Wow, the gun freaks posting offensive comments seems to be an everyday thing now. What are they so overly concerned about? No one is proposing a total ban on firearms, yet, that is where their opinions ride. Are there not enough rational people left?
I've thought for a while that those who want no ban on any form of weapon or ammo are paranoid about the government taking away their rights. Paranoia is a form of mental illness.
The funny thing about that Peaches218, is that W. was the President that went about dismantling the right to privacy and they never uttered a word. Makes you wonder why doesn't it? Why did they never say a word while the Patriot Act was being enacted, why when Homeland Security decided they could do anything they wanted they never uttered a peep, the new procedures at the Airports, never uttered a word. Then W. went about spending like a drunk teenager with his parents credit card and not a peep. 7 Trillion in Bank bailouts and never uttered a word, not until Pres. Obama wanted to help regular average Americans concerning housing did they find a voice. Makes you wonder why?

This is why we should not arm our teachers and school staff. We already know that keeping a gun in one's home greatly increases one's chance of being shot at home. Obviously, then, keeping a gun in the classroom would greatly increase the chances of someone being shot at school.

I'm bracing for the flood of dishonest hagiography of Schwartzkopf that is sure to come. This being an otherwise slow news week will move such dreck to the front pages.
With no hope of being heard, I say please, news people, speak ill of the dead. In other words, tell the truth about what Scwartzkopf did.
I never understand why "Second Amendment" advocates never read the first half of the Second Amendment. Everyone toting all kinds of firearms around and shooting them at random is hardly a well-regulated militia.
So when are we going to regulate the militia?
If Buzzfeed is right that the XL pipeline will go through and is the reason for Lisa Jackson's departure, it is further indication of the lack of seriousness of the administration on climate change. Recognise that the White House has a great deal of power through the EPA that it has declined to use. Obama does not need legislation to declare CO2 the pollutant that it is, and put in place regulations to limit extraction of CO2 producing fossil fuels.
It is plausible that what has been going on is that Jackson made a case that having won re-election, Obama could use this power without restraint. Apparently Superstorm Sandy was not super enough to overcome the appeal of geopolitical freedom from middle east energy production.
Apparently, she is under investigation for some back-door email flap. Whether that is the reason or just routine follow-up I don't know.
