Florida finally finished counting the vote. and Gov. Rick Scott finally admits there's a problem with the state's election system.
Rep. Allen West still won't concede.

1) You rock.

nice! made me laugh. XD
Rachel, Allen West needs to concend the people doesn't want him anymore. All that crazy talk about the Democrates was wrong and now we have a Democrate that won over him...I knew Florida was going for the President anyway. Have a good Monday!!!
Mr. Bean: Wild West says he won't concede because of the election not being 'certified' by the secretary of state yet, even though he does not have the margin of error to force a recall. West says he will fight it legally, but I have not seen any RNCC lawyer mobilization, nor have I seen any other republicants rush to his side. So, if he does not give up today, he will end up looking worse, in case he ever wants to run for senate or governor. The gracious loser lives to run another day; West can't fathom this through his hate for the other side. This is pathetic.
Democrates? Wasn't that Socrates no-good younger brother?
Anyway, in my rich fantasy life, West tries to be seated and sworn in at the start of the next Congress and makes such a scene that he has to be dragged out by Capitol police.

One can only hope.
Will Hillary run?
Sorry, Madam Secretary, it is no longer your decision-the nation needs outstanding leadership, and, baby you da one!
I'd rather have Hils on the Supremes, as she would be the gift that keeps on giving. Hils deserves a break in not having to run for something; it takes too much out of her at this stage in her life. She needs a vacation.....
No, Lesman. At 65-68 (depending on when the vacancy occurs), she's too old for the SC. Obama will need to appoint someone who's around 20 years younger. Then, that person will be on the SC for many years.
Absolutely agree she needs to go to the Supreme Court.
I have great respect for MSNBC.
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/ 11/12/business/media/msnbc-its-ratings-rising-gains-ground-on-fox-news.html?pagewanted=1&_r=0
Here's a link that works.
The article's characterization of MSNBC as the "anti-Fox" is highly misleading. It would take far more than slanting left to make it the mirror-image of Fox.
Seems obvious to me -- Hillary on the Supreme Court.
Agreed, the gift that keeps on giving. It is too hard to run for president, and she has done her time......
Rachel Maddow....you're just awesome!!
She has my vote for Governor of Mass., one day......
Have you read George Lakoff's book "The Political Mind - Why you can't understand 21st Century American Politics with an 18th Century Mind?" I highly recommend it!
I try to watch your show every chance I can. Almost addicted to it. lol
I love your show.
Ummmm, so what was the ultimate goal in Fla. before the election, Gov. ??????????
RMS Staff! Please take time to look at this column from Politico, brilliant assessment of GOP history and tactics.

Fightn' the good fight!
Most people don't seem to agree with James Bopp, the Legal Mind behind the Citizens United decision what he states: "they <the American people> could care less about campaign finance." as found by a Reuters poll: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/05/24/us-usa-campaign-spending-idUSBRE84N1RB20120524
Work is underway to get a constitutional amendment to address; but we need not wait for that. As the Reuter's poll indicates, this is largely a bi-partisan issue. We should urge the administration and congress to support adapting public campaign financing to inoculate us from the effects of the ruling by ensuring that all sides have equal funding which would remove much incentive to the large contributions in the first place. This could be at least in part paid for by taxing the donations themselves. http://wh.gov/9pAb
Free money is not free speech.................. Show me where it says that in the constitution.
A constitutional amendment would be nice, but so would putting a dent in the number of right-wing Justices.
Um yeah, I already received a pdf update from UBS (investment bank) that noted no less than three times just how close this race was (sharply pointing out that Obama had the closest victory margin in history at the time they took their numbers and published - pre FL count - and the stating how that could affect his mandate.) To say that the spending had "no effect" is disingenuous. The GOP will likely spend the next four years harping on the closeness of the race and ignoring the funds spent to win it. Fortunately I live in a state that has already requested we ditch Citizens United. Here's an even better argument against it:
There's a very big difference between big business and unions - the two big players for large funding outside of individuals. Union members have the right to both vote on issues and can sign away union membership so they don't pay in to a disagreed upon political issue without losing their union rights. Meanwhile, only a very small number of people participating in the running of a company make decisions on how the company will invest financially. Most shareholders aren't given full information in advance, and aren't allowed to vote on whether or not the company supports a political position or candidate. In one case, there is true representation of the individuals within the organization, in the other there simply isn't. The "free speech" is only given to a select minority who control the funds.
Looking at the Republican bias in all those polls that Nate silver reviewed, perhaps it is understandable that they thought they would win.
Loved you on the Colbert Report! Keep em real Rachel!
Congrats TRMS, and MSNBC, on whipping Faux in the 24 to 51 demo. 3 nights in a row is a big feat; you will be number one, one day......

