(racism, sexism, class-ism,...etc.) to ensure that they achieve that goal, are "Hell Bent" on doing WHATEVER is necessary to..."DIVIDE AND CONQUER!"...BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!...When will these working class peons for the republicans wake up to that truth?...I personally, am really not going to hold my breath for these ones to "evolve" into the decent human beings like those written about within the American Constitution! And I am just one guy!...And I see a lot of dead people...Especially if the republican party supporters continue on talking in such disrespectful tones!...I am just sayin'!...This activity is so Close to a Global Nuclear-Level Event that it is Crazy!...But I am just a Messenger...Peace!
Robert-
I too believe rascism is still alive, and will be as long as it is used as an excuse to underachieve. How can it become non-existent with words of hate like those from the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, etc.? At some point, like it or not, even African Americans will have to commit to either being Americans in whole, or remain victims of rascism. This is 2012! Not everything a White man says is racially driven!
As I've stated before on other post, I too voted for the first Black President in 2008. But, because I feel he has failed on too many levels to be reelected, and express those feelings, I am considered by you as rascist. Had the President for the last four years been White, and I voiced the same concerns, there would have been Whites accusing me of being a Black rascist. My point being made!
A respectful challenge to you- As I listen and/or watch both Fox and Msnbc, I try to receive their messages as not only a White man, but as all other Races would. Do you? If not, try to and only then will you be receptive to an open minded opinion.
My vote and performance of any candidate for our President is ALWAYS, ALWAYS based upon; Will he be the "Best Man (or) Woman for protecting our Constitution, our People, and our Future Generation!
C'mon Newsvine, fix your spellcheck.
Mike, you say "My vote and performance of any candidate for our President is ALWAYS, ALWAYS based upon; Will he be the "Best Man (or) Woman for protecting our Constitution, our People, and our Future Generation!"
You've also said (at least twice) here that you voted for Barack Obama in 2008. Can you please describe in greater detail the qualities of Obama that led you to believe in 2008 that he would be the best choice in that election for ensuring those protections? What about him and his message attracted your vote in that year?
Hello Teri...
In answer to your request on my post, I will begin by asking if Barack Obama was your choice in 2008? If so, you probably were also pulled in to him by all the "hope" promises just like me. The majority of us were.
I remember reading several statements he made beginning from 2006 that seemed very sincere. One particular speech he made to Congress in 2006, involved his complaints of the excessive spending by our Government, and how borrowing money from other countries to finance our bad choices and leaving the debt on the backs our children and grandchildren was very wrong. I thought to myself, "man someone that really gets it". On several occasions, he talked as if he was going to mend the differences between the divides of the parties. "We are not democrats or republicans, we are Americans" he said. That gave me a lot of hope for a brighter beginning for our Country. I remember him talking of "immigration reform...". These were impressive points of hope and change. These are just some of the qualities I thought I was seeing in him.
I believe it also important that I include some reasons why I could not vote for him this election... Just like approximately 70% of America's voice did not want this scary thing called "Obamacare", I believed he spent way to much valuable time forcing it thru the process that is specifically designed to protect us from any abuse of power. Afterwards, everything I was watching broke down my initial belief in his intent. As much as I didn't want to see him fail to follow through with all the promises of hope, his actions eventually convinced me of just that. It was difficult for me to accept the idea of being so wrong about this man.
Anyway, here we are, the Country has never been more divided since I have been voting. He used some absolutely horrible tactics to get reelected, along with situations that he should have been much more Presidential on, he chose to put on the back burner only to preserve his chances for reelection. Our Country has a 16,000,000,000,000 debt over our children's heads following his term. Way too many folks are hurting now. Way, Way too many people are jobless for 2012. He just don't get it. Why not? Why can't he work to make us feel he cares for us? Why won't he help build us into a PROUD PEOPLE, instead of a needy/wanty people? I want to believe in my President, but how can I when I can not respect him for his decisions!
I've heard all the character bashing of Romney, especially on this forum. I know he was not the best choice for the republican party to have represent them as a challenger to an incumbent, but in my opinion he would have been the better of the two for our economy. I am convinced he would have worked with Congress to get things resolved. In the areas he needed, he would have allowed them to do their job as they were elected to do by their states. That's how it is supposed to be. Too many that voted for Obama, don't understand this, or don't want to.
Thank you Teri for your respectful reply to my post.
Mike
Well deserved. This was the best monologue I've heard in so long. Maddow's a genius.
I LOVE Rachel Maddow Show. I could listen to Rachel forever. I always learn from her.
I want to so print this, frame it and hang it on my office wall and through out my building. I am a USA Print Manufacturing Company that employs special needs people (in honor of my daughter) and returning vets--I was a minority voice against other area businesses and stood firm with confidence that we would prevail. Together we stood up for what was right, together we stood up to protect the rights of the most vulnerable, and together we helped America win!
Racheal, You done a great job. I feel that we need to get political payroll and pension under control. These people do not deserve what they are getting paid. These positions used to be voluntary, now we pay them for doing nothing and give them full pension and benefits after only 5 years.
Hey, anybody see all those petitions at the White House website, "We the People." There are 29 at last count asking that each state (from Arizona to Utah) be allowed to secede from the union. It appears that these people believe that all you need is 25,000 signatures on a petition and the WH will allowed them to leave (see the Daily Caller article). Now, when Gore and Kerry lost, I don't seem to remember any petitions for secession. Wow.
Just Save & Print (now behind my desk)
WE love it!
Too Cool!
I wrote an open letter on FB (I know). It was basically addressing people very close to me who had a really bad attitude on 11/7. Can't imagine why. It took me some time and research gathering (to provide links) to compose my letter and during my research, Rachel's opening comments on this 11/7 show made me feel great. I included them at the end of my letter. LOVE that so many others felt that way, too and love this! Its my new desktop wallpaper!
Sad, republicans are unable to read such print.
