Can Anyone else figure this senario out ? Let's SEE , "gun-free zones" , hmmmmm , Perhaps this is Precisely Why these Goofs are Targeting these areas ! Yes , it Is Sick and Demented , But , It Is Also an Open-Door for these Nuts to take FULL Advantage of !
Spam much? This is the third time you posted the same thing word for word.
And here , I Thought that U were my pal - D ? Do U find something Wrong with My Statement ?
Oh happy day. I just got my notice from the government that I get a 1.7% COA on January 1 for my Social Security. I'm so happy I'm dancing. It should take care of co-payments for the next two months for my prescriptions. So I am to assume that Congress gets their automatic 3% COA this coming year, too?
What is the difference here? Let's see, we pay into Social Security all our lives and the teapubs in Congress want to chip away at it until we have nothing, but you can bet they will still collect that money. Congress get theirs from the taxpayers and we can't vote for them to get a raise or to stop giving themselves one. Especially since they put in less than two days a week in Congress for their pay, perks, benefits and pensions. What is wrong with this picture?
Phenner, "What is wrong with this picture?"
Congress.
Congress by inaction harbors pedophile priests, accepts 25% childhood poverty and lets be the continuous mass murder of children and tells me America does not care for it's children.
The Second Ammendment says "well regulated militia" ... "right of the people to keep and bear arms". And we all agree we love the Bill of Right.
So, if we are accepting that we are a well regulated militia ... in order to have the right to keep and bear arms ... then we MUST accept the well regulated part of the Ammendment. Not just the right to keep and bear arms part.
Evidence in Connecticut shows that we are not currently well regulated. Looking for positive, pragmatic solutions from an open discourse.
What happened in Connecticut was done with stolen guns.
Hey, I got it ! Lets give everyone guns and shot it out !!
Ma !! Quit whacking me with your broom, I am typing here!
The guns weren't stolen. Where did you even get that information? He took them from his mother. He lived with her at their house and she apparently didn't lock the weapons up.
Again it's OK to say that you don't think gun regulations will work, but let's be factual in our approach and not hyperbolic or outright lying. K?
His mother had told people not to turn their backs to him. Instead of trying to boost his sense of self-worth with guns, she should have gave him a pet and pointed over that this is a living creature with feeling just as you. Just like me. Just like all people. You are not alone.
sorry ... posted twice.
Ms. Maddow, I'm watching your show right now, and please. Stop embarrassing yourself with the "plastic guns" nonsense. The reason that plastic guns don't exist has nothing to do with any law, it has to do with the physical impossibility of such a thing. No plastic exists that's strong enough to use in parts like the barrel of a gun.
And yes, Congress really did pass a law to ban something that doesn't exist. "Plastic guns" that are "undetectable" to scanners? They've never existed anywhere other than in the movies.
This is the silliest comment I've heard all day long and shows you know absolutely nothing about guns.
A plastic gun refers to any gun not made strictly out of metals. The Glock is the most famous plastic gun that comes to mind, but almost all modern day weapons used by military and police personnel are considered "plastic guns." The problem here is you're engaging in what I like to call strawman literalism which is where you attempt to debunk the argument at hand by taking the title literally. The term plastic can refer to anything from ceramics to polymers (both of which can handle the force of a gun without melting). You are, instead of addressing the issue at hand, inserting a definition that no one else besides you was operating under and assuming she's talking about Super Soakers when she never was.
Now if you want to debunk the old 1980's myth that these kind of guns can get through metal detectors then OK. But let's try to be logical in our approach instead of making flat out false claims.
Er that should read can handle the explosive force of firing a bullet
The auto industry had developed an internal combustion engine made nearly completely of plastics. It was real expensive to build. The connecting rod of many normal engines is made of 4140 steel. 4140 also makes an excellent gun bar. I will bet you also believe there is no such thing as transparent aluminum. Did you know that if you heat nearly any substance to the correct temperature and then cooling it very-very quickly and thus freezing the molecules in that state, it will be transparent? Transparent aluminum is being used by the military already.
