Gack. We tried this morning and later. Once more into the breach...
EE-NEW-AY NOT NOT NOT YAY
Someone help fearless leader and put the phonetic spelling in the teleprompter.
I had to dash out and didn't see the last segment which had a kind mention for Ms. Hanabusa and corrected pronunciation on Inouye.
Uh don't take this wrong- I don't mean to act like a pronunciation a-hole, but she is going to be in the news, so its not a nit. The BU in Hanabusa does not rhyme with beautiful but boot. RM is from the bay area, so just tell her that if she just goes into Spanish vowel pronunciation mode when she does Japanese words, then she will be fine.
Sharks have a week dedicated to Richard Engel.
Aloha: Puhleeeeze when referring to our recently deceased senator pronounce his name correctly: It's In owe oo yay (say it quickly) NOT Inooyee. Also, Colleen Hanabusa's name is pronounced Hanna BOO sa. Since we now have more Asians in gvmt. positions, it's time to learn how to pronounce Japanese names. It's like chalk on a blackboard hearing you mangle these 2 names in one sentence, one story, arghhhh.
But, still, with much aloha, without Senator Inouye, we would not have interstate Highways on Oahu (Honolulu) and terrible gridlock. Interstates, on an island??
In morning Maddow, I pointed them to a KITV youtube with Dan's name- at least she did a passing job in the last segment, and I think it was kind of her to mention Colleen. I hope the governor puts her in. She's great.
Sometimes I wonder how some of these governors are elected. That is what's called fooling the people. I know the governor of Texas is stupid but when I saw that Governor Snyder was considering signing a bill to have guns in one of the many areas a daycare I now know Texas is not the only state with a stupid man for a governor.
Re: #4
Governor Snyder vetoed the bill. A victory for sanity!!!
We are a nation who love our guns. We cling to the 2nd amendment as if it were one of the 10 commandments. When it was conceived over 230 years ago, we had an invading country on our soil and most of our Army were conscripts made up of everyday citizens. That time has long since passed, but we still use it in our defense to bear arms. I realize it would be impossible to ban or confiscate over 300 million weapons, but the argument that these recent tragedies could have been prevented by arming ourselves more is ridiculous. I certainly don't feel safer in Wal-Mart knowing that the redneck next to me may be a conceal and carry holder. Chances are with his little training and use , he would do more damage than a crazed shooter. I have yet to see any of these mass shootings being swarted by an average gun carrying person. The gun dealers and manufactures are laughing all the way to the bank whenever the gun control issues arises. How about locking these killing machines up at home. Get stringent background checks and a longer waiting period. Lets get the mentally disturbed the help they need instead of saying to the press, oh I knew he was strange and had many problems and it was just a matter of time before he did something crazy. This time the age of the victims may have awaken the long kept buried discussion that we so desperately need!
Thank you, Jim Boeheim, from a Syracuse alum. I don't follow sports, but am glad to hear a voice of reason and common sense. Remember, this is the school that lost so many talented young adults in the Lockerbie bombing.
