John Boehner Declares Undying Love for Harry Ried
Fiscal cliff negotiations between House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) reportedly got hot and nasty last Friday.
According to Politico, several sources claimed to have overheard a verbal altercation between the two men in the White House lobby.
"The American people I don't think understand the House of Representatives is operating without the House of Representatives," Reid said. "It's being operated by a dictatorship of the speaker, not allowing the vast majority of the House of Representatives to get what they want."
This apparently got John Boeher's juices flowing.
Boehner reportedly pointed at Reid and said, "Lets go f***."
"What are you talking about?" Reid asked.
And Boehner again said, "Lets go f***."
The encounter occurred soon after Reid took to the Senate floor and argued that Boehner could have ended the fiscal cliff standoff by bringing up legislation passed by the Senate for a vote.
The Senate passed the bill at 2 a.m. and the House followed suit 20 hours later.
How great to look out your office window and have the Radio City marquis right there?
(Not to mention all the food carts with falafel and all kinds of other great stuff just downstairs...)
I hope there is time to do a "John Boenher is Bad at his job segment" on tonight's show
* I just downloaded a new self-help-book called : How to Break the Worlds Heart in Ten Years Or Less, (and/or) Hate Beats Caring Most Every Time. (and/or) Why you can not make money from people who are happy with life.
* There once was a factory in a poor country. They showed up for work right up until the pay checks came. Then they did not show up for work on Monday. They had too much money ? That was the rumor. The final solution was that a big discount store had to be imported. Then all the Mamas wanted refrigerators and the economy exploded and everyone showed up on Monday morning to pay for them. World conquest via Walmarts ? ( and/or) Make your Mama smile. You pick.
Why don't you read "Whole Stole the American Dream" by Hedirck Smith and "Why Nations Fail" by Acemoglu and Robinson? And then read "The Price of Politics" by Woodward. Apparently Obama and his staff didn't know that you have to kiss the behinds of everyone in Congress to get them to do the right thing!!!
approve of tonight soundtrack
Please play Lindsay Graham suggesting that Mrs. Clinton's stomach flu/concussion was a ruse to avoid testifying in front of Congress, followed by the video of the same Mrs. Clinton being discharged from the Hospital. Someone needs to hold their stinky feet to the fire.
What if Hillary is just a plan old human?
I find it hard to believe that no one has thought of Boner and Cantor and Ryan trying to put Christie in his place over his approval of Pres. Obama's work with the disaster. This guy (Christie) is in his place and its with his constituency. As usual whoever is holding Boner's strings --pulled the wrong cord. These GOP'ers tried to hurt Christie ,without ever thinking about the hurting people of the Northeast. I am not a Christie fan but I wished he was a DEM or at least a Centralist!!!
People are asking why Fox is bashing Clinton,, Who do they (GOP) believe will be up front in the next election? CLINTON !! Looks like the GOP hasn't learned a thing in the last 4 Years!
Ouch....
Your guest said there is no equivalent physical invasion of men in the abortion/birth control debate. Well, I have an idea to allow men to get more "skin in the game" - literally. Simply put, I have single handedly solved the entire problem of both ABORTION *AND* BIRTH CONTROL. It's very logical, really, with not one, but TWO simple and easy to understand solutions.
(A) Don't have sex unless you want to have a baby. See how easy? We can always make it illegal (And don't think I am excusing married men!). Oh wait...not feasible? It certainly isn't working now. But I hear men say they would do ANYTHING to stop abortion. NOW is their chance...
(2) Since we can't agree on that one, how about we sterilize ALL baby boys at birth. It can be done when they are circumcised. By force, if necessary, of course, just like people want to force women to carry their accidentally fertilized eggs until they ARE a baby. We can't stop there, though, we have to "give" the same vasectomies to all adult males, too, even the married ones. (I bet all those anti-choice people don't realize that married women have abortions from time to time, too.)
As radical as it sounds at FIRST, this is NOT an unreasonable idea. No one is harmed, vasectomies are reversible, and then no one can call women baby murderers or those other lovely things that the thugs like to hate on women with. Maury will probably have a less entertaining show, but you have to make sacrifices somewhere (besides just women). A quick little snip and we're all safe to go to heaven.
No more abortion, no more birth control, problem solved. You're welcome. Why don't women run the world again?
And, a quick little vasectomy solves several problems, because the only way we allow them to have their vasectomies reversed is to pass an IQ test first. Then we can get rid of all the rethuglicans before they breed, too. TWO birds. Right, ladies?
This is why the Republican party shouldn't completely evaporate: SOMEONE has got to have a rational argument against ridiculous statements like this. Even if it were made in jest. Terry O'Neill was obviously not advocating something like this tonight on Rachel's show. I think her whole point was that diminishing government intervention also includes battling legislation that is overall bad for women. Pick your battles and leave alone battles that have already been finished. Just sayin.
Where on EARTH did you get the idea that the subject is closed? You need to go listen to the fundamentalists hovering on Hobby Lobby's Facebook page slavering over each other about murderous baby killers. There are all kinds of new laws that they JUST snuck thru that will make abortions much more difficult in - Michigan, I believe. They have tried to criminalize abortion doctors and women having them.
I PERSONALLY am sick to death of being accused of something that I've never done yet will firmly defend another woman the right to do. That is, NOT have to bear a child because an egg accidentally got fertilized, either keeping her from realizing her potential or making her one of those famed baby killers in everyone else's eyes...You tell me what is so ridiculous about this that isn't FAR more ridiculous from the right? THIS would STOP ABORTION, and you don't even have to lose your life or be inconvenienced in the LEAST. It is FAR PAST TIME for men to step up and TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. Splain why I am wrong? OR FIND SOMETHING BETTER THAN WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW. The fight is far from over, and if you don't know that, you are NOT paying attention.
Unbelievable, FABULOUS chart on tonight's show illustrating the downturn, wars and Bush tax cuts destroyed our economy. I lost everything. Many did.
I'd love to get a copy of that visual by email, if possible. Thanks!
I also would like to have the charts from toda us show illustrating the contribution to the deficit from the unfunded wars and the prescription drug p,an(did you have that) and the. Bush tax cuts. Thanks.
why doesn't she get on her propaganda rag and tell us why it's a great thing that "mr. climate change himself" al gore just sold current tv to al jazeera. maybe hillary can explain it since she also loves al jazeera
You ever watch Al Jazeera? Get over your phobias. Al Jazeera is just CNN from the Middle East!!
matter of fact...yes. it's just as full of @!$%# as cnn
he only made a couple of hundred million. i don't know that i'd call that a miserable failure. i wouldn't mind having a little of that misery