Gun control is needed, but these shootings are multi-faceted. Mental health issues also need to be addressed. I have yet to hear of anyone commenting on the effects of drugs that are given to people with mental health issues. Some drugs can cause halucinations. Just another aspect to the problem.
What if all schools had to include anger-management courses. And make them equally as important as math ? I did not get that class until I was most of thirty years old, a little late. My anger-management instructor gave a story that should be revealing.
* He had just graduated college and was completely broke. He had studied psychotherapy. He and his new bride are on the freeway in his old truck when it breaks down, again. He had just had it in the shop and decided he could not afford that repair. Setting on the side of the road, he became so angry with himself that he kicked a tire with all his might. It broke his big toe. As he was hopping about grasping his foot in pain, over his hollowing he hears his wife burst out in laughter, “ Now you have hurt your self twice !! “ He then simply could not stop himself from joining and laughing with her ! While admitting it was lucky he already had his papers or the school may have had him go for an extra year !
* I grew up watching Roy Rogers and Gun Smoke. My six year old friends and I had real gun battles all the time. And we always won. I use to practice dieing-real-good-like-they-did-on-TV. You know. The hands to the heart, the spin and fall. And of coarse the final leg kicks, could not forget the leg kicks. My friends would complain if I left that out. Then Ma would interrupt our war by calling us all in for lunch. Growing up on a big farm, I and all my brothers were to be marksmen, like our dad. He once shot a deer at 400 yards with an open site 30-30. For dinner, we often ate wild bird or pike. When I was ten, I got the traditional bee-bee gun. I could not hit the wide side of a barn. I know this because we had a barn. I was a disgrace to the family name. But I tried, I really did. Finally after half an hour shooting at mostly the same little bird, I hit my mark. He fell like a rock from that branch. I walked over and watched the little guy draw his last breaths. Then a funny feeling came over me, and I began to wish that my aim had not improved. My wish then came true. I started spending hours and hours in dads workshop making stuff like model paddle boats that did not work as my bee-bee gun rusted in a corner. Best days of my young life.
* Killing Another Human is Murder. So how stupid is this next line? ( I just hate murder so much !! That if I ever meet a murderer, I would probably have to kill them! ) So, you condone murder, but only if it is in your interest ? Can anyone say two-faced?
* How about lets everyone just denounce all murder as unwise !! By the time any honest-life-loving human finds that the only solution to a tough situation is killing another human, we have all failed. There will be no winner.

After reading a crazy argument posted on Facebook that stated school gun violence started to escalate around the same time school gun bans were initiated, therefore, gun bans created school violence - I started to research what else may have happened in the 90's that could more realistically correlate to the escalation in school shooting. While researching I found that SSRIs were starting to be prescribed for children. I also found information that states that 1 in 7 children were at risk for severe suicidal ideation while on SSRIs and suicidal ideation also occurred among adults but to a lesser extent (i.e not 1 in 7). And as I researched further found articles that stated that many of the recent mass murderers were found to have "therapeutic" levels of SSRIs in their system at the time of their rampages. One of the Columbine shooter (Harris), the Standard Gravure shooter, the Virginia Tech Killer, and the Fort Hood Killer were all on prescribed SSRIs. There is also debate over the Aurora Killer and, the most recent mass murderer in the US, the Newtown killer both being on SSRIs. I think it is time to step back and take a long look at big pharm. and they damage they may be doing to society, our children and our culture.
I was set to watch tonight until I saw the name of CORY BOOKER on the list of guests.. You know, the Bain Capital apologist, the sellout to Wall Street interests, converting city assets into indentured servitude to the big banks to build arenas and convention centers that are to date underutilized and causing his city to slide into near bankruptcy, and the fraud whose own constituents don't trust him for all the fake publicity stunts of fake heroism and always with a convenient coterie of press in tow... WHY DO YOU PEOPLE GIVE THIS FRAUD A PLATFORM??? He's not even a good DEMOCRAT any longer -- as long as you play host to him, *I* will not watch, and I doubt I'm alone.... I realize he's Rachel's friend, but she probably should be more discerning than to include him among her intimates....
I'm starting to have doubts about him too bb. Need more facts..
