When are you going to cover AlGore's selling of Current TV to some Oil Sheiks??
BTW, those Oil Sheiks also fund the terrorists who attack people in America and Europe. Those are AlGore's friends??

Al Jazeera was founded and is owned and funded by Qatari oil sheiks. You all need to do a little . . . homework.
That doesn't make it any different than CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, Wall Street Journal, etc. They are all owned by corporations who started their businesses in some other field.
And why should a competitor talk about that sail?
Well, I guess you have no problem with Rupert Murdock invading the American media world with Fox News (I notice you left them off your list). Free enterprise, freedom of speech, and all that. Sure. Never mind that he uses it as an outlet for his insane right-wing propaganda. Never mind that his British operation is under major investigations for nasty, illegal activities (hacking emails, etc.).
OK. But the oil sheiks are buying Current specifically to get a piece of the American media market. And the oil sheiks do have their own agenda, and AJ is not the pure, pristine media outlet you make it out to be. They censor and bend just like everyone else (yes, I have watched it).
The point here is that these people (unlike Murdock) have an agenda that is really, really evil. They fund and support terrorists who plot to kill Americans, bomb American property, kill people who support America. Read the declassified reports from the CIA and Defense Department. (And then look into how they treat their own women, and the abuse of immigrants they hire to do their dirty work.)
As to TRMS, it would be good journalism if it did some of that reading too, and brought to us the story of the sellout of Current TV to anti-American oil sheiks. AlGore cashes in with cash from people who hate America and decent, civilized values--what a Patriot! Or is AlGore just too sacred a cow to put under that sort of scrutiny?

Al Gore's life mission has been about environmental concerns many of which are known scientifically to be caused by fossil fuels. Do you also think that Mr. Gore is selling out his own passion; giving up the ship; throwing in the towel of his fight for sound environmnental policy?
This deal to sell Current TV to Al Jazeera (AlGore?, Al Who?) is very exciting and I can't wait for the outcome of this deal for the American media market. I think it will be exciting, and maybe, just maybe, begin enabling the downfall of the News Corporation media empire.

My sources for Qatar supporting terrorists are numerous articles in the New York Times, the Financial Times, BBC Arabic News, the Global Integrity Report, and the Congressional Research Service. This was covered widely, even in the lamestream media, from August thru October. I've tried to post links, but this stupid blog doesn't allow me to post multiple links; often does not let me post even one link. It's a really screwed up blog in that respect.
Suffice it to say, Qatar's support for Islamist terrorist organizations in North Africa is well documented by the authoratative sources I've referenced, especially in the European press, and not controversial. A Google search will get you some good specific sources. Until this blog straightens up its functionality, that's the best it will let me do.

Am I reading the news reports right? Did Cantor really vote against the Violence Against Women Act because it would apply to American Indians? Look, we really, really need that law on the reservations, and we need stronger enforcement too. This is the Repuglican party in a nutshell: women-hating racists. Vile.

I was so pleased to see Cantor leaving the House floor after the their failed vote on 1/1/13...that arrogant little smirk wiped off his face. Priceless! and very satisfying for me. We need to keep that arrogant smirk off his face. Kind of like a barometer for knowing we're on the right track.

It was the most persuasive explanation I've ever gotten from any media. Steve is like a professor, analyzing this political momentum as if it's a process of physical movement or a chemical reaction. We've got the BEST lecture of Poli-Physics, regarding this issue.
I must admit something off topic and really stupid here. When I would see the headline "Ahead on the 1/2 Maddow Show ... or 1/3 or 1/4 Maddow Show ..." I kept wondering why just talk about part of the show -- why not tell us about the whole show? Not only that - the portion is shrinking every day.

I like that you have a deputy editor of Popular Mechanics on to talk about the oil rig in Alaska. Not quite as cool as a full-fledged Moment of Geek, but I love anything that expands our POV outside the oppressive and insular Beltway bubble.
Steve Clemons is so brilliant , clear and factual. Sure hope Rachel covers the hopeful nomination of Chuck Hagel and who is going after him. Let's hope that the Massachusetts Governor does not pick the self appointed Barney Frank he would vote against Hagel since Frank turns hard right on all things having to do with Israel and what they want which is an unnecessary attack on Iran. No to Barney Frank...Yes to Hagel for Secretary of Defense!
