Thank you Rachel. Earlier tonight I blogged on the Ed Show sight the exact same thing you just said regarding Iraq. I am so glad I am in league with people that see the other side instead of a John McCain side. John McCain was so worried about some surge of troops in Iraq when the question should have been why was the United States even in Iraq. Lindsey Graham was concerned about some comment about a lobbyist for Israel when you should have been questioning the Prime Minister of Israel for talking to the President of the United States in a disrespectful way. Then Graham says something stupid and says he cannot support Hagel until Panetta speaks to the Senate Committee. What????????????? Graham is not going to support Hagel regardless whether Panetta spoke ot not. Just say it and stop with the BS. As far as I am concern Graham mind was made up long before the confirmation even started. Anything to do with Obama Graham is against. The list just goes on and on.
Obama doesn't seem to be totally for his guy. The WH has already leaked that they are "disappointed" by his performance.
To the idiot Darrin Stephens... have you ever seen pictures of children with cleft palates? Yes, plastic surgery makes one better looking. And yes, guns make one feel safer. Is that a bad thing? Duh.
Shooter there is a very real difference between "Feeling Safer" and "Being Safer".
Statistically guns make you less safe. Period. It is empirical data.
and as for your argument on the plastic surgery metaphor...you are making a false comparison (even from a metaphorical sense) and you know it.
Let's see that empirical data.
As for plastic surgery, this clown made a universal statement that isn't true. that's his problem not mine.
Tell that to the students who were saved in the recent Atlanta shooting:
The NRA said that putting armed security in schools was the only way to immediately make students safer from bad guys with guns and everyone laughed.
@RobDon
This is true, when someone armed enters a place for the purpose of doing harm... the unarmed are told to hide, try to escape, or as a last resort attempt to defend themselves against the armed individual. Then they must wait for armed law enforcement to come...
Having an armed resource officer at each school is more logical than outlandish.
I'm glad the 14 yr-old victim will survive.
I'm relieved the armed kid didn't have a death wish and dropped his gun.
I'm relieved the armed guard took action.
I'm relieved the kid wasn't armed with an AK 47.
I'm relieved we don't have to live in a police state with contracted armed guards at every park, every school, every community center, every public bathroom...
Each school district must make it's own determination for best measures for safety.

TRMS, I do not have esteem issues. Statistically, most domestic abusers use firearms as a tool of intimidation, and some eventually carry through with their threats. If you don't know what it's like, don't assume to.
OK, if we have armed guards at schools, what about everywhere else that mass shooting have occurred? Are we going to have armed guards at hospitals, theaters, malls, etc.?
I guess that would make us a military based society. Kind of what the idiot gun nuts do not want.
Love that "idiot" and "nuts" need to be combined with "gun".
Perhaps there are those of us out there that have developed views different from yours about the 2nd amendment and how to address violence in a more effective way..
