Aren't they some cute little boogers !
As an enrichment volunteer for great apes at the L.A. Zoo, I was not only thrilled about the NIH recommendations, but also that you brought it to public attention. The research chimps have lived in such horrible conditions for so long, it is heartwarming to see them retired to places like Chimp Haven, Save the Chimps, and Fauna Foundation where they are finally able to be chimps. I thank you for showing the wonderful footage you showed and bringing some awareness to the public.
99.4% Chimp
Will you be providing the charts used during tonight's show (I see the underlying surveys have been posted)? I'm specifically looking for the ones relating to the popularity of various aspects of the Preventing Gun Violence Plan, and the unpopularity of the plan as a whole.
Ms. R.M. says, ``... we share 98% of our DNA with" Chimpanzees. — Neil deGrasse Tyson (an Astronomer, late from PBS) said the same, incorrectly.
That Fraction pertains to the 2 to 5% of the Human Genome that is encoded for Protein-Synthesis. — The rest of the Human DNA is different than that of Chimpanzees [*]
(except for the Locations where "Endogenous Retro-Viruses" have been joined to DNA).
This "non-coding DNA" controls the time & extent of the expression of Genes, he said.

Yeah, but when a group of species are so closely related they can, with a bit of medical effort, act as blood donors for each other, they are very closely related.
Chimps, bonobos, orangutans, and humans are all that closely related.
It is also Amazing that we "humans" (as we or someone has labeled us) are the weakest of these species , we are the most vulnerable and the least physically capable , perhaps mentally as well , compared to them !? Would a so-called human be able to survive as our cousins are capable of - I seriously doubt it !
These chimps (as we call them) have a much more reasonable regulated society amongst themselves than we (the humans) do ! In fact WE are Not so much different than they are , but then again , We are Worse as a society than they are , Just take a good look at the teapublicans and how they resent and separate others that do not fit into their clan ! The beast still exists with the human genome and - so-called civilized society ! Observe , and then , Think about it ! Heheheheheeee ......
So basically McConnell came on all reasonable for once and sweat-talked Reid into doing nothing so they keep their power to make the democrats look like ineffective fools.
And anyone who doesn't realise that the republicans would not hesitate to change the rules if they were in the majority is definitely a fool.
Now, now Rikaishi... let's give credit where credit is due... don't steal Harry Reid's thunder... I'm sure he stands behind every decision that he makes...
The chimps are cuter and would be far more entertaining than the vast majority of the people in Congress. They would definitely do less damage to our economy. They might fight amongst themselves, but they would not start wars. I say - let's do it! But I object to sending those in Congress to Chimp Haven. They've earned a special place in a real world workhouse. Let them serve out their terms in there and then send them packing back to wherever it was they came from. There will be no hero's welcome for them.
Your cute story doesn't change the fact that the Dems failed, miserably, today. Reid did not do what he said he would do. What gives? Why not mention that on your show, except a slight sidebar?
The Republicans have won a major victory by getting Reid to go along with their filibuster rules.
The DEMOCRATS LOST TODAY! TODAY WAS THE ONLY DAY THEY COULD HAVE GOTTEN THIS PASSED! YOU DID NOT REPORT THE MOST IMPORTANT STORY.
Sorry for all the caps, but I think it is necessary, when you do not report on the most important story of the day, and seem to need to be reminded of why you are in that job.
I am just not so sure how concerned we should be about this filibuster issue, considering the Republicans have been stealing and looking to steal more elections. What happens than, when the republicans steal a majority of seats in Congress and the Senate. The filibuster could be a double edged sword, especially with a majority vote of 60.
Chimps in DC probably would be a good idea. Just think chimps will actually sit together to pick the insects off each other and even give a hand to scratching each others lower parts.
As long as Chimp Haven doesn't have any kind of test to pass, like having a steady heartbeat, the republicans should fit in nicely there.
