My fantasy elevator pitch to David Simon is that he should do an HBO series, "The Making of 'CSI: Baltimore'." It'd be a comedy about crime shows, their traditions and their making. (I figure he must have a zillion stories.)
For the joke to work, of course, he'd have to actually license the "CSI" name, plus the entire catalog of Who songs (including the non-Townshend ones.) And a running gag would be which Who song to use as the theme.
Obviously, "I Can see for Miles" could be a leading contender, while he people who pull for the proper sense of Baltimore fatalism would want "I Can't Reach You" and a lone nut in the second camera unit would hold out for "Happy Jack."
Anyone catch this recent entry at Derf Magazine (note: SATIRE)? Rachel Maddow Mad Man.
Also, this may be the funniest explanation yet of the "fiscal Cliff Clavin"
(h/t for that brilliant metaphor to Jim Ward of the Stephanie Miller Show):
Montgomery Burns Explains the Fiscal Cliff
Hilarious!
Certainly not as funny, but definitely a message we need to consider:
This recent brief (1:17) animation by Mark Fiore. Sometimes, attention must be paid!

Probably not the right place to post this:
It's going to get harder to get homeowners insurance that covers catastrophic weather damage.
Since the insurance companies believe in climate change, I wonder how long it will take for them to convince the Republicans that it is real.
Ain't it encouraging to see the Stones perform without walkers or wheelchairs?
I saw a Grace Slick interview on ETV a while back. They asked her if she ever thought of a come back. She replied that she doubted anybody wanted to see a sixty year old woman rock out. Grace, I went to see Joan Baez and she apologized for her voice cracking due to a cold. All I could think of was how I would have been thrilled to simply listen to her talk of her past and the marches with civil rights heroes.Sometimes it ain't just about the music!
As Helen Reddy once said in song...
You live your life in the songs you hear
On the rock and roll radio
And when a young girl doesn't have any friends
That's a really nice place to go
Folks hoping you'd turn out cool
But they had to take you out of school.
You're a little touched you know, Angie baby
(I ain't Angie but there seems to be a little Angie in all of us and I am a little touched in the head)
How about "We are Women, hear us roar." I know we sometimes growl a lot, but we also purr!
Boehner, Cantor, and McConnell must stop their obstruction game! These three do nothing but they are holding the American People hostage! -
- These three continue lying to us! They are insulting our intelligent! We all know what Ryan's budget will do to us and these men keep placing the same gabage under different bags!
They go on tv repeatedly and claim obama is obsessed with raising taxes , as if it is all obamas fault we have to pay off the debt these 3 clowns helped to create? It is insulting to listen too , agreed Senior Citizen-3119633
They are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Look, there's chicken! Who do they think they are, they lost so now our brave President needs to sit these young men down and lay down the law. They're lucky they won't have to wear the dunce's cap. We are manufacturing those as we speak, 1 for each Republican, Tea Party or No Tea Party, they lost. All their demands are mute and are falling on deaf ears. They have no backers, all the money has been spent on their buddy, Romney. Time to pay the Piper. How does it feel to be on your own with no direction home, how does it feel when you have betrayed all your constituents. We needed their help and they answered by making more money for themselves. They still have their acting careers to fall back on. Noone is interested in The Whitehouse soap opera, it received very bad ratings.

I have read some things about this , it would seem we might need to also reform home ownership/ insurance industry ... after katrina , many of the people who lived there could not rebuild because the costs of insurance tripled , the one guy said his insurance payment was bigger than his house payment ....It also happened to people after the east coast floods last year
Rep. Jan Schakowsky, (D-IL) is one of the coolest people in congress , she is a cut to the chase no nonsense talker , america would do well to find some more dems like her for DC
Voters must keep pressuring your Reps in Washington and asking them "WHY" Republicans are holding back our tax cut?
-Let us find out how many of these Republicans who objected the "middle class tax cut proposal" earn more than $250k/year?
- Republicans are responsible for any down grade of US credit rating!
- There are enough Patriotic Republicans in the Congress to pass the tax and job bills!
- Republicans party is no longer the GOP, they dropped the letter G. Now they are the OP (Obstruction Party)! It is up to the DEM and the Independent to rebuild our country economy!
I am a bit surprised there hasn't been more backlash to Speaker Boehner's proposal to gain revenue by closing loopholes, eliminating deductions and the like. No matter who it impacts it is a clear violation to the Norquist pledge with part B vowing not to eliminate a deduction, credit, etc. without an reduction to the tax rate for a net zero change. No wonder he is having difficulty selling this to the true believers let alone the already skeptical.
Norquist is sailing on a small boat to China with all of his friends. Maybe they can live there, they've caused enough chaos in our Country. China probably doesn't want them either.
What are the rules for impeachment of congressional members? It sure seems to me that there has been more than abundant evidence that these people do not have the American people's interest in mind, in fact, present a clear and present danger to our General Welfare.
