Yesterday afternoon, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told the media he demands additional information about the September attack in Benghazi. At the exact same time, McCain was skipping a classified intelligence briefing on the September attack in Benghazi.
So, what happened? Apparently, the Republican's office scheduled his press stunt at the wrong time, so McCain forgot to be where he was supposed to be.
Senator John McCain is demanding answers on the Benghazi attack, but his office tells ABC News he missed a classified briefing on the subject because of a "scheduling error."
The classified briefing was held on Wednesday before the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee -- of which Senator McCain is a member -- and lasted three hours. It featured testimony by officials from the State Department, the Pentagon, the CIA and the National Counterterrorism Center.
During part of the briefing, McCain was holding a press conference demanding answers about the administration's handling of the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya on Step. 11 that killed four Americans, including US Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens.
So, let me get this straight. Yesterday, McCain said Susan Rice is "not very bright." This morning, McCain said the Obama administration is "incompetent." But given a chance to get answers about Benghazi, this towering intellect and model of competence forgot to show up for a briefing, and blamed a scheduling mishap?
McCain added today that there are additional hearings lined up on Benghazi, and he definitely plans to be there. What a relief.
As for McCain's calls for a special new committee to investigate the violence, many McCain allies -- Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) -- already disagree with him, and the Arizona Republican doesn't have many allies in his crusade to smear Susan Rice, either.

Another embarrassment for our state of Arizona! People, just imagine if he were POTUS! This is absolute obfuscation and obstruction at its finest. Let's blow smoke about a non-issue and try to start of fire so we don't have to move this country forward. Let's just keep everything the way it was in 1970. What part of "you lost this election and your party is losing ground rapidly" does he not get? Obviously, he and the other old white guys are so entrenched in their backwards thinking they can no longer move. Picture this: McCain and his minions all standing in fresh cement, people around them are all yelling "move, get out while you still can before the cement hardens!" They just refuse to listen and stand there like deer in headlights. Now it becomes obvious, the cement has hardened and they can no longer move at all. They are done. They have just killed themselves and their party.
Time for the old douche to Retire...
Term Limits!!!! Time for NEW Blood and Term Limits on the Old Fogies who forgot what they went into politics for, in the first place!
He's still upset about 2008. He still wants to appear relevant in Washington and the Senate when in reality - like many of his fellow Republicans - he's completely out of touch and just wants the limelight again. he's a smart guy in some ways but makes blatant mistakes without thinking first. Too bad.
We need to put these boys out of work. 2014
Capt. McCain's current term expires at the end of 2016, so we've got to put up with his ramblings and scheduling errors for another 4 years, at least (hopefully not any longer).
To quote the musical "1776" "SIT DOWN, JOHN"
sorry..couldn't help myself...just keeps running through my head...
Senator McCain has been common sense and does try to work with the Left most of the time. What happened to him? We should have known he was going down hill, when he let Sarah Palin on the ticket. He must really be getting bad. That has been 4 years. Hope he gets a good physical before he really damages his reputation.
America needs to get the rest of the Grumpy Old Poopyheads out of Congress ASAP.
John, John, John, try using the alarm and calendar in your phone.

The first step John is admitting you have a problem.
Note on body language, many bullies, and it's indication of of lack of self confidence, lift them selves onto their toes when speaking, in an attempt to look "larger" and important, he does this all of the time.
Can you spell @!$%#. Sen. McCain, I think it is time to step down.
Dear Senator McCain - You have stayed too long at the fair. We appreciate your military service and your sacrifice. You have also served for many years with honor and distinction as a Senator. But, the time has come for you to say good by.
You are no longer in touch with the factual world. I had thought that after your complete failure with the Palin selection that you would take the opportunity to fade away and come back later as a pundit. You chose instead to stay and since then you have behaved at times like a spoiled child; at other times like a bully; rarely like a Senator.
This latest behavior is completely and totally unacceptable. And may I include your partner in lies, Senator Graham.
With any luck, you will be censored by your colleagues. With any luck you will go home and fade away.
Please, term limits, mandatory retirement, anything, HELP!
