Since Cherokee Princess Warren is so intense about being Native
American (and it played a big part in her victory), then logically her primary appointment should be to the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs.
Take a look--the East Coast is sorely underrepresented on that committee. The Senate needs her on Indian Affairs!
Ha,ha,ha . We the people need her on the banking committee. You know she is your friend when your enemies attack her with all they have!
angeleno,
WHAT is your problem with Warren being part Native American? Is that ALL you can find to dislike her? To attack her on her nationality? It makes you sound so .......small!
Elizabeth Warren has lived an amazing life - how many of us can claim to have done as much as she has? We almost had the good fortune of having her regulate the credit industry - which for one, would have stopped credit card companies from peddling their wares to the uneducated and then charging usury. Is that bad?
She needs to go where her skills are needed - and that is on the banking committees!
The struggle against RACISM is a long and difficult one.
How long did it take African Americans to gain their civil rights in this country? Answer: we don't know, because they don't have them yet: The struggle still goes on.
When will Native Americans gain their tribal treaty rights, and be free of white plastic wannabe Indians stealing their identity, culture, and rights for personal, social, and political gain, while giving nothing back to Native people in exchange for their lies, fraud, theft, and RACISM? The struggle goes on after 500 years, with people like you, who are obviously totally clueless about Native America, aiding and abetting the RACISTS like Princess Warren.
There is no solid, objective evidence to support the contention that Princess Warren is Native. The law requires evidence, documentation, and she has none. Even her "family stories" (In Indian Country that's the first sign that we're dealing with a clueless, probably lying, white person) are disputed by other members of her family.
But if you buy the lie, fraud, racist insult that she's Native, then it should be obvious she belongs on the Senate Indian Affairs Committee. Look at the committee roster. How many Senators from the Northeast are there? If you accept that she's Native, it's obvious we need her on Indian Affairs. It's part of our crusade to overcome RACISM against Native people.
How did it play a big part in her victory?
Do you seriously believe there are enough Cherokees in Massachusets to elect her?
Obviously you didn't watch the debates or see how people responded to them. Ignorance is a bad basis for an argument
In the second debate, Princess Warren proclaimed, again with no evidence, that she was, was, was Native. It wowed the crowd--not because they were Cherokee or Delaware, but because they loved the way she stood up to Scotty, held her ground, and wallowed in the lie.
So it was her chutzpah in turning her lie into a Big Lie they applauded, and that scored her major points at the debate and after. Polls showed how voters loved her performance, and it enhanced her campaign. Of course it was just a performance, not the truth. But they loved how she stood up to bad ol' Scotty, and that gave her major points.
A little demagoguery went a long way.
Unless, of course, you believe she really is Native. In which case, she belongs on the Senate Indian Affairs Committee.
Only Rachel Maddow could turn the assault on Gaza by Israel into yet one more TRMS assault on the Republican Party.
I'm tempted to try and explain why Rachel's opening monologue is so unspeakably stupid ... but to hell with it. It's not worth it.
I give up, TRMS. You've finally lost me. This time for good.
Wow, go ahead explain it to us. Unless you are afraid to look even dumber than you do by saying "I'm tempted to try and explain why Rachel's opening monologue is so unspeakably stupid ... but to hell with it. It's not worth it."
I would really love to hear your assessment of the Gaza situation. My opinion is that the majority of my life I have had the after effects of the UN's worse decision as background news. Six days in 1967 solved this mess. Now we have to keep the situation from becoming another all out war. 35 years of advancement in weapons coupled with a much higher population density, not to mention Arab nations in social stress as their youth seek democracy, and you have the starter kit for WWIII.
I'm related some fundamentalist (major emphasis on mental) Christians who can't wait for the war to signal the rapture. As far as I can tell that seems to be the only argument for pursing expanding the theater of war in the Middle East. And some interpretations could allow for Russia in a pinch. This seems to be the core of the rationale for the Right wing whack jobs engaging in aggressive rhetoric.
