Tonight's guests include:
Beau Biden, Delaware Attorney General
David and Francine Wheeler, who lost their six year old son Ben at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT last month
Here's executive producer Bill Wolff, with a preview of tonight's show:

One of the funniest and informative shows available today, Rachel should have 90 minutes every night
WOW , Excuse ME , but , This Francine Wheeler is as Cold as ICE ; Everything that she refers to appears to be about and toward HERSELF !? No-Tears , Non-responsive as toward her dead son , Only toward Herself , I Do Not Sense Any Remorse toward her Dead Son from her , but , Only Towards Herself !? David Wheeler on the other hand at least shows Some Emotions ! Francine constantly just refers to herself !? This just does Not seem Normal to Me ! Please Review this interview and decide for yourself ! Listen Closely to Exactly what she states ! She seems awfully unaffected and self-centered , She must be a Republican ! IMO ! Very Disturbing ! IMO !
Sir,
Maybe if you had had your son shot for no reason, you would be a bit icy yourself. Whaddayathink?
With all due respect, "Operation" - you cannot be serious - this woman, this team is working every fiber of their being to honor their dead son - I spot NO DIFFERENCE in the responses from Mr. or Mrs. Wheeler - Unless you have been in their exact situation - I think the least you could do is have respect for the way(s) in which she remembers, honors, grieves. Just that much?
Sir , QB #1.2 ~
I Have lost a son and I would and have been a WRECK ! I Never would have just spoken about Only about Myself !
JAD #1.3 - Watch and observe that video again ! Goof !
I'm sorry for your loss, but in that situation did you not expect the liberty to grieve in your own way? Would you not afford this poor woman that same right?
#1.1 - you're calling names now - I'm done.
operation Tango #1.4
This is possibly her BEING a wreck. Ladies and gentlemen, we are embroiled in a debate about mental health issues surrounding these horrific events, the least we can do is empathize with the families and not criticize their reactions. Leave them be.
No 2 people grieve the same. Everybody has his/her own method of grieving. It's internal, not external.
Operation-do some research into grief. Not everyone grieves the same way. You have no right to judge her.
What does the lady look like from behind the camera? She's like Wilson from "Home Improvement"...we never see her face we just hear her voice.
Media Outlook about shooting. Another arrested in woods, and man who got away was chased by helicopter..as per police tapes tell. Why isn't this covered? Why is the questions NOT asked?

definitely watching tonight!
Republicans sponsored gun control when it was dealing with angry black people in the 60s . . . the Black Panthers . . . But now that it is about angry white people and owning automatic military weapons they have no business using . . . some how gun safety for the good of the public is against the 2nd amendment ?
Crazy people seriously.
What has been the history of banning machine guns and how was it legislated in the 20's
Been watching this with these gun rights and it is no surprise. Because when you keep letting some rich bastards run everything and have rich bastards pay off politicians what do you expect? Rich bastards are all about greed and like an ape wanting their shiny little trinkets. There is no rational thought to what rich bastards do, except just keep taking and taking with no care or concern of what they do at all. And if someone speaks up to the rich bastards well you just crush them down to nothing. What did you expect would happen in America and the world, when you have these people crave power, corrupt, arrogant, being hypocrites, greedy, and deceivers? Has the lesson been learned yet? Well time will tell won’t it? Of course, the Romans never did learn their lesson and look where it got them. The Romans were walking morons and ended up still being walking morons with a final end to their stupidity. Just wait until Global Warming really starts clicking in things should get even more interesting and even more stupid. Man will show for once what he really is an ape or a human with an intelligent working brain.
My respect to Rachel for having gone to Newtown and having met with the grieving parents. Having done that myself right after the tragedy (as a psychiatrist speaking to a community group), I know how overwelmingly horrific it is for the families - and the emotional toll of just connecting with that community.
Your interview with David and Francine made me cry and still I had too laugh too. Love your show and you!
Robert from Amsterdam (Europe)
To Operation Tango - I think it is hugely unfair to speak ANY judgmental comment on the demeanor of the Newtown parents Rachel interviewed. NONE of us, unless you have lived through the horror these folks have, can possibly understand what life has been like for them. These parents have had to process losing their BABIES...who were slaughtered in the most senseless tragedy we can imagine. They've had to explain this tragedy to their other children. They had to go through a holiday season without their fallen son or daughter. Their lives and community have been pummeled by this unimaginable event. And on top of that they've also had to endure all of the public eye. For them to have the courage and strength to speak of their pain and tell the world about their child, I applaud them. Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler, I send you much love and blessings. May God hold you in his hands always until he reunites you with your sweet son.
I've been a fan since the days of AirAmerica and tonight's interview of David and Francine Wheeler is the reason why. To be able to speak to two people experiencing unbearable loss and ask intelligent questions in light of such an unspeakable tragedy is truly a gift. Thank you for a touching and informative segment. I especially loved the final part where Francine showed her necklace and talked about her son having perfect pitch. I think she's right, Ben will do great things. How sad it is, though that this is just one more thing we must never forget.

Rabid gun rights advocates are calling the President a dictator among other things. If he is a dictator there are millions who are on the dictators side. Of course any sane person knows he's not a dictator. I'm sure anyone who has lost a family member or friend to gun violence does not think he's a dictator. Seems to me he's a President who wants to curb gun violence in this country. Dictator? I have'nt seen any book burning, shutting down the free press, arrests for speaking against the government or anything else that real dictators do. All I see is a President who wants sensible gun legislation. If the founding fathers could see whats happening today I think they would change the way they wrote the second amendment. How many people could a shooter slaughter in a crowded place with a musket?
Assault weapons, assault weapons, assault weapons! How about the FACT that almost 1/2 of the gun massacres have been done with semi-automatic HANDGUNS???? Let's ban those, too! Why not? Why don't you talk about that? Fort Dix, Virginia Tech and Tucson were all perpetrated with semi-automatic handguns. BE CONSISTENT, don't be knee jerk about this issue. Sheesh, Rachel.
HUMAN BEINGS are not a natural resource!!!!!
Don’t ever let them call you a natural resource, have you seen what they do to natural resources? They will strip-mine your soul for the sake of profit! VITAL RESOURCES - DONT TRUST DEVRY or CISCO!!!! - Dont trust the corporate education industrial complex! Dont trust the advertisements on MSNBC from the army and big oil.
Whatever your view are about the Wheeler interview, I for one found the continuous playback of it very transparent. There is some editing to show some pictures, but for the most part it seems to be unedited. I am often annoyed with shows that edit interview to show only selected responses.
Thank you for giving this family a way to express their issues/concerns.