Rachel, here is what is a bit puzzling for me, if Mitt Romney is such a great job creator, why hasn't he done so during the last 7 years he has been running for President? Instead of blaming Obama for the unemployment, why does he have to be elected President before he can create the millions of jobs he keeps promising? It has been said that since those in position to be job creators are the 1%, they can manipulate when and how these jobs(?) are created, and since they are for the most part Republicans, we know what is happening now with a Democratic President that they vowed to do everything to make him fail and to make him a one term President.
Remember: Willard said, on video, that he was "unemployed, too!" He was also AWOL in the last year of his governorship.
From the middle of his third year in office, Willard was already seeking a higher office, and completely forgotten his current duties. That's partially how he ended up with a -59% approval rating on leaving office, but not nearly the whole story. His Democratic successor still holds the seat.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Governorship_of_Mitt_Romney
Remember when the Romneys chose to under-deduct and overpay their tax bill because Mitt was running for president? Previously, he insisted that, "I don't pay more than are legally due and frankly if I had paid more than are legally due I don't think I'd be qualified to become president." Last week, the voters affirmed that he’s not qualified to be president. Have the Romneys filed an amended return so they can legally get what they’re entitle to back from the IRS? Perhaps, it was a campaign staffer’s job to drop the return in the mailbox on his way home last Wednesday morning just before he discovered that his credit card had been cancelled.
To Mr. Allen West:
Give up. Ya lost. Go home. sit down. Twiddle your thumbs. Have a beverage with your family...a tea party with your kids sounds good.
Where is Shooter242 to defend this guy? Has he lost his mojo?
dear gov. scott -
don't waste the state's money having your staff 'look in to' ways to improve the voting situation.
instead, take a free look in the mirror and reverse the decisions you made changing the election rules this time and you'll have it all solved in a couple of minutes.
glad to be of service to you.
The last 4 years they played obstructionism, now that they are seeing the reality show, the GOP are ready to do the bipartisan things? Very funny those guys are worse flip flopper that I have never seen! To Mr. Allen West God does not like ugly, sir! What the heck with you? Shame can kill, do you know that? Can't stand to be a loser? Ridiculous!!!
I so love your show Rachel!!!! I don't think I could've made it through either of the last 2 Presidental Election without you!! sure do miss Keith O tho! Love you Rach! hope to get a hand shake on 1/21/13!!
Allen West, I hope you'll pay for your own legal costs and not try to "stick it to the taxpayers".
Actually, I wish you'd just go away, or perhaps in your own words "get the hell out of the United States".
I am surprised it was even close. Or am I?
Listen to Frum, the "followership" in Republican Party: http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2012/11/frum-republicans-lied-to-by-conservative-entertainment-149120.html
Then we have those blaming Frum, oh it's David Frum, he doesn't blame the liberal media…. Denial, they may never figure this out. Whatever, maybe enough Rs will listen to get busy on the issues that have been left on Obama and Dems to fix.
Or, we can look to the future and could be watching Congressional approval ratings gradually tick upward coinciding with Democratic Congressional seat gains.
Personally, I don't appreciate having the Rs bashing all the minorities, all of them. Maybe they'll figure it out, maybe not. I just really wish the folks would ask themselves "Was David Frum right? Was I DUPED by conservative entertainers?"
I can't listen to that stuff. I have my answer, it's up to them to find their own.
