The caption reads: "Josh Shaull, owner of Airtistix Airbrush in Eastwood Mall, displays his painting of Baxter, a Great Dane owned by Jim Westhoff of Greenwood, Del., and his family. Baxter's photo won a contest to be drawn by Shaull. The 8-year-old dog died shortly after the submitted photo was taken."

It's sad to me that these beautiful dogs seem to have a shorter life span.

Yorik, Baxter, I knew him, Horatio."Surely Baxter was a gentle giant and seems to be depicted as that in his painting. So sad that Great Danes have such a short lifespan....but unlike us humans, dogs don't sweat the small stuff!
