This is such a sad story of a real life tragedy that occurred in the middle of Saturday night. A local newspaper man, father of triplet boys, and a nice guy, died in a house fire. One of his sons lost his life trying to save his dad.

This is so graphic it makes me sick.

Sad that the struggle to remain relevant by McCain/Cornyn/Coburn et. al. employs the same obstructionist tactics that are leading to their irrelevance. Whatever ideas they may have (ideas that are desperately needed) are getting lost in the voices of the bitter, grumpy old men promising more Senatorial war and unreasonable conflict. The only alternative left is to vote them out of office and replace them with representation that is interested in governing. Those replacements by default have a (D) or (I) after their name. For anyone interested in actual Policy, it's kind of depressing.
Glad to see Mr Norquist is losing his grip on the GOP. Mr McCain seems to be losing his grip too, just wonder if he realizes his loss.
My wife and I also went to our annual 'see a movie at the theater' day, and really enjoyed Lincoln yesterday; powerful, interesting, excellent acting, and finally a movie that does not gloryify violence.
I've already written the WH asking for holding my hand and jumping off the cliff... like Acapulco... I hope! And the filibuster has to change to STAND til ya DROP mode!

Grover Norquist is anti-American and a traitor. He should be in jail.
My first communication with U.S. Secretary of State Susan Rice might be to ask why Israel targeted a Hamas leader’s family at his home instead of at a place where Israel has inferred that he met with, or encourages, militants. Why could not Israel, at least, wait until the family members were out of the home, and the leader was their alone to strike his house? (I do not call a country having to defend itself by, unnecessarily, killing enemy’s family’s members as acceptable and liken it to the Old Roman’s crucifying people to give other citizens a message. I expect more out of Israel than treating some people like bugs expendable in a bombing.)
The United States needs to make a stand that we do not, and will not, accept Israel as a State inside Gaza and the West Bank and put Israel‘s stolen settlements to rest. As far as I am concerned, we could consider making a further stand for the Palestinians crammed into these places like sardines that we will no longer accept Israel as State within the total miles counted of their invasive settlements surrounding the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Let us get some justice for the Palestinians.
No more military aid to Israel, because we do not need a farce Democracy over there anymore than Israel needs our tax money or our weapons manufacturers need more tax breaks.
Obama/Biden needs to point out how Republicans kept their pledge to Grover Norquist but failed in their sworn oaths to the AMERICAN PEOPLE…
Frank from ABQ says:
Hey Morning Joe,
Why don't you and your sidekick Robin Geist yank Rep. Eric Cantor's pants down so you can just stick you noses up his butt and quit wasting the viewers time with the Republican propaganda. THOSE DAYS ARE GONE LOSERS, let it go because if you continue some very angry cutting-edge radical political activists are going to take you down...
Here's the thing, a Black Guy in a White House gave all you Republican Conservative wackos enough rope to hang yourselves with. Republicans doubled down on crazy and the American PEOPLE rose up, spanked your @$$es and sent you to the dunce corner to think about all the bad you've done.
As far as I'm concerned, after the Bush/Cheney disaster and disastrous results of trickle down Reaganomics… the Republican Party is dead to me. The results of Bush/Cheney and the Republican controlled Congress (1994-2006) speak for themselves. Waste, fraud, abuse of power, scandal, corruption, off-shoring, media consolidation, sexual deviancy, job outsourcing, welfare for the rich, soldiers getting electrocuted in showers, arms dealing, environmental deregulation, war profiteering, Constitutional violations and a corporate crime wave of epic proportions. The greatest looting of a nation's wealth & resources in the history of mankind… Yet these shameless hypocrites have the audacity to act they're the responsible adults at the table, BULLS***!
In the private sector the Republicans in Congress would have been fired and prosecuted but they have the so-called NEWS shows to keep them propped up with more BS. That's WHY the LEFT is SO ANGRY, you moron. QUIT WASTING THE PRECIOUS NATIONAL AIRTIME! There's reasonable, intelligent, rational people on the American scene that could use that PUBLIC broadcast time to educate or problem solve. I despise everything about you and your WASP kind cyberbitchslap2.blogspot.com
Regarding the Wisconsin Solidarity Singers and the "protest permits," the situation is not as simple as the article presents it. The singing is not just about collective bargaining and the "permits" are not business-as-usual. They are new "permit" procedure initiated by Walker's Department of Administration is a response to, and suppression of, dissent and freedom of speech. Please see below:
August 31, 2012: "Do four People Make a Rally" http://forwardforliberty.org/2012/08/31/ralliesoffour/
September 5, 2012: "Right to Dissent at [WI] state Capitol must not be abridged" http://host.madison.com/news/opinion/editorial/right-to-dissent-at-state-capitol-must-not-be-abridged/article_04dfcee4-f69d-11e1-9ef5-001a4bcf887a.html
"The new Capitol chief is a veteran officer, Dave Erwin, who has announced plans to alter many practices and procedures at the Capitol. It has been suggested — mainly by Walker's right-wing amen corner — that Erwin will adopt a "get-tough" approach to dissent. This would seem to be the case, as Erwin has moved to establish a much stricter permitting process for protests, along with a much more aggressive approach to dissent."
The filibuster is being used to shut down government function, so of course the more Anarchistically inclined are all for using the filibuster to take away voters rights, as well as for giving up more power to the Corporate State !
They better stay away from my medicare and thank you Mr. Obama.
Quote from the article on WI and anti-abortion legislation:"I support all those measures and would gladly be a lead or co-sponsor on any of them," said Rep. Joel Kleefisch, R-Oconomowoc. "Any measure to protect life is of the utmost highest priority."
Joel Kleefisch is the husband of WI Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch.
She's in this video which was in a TRMS segment:

Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), the conservative firebrand, said sternly. “If you take away minority rights, which is what you’re doing ....
Taking away minority rights? What about the rights of the majority that have been impeded by an outrageous use of the filibuster!!
my thoughts exactly.
The question I have regarding Morsi is if there is any indication that the Egyptian military is warming to the idea of Morsi as Mubarak 2.0 who was Sadat 2.0 who was Nasser 2.0?
Is there any credence to the hypothesis that the reason for the timing of this seizure is that it is the standard play of strongmen in the middle east? That is, by refocusing popular dissatisfaction towards outrage against the Israelis, any real reforms are short circuited. (Kind of like refocusing calls for financial reform away from Wall Street and towards some media spectacle like the fiscal cliff?)
How far will Morsi allow the Israelis make Gaza his problem? Surely he is not going to annex the Gaza strip, or do the equivalent by stationing permanent peacekeepers with the overt purpose of repressing Hamas military activity, but with the actual intent of providing a human shield for Hamas? Would that sort of muscular response to the Israelis tend to weld support in the military ranks, or be a cause for great alarm among the more pragmatic military leaders?
I'd like to hear some perspectives on this that Engels digs up. Egypt just veered radically away from the Arab Spring reform movement. This is an important event that deserves close attention of US citizens.

If Reid caves, again, he'll be hearing this for the next few years: "You had a chance to change the rules and you failed," every time the GOP stalls another bill.
