Tonight's guests include:
Frank Rich, writer-at-large for New York Magazine
Ezra Klein, columnist for the Washington Post and Bloomberg View, and MSNBC policy analyst
Here's a song for anyone with a case of the Mondays!
And here's executive producer Bill Wolff, with a look at tonight's show:

Could you please tell the people of America that the reason Obama won the election was because Romney showed everybody who would listen that he was a liar. He made a statement when asked why he sent a letter to some Gay folks that he agreed with them..he told his campaign when they questioned the letter that, "you have to realize who I was sending the letter to". Also, he kept advertising about the car company going to China & when he was called out on it by the CEO, the Unions, he kept advertising the same lie PLUS put an ad on the radio telling the same lie. He talked about the 47%, the foodstamps President, the GOP tried like hell to suppress the vote all over the U.S., they talked about President Obama like he wasn't a human being, hung chairs from trees, put billboards up of him in Kenyian garments, etc. then wonder WHY they lost!! They say Obama just got 39% of the white vote, well, guess what...the WHITE folks are not the majority anymore..so whoever is elected in 2016 probably won't get as many of the white vote as Obama did. Pretty soon, the white vote won't even be counted as far as percentages anymore, it will soon look like the black vote did back in the late '50's when they couldn't vote. So, now the country is turning brown, whether it's mixed black/white, latino, asian, oriental, etc. but white? Ha, the GOP has a rude awakening in the future. They might as well give it up now, stop trying to figure where they went wrong, and take a good look at themselves and remember the good ole days while they're sitting in front of their fireplaces with a box of kleenex and a glass of bourbon.
Regarding tonight's show: Frank Rich, again?! Who else, E.J. Dionne and Dan Rather? I love your show, but your pool of guests seems to be getting smaller (not to mention increasingly male, white, and wealthy).

"Goldman Sachs CEO, on avoiding the fiscal cliff". Fairly reasonable. (Forthrightly put.)
I've been watching MS and Current all day, and kid, you are the best. You are so far the best, it's like a college textbook vs. a comic book. Your dismantling of McCain was like Gray's Anatomy, with every tendon layed out and labeled. Stunning.
Eliot Spitzer is next in line, BTW. Good stuff there tonight, Jeffrey Toobin, Joe Cirincione, James Traub.
I apologize to those on this blog but Ed's is so dysfunctional I just moved here. Hoping to carry on the conversation that was the poll question. Its becoming clear that as more people drop their DSL cable services and get on a minutes for internet time its more money spent on the ED BLOG he's been pushing Facebook and Twitter ect. and thats how more people are connecting now. I fear it may not be long here either. Stand tough Rachel! Your the last one standing. Seems it won't be long before we will have to pay extra for AD free web time.
On McCain, he must love the reruns of Bruce Wilis in his Die Hard Series. He seems to want heavier boots on the ground akin to Die Harder! All that collateral damage gets great movie ratings but in real life, it means something to people with a heart and soul, not an agenda or a party line.
McCain still needs to prove he's rough and tough he picks his nose and eats the stuff!
Yoe xo , Howzit ? And - Awww , Who Really Gives a Ratts A$$ Anyway !
INDEED! MDSLIDE...
DId they...Just let you out?
Nope , I just hacked into the PD's main frame --- Shhhhhh !

I think I'm getting a buzz! Its about time! I drank enough! Dam its tough when your a pro!
I Know what you mean ! I think that the ceo's of the beer and liquor companies should be Paying Us as taste testers and product analyzers , hell , we are doing them a favor , and after all , being a pro in any other field , don't they get paid the big bucks for job performance and being specialists ?
Hey MS I should get a break on my insurance because I'm too drunk to drive!
There ya have it , I think that our cities should be paying for our auto insurance , because we are doing a good service for our cities by Not driving while drinking ! Hey , ceo's get to write off auto insurances for the company cars that they drive , in fact the cars are written off also , not to mention the gas and mileage , why can't we get those perks/loopholes ?
Excellent point! Hell Boehner could be the poster drunk! I think I will write this to him! Yet there has been rules on blogging if your impaired! WOW!
And this is the House Leader!!!!
Maybe I should have said 1.75 liter!
There is another point , companies can send the employees to the clinic for drug and alcohol testing anytime they want , Why doesn't the president send yogi-boner and pals to be tested on a weekly basis , Why don't they have to follow the same rules that the American workers have to abide by ? I mean , Who are they Not to have to follow the very laws and regulations that they make into Laws ?
Wow another good point! It seems we are the ones always holding the bag..better be empty! Kochsuckers! I'll be dammed if I will let some bastards fnck me in the ass! LOCK & LOAD! Hunting for TOAD!
Good thing for the states of Washington & Oregon! Free that WEED!

