Today's installment of campaign-related news items that won't necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* With Massachusetts Republicans needing a U.S. Senate candidate, Scott Brown is out, William Weld is out, Richard Tisei is out, but there's one report that suggests Tagg Romney may get in.
* Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) opened his campaign headquarters over the weekend, telling supporters his race is the only one in 2014 "with any national significance."
* In Iowa, though voters statewide prefer Rep. Tom Latham (R) for next year's Senate race, Iowa Republicans prefer Rep. Steve King (R).
* In Pennsylvania, Gov. Tom Corbett (R) will seek re-election next year, but before that happens, he'll have a special prosecutor investigating his handling of the Penn State child sexual abuse scandal.
* In Nebraska, Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy (R) was assumed to be a leading gubernatorial candidate, but over the weekend, he was forced to resign over questions about improper, late-night cellphone calls to four women who weren't his wife.
* In Georgia, Rep. Tom Price (R), denied a leadership post in the U.S. House, is now eyeing the U.S. Senate race.
* In what's likely to be one of the more important U.S. House races of 2014, former state Speaker Andrew Romanoff (D) will take on Rep. Mike Coffman (R) in Colorado next year.
* And in Tennessee, Rep. Scott DesJarlais (R), despite his many scandals, has vowed he will "unequivocally run for re-election" next year.

Please, Iowa Republicans, maintain the now-traditional strategy of nominating an obvious lunatic for the Senate. We deeply appreciate your commitment to public displays of moron stupidiy and ignorance.
Mitch McConnell's race is certainly the most significant, but not for the reasons he believes. For Democrats, his getting reelected is unthinkable. Of all people, it is time for the turtle to crawl back into his shell.
Let's help him cross the road, folks.
Was Tagg the one with the creepy serial killer eyes?
That.. Doesn't really narrow it down any.
I think he was the one who said he wanted to punch Obama coz he was mean to his daddy?

Alan..... I don 't think so, think he's the one who looks the most like Mitt, Tagg I'm talking about. He's the oldest son as well.
Frikkin' Corbett.
Knobson,
I live in PA and will certainly vote to get Tom Corbett OUT. He is a menace to our commonwealth. He would privatize my cat if he could.
The jury is out on the state stores; I lived in NY a while and they have a private system that works great, as does Florida. The lottery is another story; I see no reason to turn it over to Camelot, A British company.
My feeling about ANY Repub is if he be fer it I be agin it! You simply cannot trust them to do anything that would benefit the average person. They live in an alternate reality.
Dear GOP,
Wow. My Bad. I did not vote for you. Sorry. Why? Well….. I thought maybe you were plan nuts, or worse just traveling pan-handlers. You seem to have no soul of your own. You seem less-interested in winning an honest-debate then just making sure the other guy loses. Ever jab-a-stick-in the-front-spokes of a fellow bicycle racer in order to win? Yes. We Americans did that as kids. I will bet that, most GOP, as teenagers, found it highly-entertaining tripping-the-kids-with-the-most-books in their arms as well. By the way, I am still not laughing about that thirty years later.......jeck !! Oh ya and guess what, I learned how to vote. And I think I enjoy it.
OK, that was just plan mean, my bad.