Why are not
interested in what this man has to say, the American people rejected him 4yrs ago, if he was relevant he would have been at the meeting he so blatantly ignored I'm tired of the media dragging up John McCain and newt Gingrich to ask relevant questions of irrelevant and obsolete has beens. Get some new blood into the conversation. If you have to have teapublicans input go to Jindal, Rubio,or even Jeb Bush but get someone with some relevance who can give an intelligent answer to a question, and maybe just maybe we can have a dissent give and take conversation.
I think Shakespeare said it best: "...a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."
I hope the "heard no more" part comes to pass.
...And what did McCain and Graham have to say when 11 embassy attacks, resulting in 54 deaths, 90 injuries occurred under Bush, the most in history ? Selective outrage, a partisan witch hunt, nothing more.
I'm a constituent of his - and what an embarrassment! So anxious to attack the man who beat him that he'd stoop to this nonsense. Hardly the man he was...it's sad to see his decline.
Simple conclusion to McCain not attending any briefings. There was no cameras at the briefing.
Used to have a lot of respect for the Senator, thought he had some Brass, but its to bad his stones have turned to pebbles and his brain has turned to mush
This is Crazy calling the pot incompetent. McCain has just lost much of our respect for him.
He is following in the mad republicans stupidity.
McCain better start reading the wall full of hand printing....that was no mistake, the Republican office did it on purpose to make an even bigger joke out of him than he already is....they want him OUT because he is an embarrassment and it's pathetic old white men like him who lost them the election!
As for me, I'd like to see a more staunch push back to each of the Republican lies. Geez, there have been so many, I can't keep up. They should have to record their complaints and submit them through Daryl Issa and rebuttal time given. But not on our time when they are supposed to be doing our business. (SIGH) but all they are interested in is MONKEY BUSINESS. Federal lies should have the light shine on them for the good of America. Nobody Exempt.
Stalling our recovery from George W's depression 'till the next Republican is elected won't work, and you can't hold us back. The entire nation is getting wise to The Grand Republican Stall.
This is another prime example of GOP cognitive dissonance. The rhetoric is unceasing about how the Dems are incompetent, stupid, evil sodomites. Never mind that Ambassador Rice took the information that was provided by the CIA (which reflected the best understanding of the evolving situation at that time) and reported it in good faith. Because some aspects of the story turned out to be not wholly accurate - as often happens when reporting on evolving stories where information is still coming in from various sources - she's now branded a liar by the screaming wing of the Republican party.
Any tiny detail that was misunderstood at the time is now magnified into a VAST LIBERAL CONSPIRACY, and she's a lying liar pants on fire. But OK, let's say for argument's sake that as a person in a position in authority she's responsible for the accuracy of whatever comes out of her mouth. Personal responsibility is, after all, a favorite Republican meme.
Where's the personal responsibility from McCain? Let's take it at face value that this was a scheduling mix-up by one of his assistants. As far as I can tell this is exactly analogous to the Susan Rice situation: McCain isn't directly in control of his schedule any more than Susan Rice is personally responsible for gathering primary intelligence. In both cases they have people for that.
If Rice is a liar for reporting the info passed to her by subordinates/other agencies, then McCain is incompetent for mixing up his press conference with the briefing.
I'll believe that McCain is competent as soon as he admits that his attacks on Ms. Rice are totally unfounded.
Wow what a dumb ass, and he talks about others that way, he must have forgot his memory pill.
Yes, missing a meeting is MUCH worse than failing to protect one's ambassador. We should definitely focus on this instead of Bengazi.
Interesting how the Republicans are wanting to get into everything except the economy and start all kinds of investigations rather than deal with this nations problems. We have one who wants to cut the income to Vets and Seniors to pay off the deficit (seniors don't pay taxes as SSI is paid for when you earn it not when you get it) guess he figures they will raid SSI's 10 Billion Surplus to pay for the deficit..says seniors and vets don't need the whole cost of living added to their checks as they are used to getting along with so little they don't add to the cost of living at all...lol.....they most certainly buy food, use gas, electricity, and wear clothes but he wants a special cost of living for us by 1/3. *yawn* they are so showing how stupid they are and their math skill suck. Republicans can not do MATH !!!