Hey thanks for your support of Hi DEE even though she supports the KeySTONE!
I doing Great Mud!
You're welcome -X- It got kinda close up there in the Bright Red State of N.D., but we did it. I would rather have a candidate that supported the keystone, than one who latched on to the Romney/Ryan plan any day of the week. I think that she will do a great job once she get's her feet wet. Now we just have to work on cleaning out the House!
G'Night All --- zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ............

Is this how you guys from the ED show show your respect for Rachel's blogs? By turning them into private chat rooms?
COME ON - at least stay on topic!!
There are places for private conversations - they are called chat rooms! When I see you guys doing this, it just turns me OFF and I go lookiing for other blogs to post on!
Rince Prebus (*)more focus on winning! Charlie Sheen said the same thing...LOSER!
Hey I like Charlie! Screw the Prevert!
I like Rachel, and agree with her mostly on domestic policies, but I did not agree with her opener tonight, Monday, 11/19.
There is way more democracy in the middle east because of the courage and perseverance of George W. Bush. The Arab Spring is a direct result of his policies, most significantly, the war in Iraq.
Here's why. Forget the argument about weapons of mass destruction, that was one reason among others, and by the way, there's been some indications of remnants of chemical/biological weapons found in Iraq.
After 9/11, and all the terrorist attacks of the 1990s (don't forget about these), there was a clear indication that there was a profound sickness in the middle east, in Islamicism, in Arabs, whatever. They were having less and less issues about committing mass murder for political reasons.
Why did this exist, for what reasons? We do not know, but living under dictatorial governments in poverty was a likely culprit among the reasons.
Sure, Al Qaeda attacked us from Afghanistan, but it is a wider problem than that. So we went after Al Qaeda, changed the government of Afghanistan, and to attack this larger problem, installed a democratic, capitalist government in the heart of the middle east in Iraq.
Iraq was never in compliance with international rulings after the Persian Gulf War, we could not relax the sanctions, the people were suffering, there were very well could have been collaboration with terrorist organizations and production of weapons of mass destruction, and we had a long history of antagonism with this nation.
Now, Iraq is beginning to prosper, oil production is above pre-war levels, the Shiites and Kurds have more independence and freedom, the government is democratic, and we did a blessed thing!!
Did thousands of people die and suffer as a result of this war? Yes, but sometimes progress requires blood. Is America going to sit back, as the heart of democracy, and be indifferent to the dictators around the war, and doing nothing for the people suffering under them? Are we going to be so selfish and call it good?
If there was an error with Iraq, it was that it cost America too much, in blood and treasure. We can't expend our resources on nations like that.
But the fact that were was a democracy in Iraq helped spread democracy and womens' rights throughout the middle east during President Bush's term and during the Obama term. We made a profound change in the world. I feel, as an a American, that we were agents of God, healing the world.
I went to a Festival of Ideas last night and had the honor of listening to 2 Nobel Peace Prize Laureates , both woman , one from Yemen and one from Liberia. Both have made incredible gains in the area of human rights, in particular women's rights, but also the rights of youths, child soldiers in particular. Although they have come a long way, they are still only a voice and have a long way to go to affect change in policy in the upper levels of government. Democracy is a goal, but is not yet formally established in Egypt. Democracy is a hope in many nations, but has a long way to go to be implemented in its true form. We cannot forget that many human rights are still being trampled upon and must not trumpet success, giving the false impression that people are now free, safe and out of the woods. It's premature to do so. I don't mean to imply that you think everything is perfect, I just want to reiterate that all is not as it appears in the conflict areas where change appears to be leaning towards democracy. This process of change could take many years and there are as many forces, if not more, fighting against it, as there are for it.
