Troubled Land, indeed. No copyright infringement intended. Just sharing.
@maddow President Obama should take this gop-PORTUNITY to appoint all the people the congress has kept from being appointed. This is the time to show the GOP they are not so smart.
They didn't "recess" the conmgress. As they did all last year. It's legally still open. They do it for just that purpose.
Proposed Shooting Range Next to Loveland Ohio Primary and Elementary School
www.lovelandmagazine.com
This empty storefront is the site of a proposed shooting range near the Loveland Primary and Elementary School campus.
Loveland, Ohio - The parking lot of a proposed shooting range in Loveland is approximately 250 feet from the playground of the Loveland Primary and Elementary School. The building is next door to Angilo's Pizza, two building away from LaRosa's Pizza and across the street from McDonald's.
Public records obtained today by Loveland Magazine show the location is 807 Loveland Maderia Road in a storefront of the small strip center where Bath Inspirations, The Fence Company, and Galigher Motorsports Racing Collectibles are also located. The building has been vacant for several years after a tool rental business left. It is the site of Howard's Supply, once a Loveland institution that sold hardware and specialized in plumbing supplies.
The former Lee's Famous Recipe resturant immediately to the right of the proposed shooting range is currently being remolded by Tano Bistro & Catering. It will be used to expand their catering business.
The proposal is by Steven Ling, a Symmes Township resident who specializes according to his business Facebook page, Onling Guns, in:
"Out of State Transfers FFL and NFA, gunsmithing, manufacturing, silencers, suppressors and much more... We are trying to specialize in the manufacturing of the following items: Black Powder Cannons Silencers / Suppressors Barrel Threading Barrel fitting Gun Transfers and more... SOT License Class (III)."
In an e-mail to Assistant City Manager, Gary Vidmar on November 14, Ling said, "Hi Gary, Just waiting on the Sba loan to be finalized which is very close and also the land lord to come back with his offer." [Sic]
Ling was responding to an e-mail from Vidmar the same day that asked, "Steve, Are you making any progress on signing a lease for the space on Loveland Madeira Rd.? Is there anything more I can do to help move the project along?"
Vidmar responded on November 16, "Steve, Good luck with your pursuit of financing and your negotiations with the landlord."
On December 4, Ling said in an e-mail, "Hi Gary, Just a heads up I think if everything plays well should be in a good position by the end of the week to get this going."
Vidmar said today that he is waiting on Ling to submit paperwork that would officially begin a process to obtain City approval. He said that in the meantime he is looking through the city code to determine what local restrictions Ling would have to meet.
Vidmar commented in an e-mail to Ling on October 1, "By the way, I like the clever name you chose for your new business." Vidmar said today however, that he did not know what the name was.
Vidmar also said that people came to his office today to express "Their outrage."
An attempt to contact Ling early Monday evening by telephone was un-successful.
There is an existing gun store 200 feet to the northeast of the school campus - Shooter's Supply. Owner Dan Lovet said on Saturday that he did not know of plans for anyone to open a shooting range. In 2007, Mann gave up on plans to open his own shooting range with partner, Marvin Mann where Pet Nation is now located at 1425 Loveland Maderia Road after safety concerns were appealed to the 12 District Court of Appeals.
Correction: In this story (published yesterday) we misidentified the current owner of Shooter's Supply as Marvin Mann The current owner is Dan Lovett. The story above has been edited to reflect the correction.

Does that shock you? Would it shock you to know that I used to belong to a gun club that practiced in the basement of a high school? Yep, the high school had a shooting range in its basement!!
If you had open and exposed electrical wires in your house, people would tell you that this is a bad idea. Think of your babies. But in America, firearms designed to kill only people are considered just adult toys and not any real danger to your family. What could possibly go wrong?
So, CalPers and the CalSTRs pressured Cerberus to sell off the Freedom Group. Does
that mean CalPers and the CalSTRs will pressure or withdraw their funds from Hollywood to stop making movies where firearms and gun violence are included ? Will they pressure actors and actresses from contracting into movies or tv shows that have "gun violence" ? Will they pressure video game makers to do the same ? Of course not, the hypocrits. So how about your show does an investigation of CalPers & CalSTRS and their investments in Hollywood.
Of course this now means that NBC will no longer broadcast any show or movie which
includes guns. NBC will have to refund the commercial money. Rachel please let us
know when this happens. Your loyal followers would like to know.
The primary fault at Newtown are Adam's parents. They both knew Adam was "nuts". Regardless of their divorce they created him thus their responsibilty. Family financial issues do not appear to be a hindrance for getting Adam proper and timely psychiatric help - they both failed.
Red herrings do not make for witty commentary
Someone please let Rachel know that President Obama won reelection by 4.75 million votes, not "by three million votes"?
(And still counting in New York state, and not counting as many as a million Democratic-leaning votes in the northeast that weren't cast due to Hurricane Sandy.)
As of the night of the election it was 3 million votes. I've heard that it's anywhere from 4-5.3 million now. Perhaps she was relying on the old information since it's the most reliable to date?
Just saying, the RMS needs more videos of corgis :-)
Especially in the throes of a FRAP (Frenetic Random Action Period)...
I want a new movie where the good guys solve the dilemma with reason. Star Trek used to do that for me.
One of the reasons I enjoy the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies...
Yes, there was a lot of action, and yes, Spidey had some great fights, but in every one of them, it wasn't Spider-Man who saved the day... It was Peter Parker who thought it out, in essence, winning through his head and his heart...
This is to Rachel re: Wednesday's show in which you mispronounced the singer's name (I'm not even going to try to spell it because I've never seen it in print, but it's pronounced "Kesha"): on NPR's All Things Considered Wednesday evening the commentator did even better than you and called the singer "Kee-o-sha." Maybe she'll be getting a video reply from Ms. Ke$ha too?
Kesha plays Music, but I also like TRMS’s “ music “.
So now I wish to play a game called : What If ?? ……I will start.
* What If: We forget how bad the GOP is screwing us over in early 2013, and then forget to vote in the mid-terms? *
The Republican Party is imploding and taking everyone with them, proof they could care less about this country in the end.
May I quote ELO? Easy Money, Easy Money !
Wow, Wow. Breaking news on the failure of the house vote. Maybe this will go down as:
Plan B: Boehner's Boner (the "mistake" sense of the term).
They can't govern. This is ridiculous, and is further evidence that Woodward got it totally wrong in his book "The Price of Politics". This appears to be a repeat of the negotiation last year, further reinforcing the analysis that the dysfunction is in the GOP caucus. The plans fail because Boehner's caucus refuses to go along with any compromise he offers.
Maybe the only hope of getting anything done in the next 2 years is to form a Unity caucus in the House composed of centrists from both party who have a hope of getting 216 votes and will accept the negotiations their chosen leader makes on their behalf.
Dallas has a lot of political baggage.