So Frank, enlighten us. Why should we pursue a course of war in Gaza, Syria, Iran, or Russia? Iran is a given. The POTUS has already stated they're in Damocles mode where the whole nuke missile thing is concerned. So who do we arm? Some militant group selected by the CIA in the fine tradition of G H W Bush in the 80's? Because that worked out so well for the US. Stun us with your wisdom. Or are you just another undereducated Hannity and Limbaugh groupie?
Sometimes when the "enemy" begins to gain parity, the "defender" begins to sit up and take notice. Since 1967, Israel has been able to occupy or enter the Palestinian Territories almost at will. Now that the Palestinians have weapons that can reach further into Israel, the chances for genuine peace between the two increases. Netanyahu has been able to avoid meaningful peace talks on some not very convincing grounds and at the same time expand into East Jerusalem and expand the settlements in Palestinian territory. He rejected beginning peace negotiations with the 1967 borders as a starting point. Israel would not be where it is today had Netanyahu started there and negotiated in good faith. Now, the negotiations that will ensue will be more on an equal footing. No more than Mubarak could, Netanyahu cannot risk the exercise of military ground forces and face the backlash similar to what Mubarak faced.
Here's hoping that genuine peace talks will start soon and produce two viable, vibrant states: Israel and the Palestinians.
Reince Priebus will be RNC chair as long as there is no clear boss in the GOP. His longevity is a symptom of the GOP being adrift.
Danged liberals trying to get in the way of war profiteers! We need a good war to boost the economy! Just look at how Bush's wars jump-started our ..uh,never mind.
It's just amazing to me how well the MSM does as the left's PR machine.
I understand that's the way it is, and railing against it is like Xerxes and the tide. The only way to affect events will be to let you do what you want. For example, no more war. Bring everyone home, and close our overseas bases. Sounds good, yes?
To me too. We can let the rest of the world fight it out amongst themselves. Israel can nuke the Middle East into submission, India can nuke the Pakistanis, China can invade Japan again, and Putin can bring back the USSR. What do you think?
We can print money all day every day and give everyone $100,000 for free! Sound good? To me too. I'm buying gold coins. Yessiree Bob. Just keep doing what you're doing. I'm now on board. I'm ready for some free stuff, and I'm looking forward to you people providing it.
OK. You really want to score Bush versus Obama on Hurricane response? Really?
Rice and Warren. Dude. Stop watching exclusively Hannity. I watch all 4 major news networks. It is amazing how often 3 agree on the news and one stands alone with misinformation. Fox is not news. It's something, just not news. Do you still believe that Jeep is shipping American jobs to China? How often does the crap that passes for news on Fox need to be proven wrong for people to stop watching it? Seriously.
As for the rest. Wow! Just Wow! WTF?
Poland proved that Russia never should have placed nuclear power plants in all of it's satellites. Five dedicated patriots per reactor can engage in scorched earth tactics to force Russia out. There will never again be a USSR. Join us in the 21st century.
In what world does China invade Japan in the modern era? Why would they? The huge tracks of arable land? The vast mineral mines? The toxic East coast that will be a radioactive hot spot for decades if not centuries?
If you truly believe that the rest of the world would be at each others throats if we there to stand between them you really need to learn about the world.
Look we know shooters world is crashing down on him so be kind. After all his affirmations of how right we are do encourage us to continue to vote against such views every chance we get.
McCain is making the vets from his war, more ashamed of him then ever! Why dosn't he just shut his pie hole and become more interested in fixing the problems he and the other repos put on all America???????????????
When all you've got is a McCain, every answer looks like military intervention.
With all respect, Rachel gets one thing wrong when she speaks of President Obama's historic visit to Burma and Cambodia. At 00:35, she speaks of Thailand as America's "most longstanding ally in the region".
To borrow her own favourite phrase - Bullpuckey! What are we here in Australia, chopped liver? We're in the same region (Southeast Asia), we've been at America's side in every conflict since (and including) World War II.....and yet apparently we get overlooked in favour of titchy little Thailand.
I know it's a minor point, but it's really annoying to get overlooked by America at every turn, except for America wants more troops to be sent to help fight its wars.