I don't think its a good idea to pick a scab. Gotta let it heal first. before you stick another knife in. Iraq coud very well be a sanctuary for those in the Middle East as those who will run from Iran before we attack. In the long run it might work out for the best but the leaders of Iran will cut them down if the run. And with that it may be their own soldiers that turn against their leaders. And a empty country with only talking heads might listen to reason. But we best be ready to shoot down any rockets with nukes from them before the can reach their targets.
Gotta think about this Saddam was hated by his people and may very well have revolted in a "Arab Spring" themselves. and WE the U.S. had never had to invade in the first place. BTY we were lied to NO Osama contacts or WMDs. we may have been much better off. And no doubt we would have been better off financially.
The Teapublicans want to do it all over again...and again...
Oh yeah, the next in the series, Die Hard 5, is set in Russia! What a coincidence for Romney. Perhaps he and McCain can watch this together and establish some semblance of a foreign policy since they don't really have one of their own.
Newt's hoping it's on the Moon!
I will now try to defend Israeli-Meanness.
There are still many people on this planet that believe war is sensible. Some even imagine a winner can exist. In the old days of slavery, war could gain you free-slaves. That has got to be a contradiction. This conduct, while being bad for your morality, is good for the economy, I guess? What if your country and government secretly thinks it can not survive without wars? What if wars have more to do with money than common-sense? In high school I was taught that WWII fixed Americas depressed economy. My mother, whom lived through it said, “ We just stopped talking about the national debt. “ What if the 1929 crash was partly an after-effect of WWI ? Or the 1970s Carter economy was the after-glow of Viet Nam ? What if we had not started the national highways project? You would need to have another war about every four years to avoid the truth , ( squirrel ! ). Why cant Israel make money off the Palestinians by selling them stuff ? Oh that’s right, the land is not ours, God owns that. So that means the Palestinians don’t have personal real-estate property rights either ? So you are just doing Gods work by stealing their land ? Is God telling you to kill these people as well? . . .wow. . . how do you bear with such contradictions ? Squirrel ! Now, if some one just started parking in Your driveway and would not quit, How would you feel ? What would you do ? What if they also tryed to starve you out ?
Bundy's vs D'arcy's' blow up the driveway! How green was my apple.
Rachel and any one else--You did a" best thing in the world" piece on the H train that would serve some people on the Rockaways. My brother could loose his job if they don't expand at least buses to the Rockaway Park area. He's much closer to Breezy Point than Far Rockaway. Although power is back to his building, he can't go back unless he can get to work from there. He would have to walk 26 blocks to catch it--about 5 miles.
EVERYBODY in the Rockaways needs help.
Would love to see someone with clout address this problem--it's not just a few people who won't be helped by the H train.
Great Show Rachel---I loved the segment that you did on John McCain. I really think that it's time for the Maverick to retire, he's showing some serious signs of Dementia.
Dear Producer Wolff, I know you are trying to be serious. But you are just to darn up-beat for me to keep a permanent-frown. I love my frown. Bad puppies.
Click. off
Holy Crap !! Rachel is pissed !! Warning ! Do not bring up War with her, unless you come prepared with pen and paper. Man am I glad she is on my debate team.
Specifically as a Pacific power, specifically as a Pacific power, specifically as a Pacific power
How much time do you think Rachel devoted to trying to say that tongue twister correctly (referring to her first segment). She got the wording correct- in case anyone didn't catch- am just curious if she did that without practice or with lots.
my brain gets twisted just reading it lol
So, where in the world is Reince Preibus anyway? I think his "ground campaign" was more in-line with a dirt campaign.
Dynamic underground?
A tune for him....
