Interesting to see Nevada Sen. Heller mentioned for supporting background checks. This is a guy who shills for the financial industry. I'm wondering if he's trying to maneuver through Reid, who let the filibuster reform slip for (what I consider) his own job security. I'll be watching to see how it plays out.
Brennan knows if you've been bad or good, so be good for goodness sake.
It looks like you really really do not want to be on the naughty list.
Satirical image of the Man with the License to Kill.
I think what our President does with precision drone strikes is more than appropriate. These are NOT innocent citizens just strolling around town, and YOU KNOW IT. Why you want to help stir up crap about Obama is beyond me. Why don't you just go ahead and suggest he be impeached. We don't live in a safe world any more. These people hate us and are continually plotting to do terrible things to us. Obama's drones systematically takes out terrorists before they take us out. Hurray for him. Rachael, you have always been my favorite . But I am so disappointed and disgusted with you that I may never watch again. Lynda Wallace.
Sure. You may be right that they all were legitimate military targets.
But how do you know?
What happens when a future Mitt Romney or Dick Cheney is President and there are people helping leftists in Central America who are not killing anyone but are accused of agitating unrest that is threatening to overthrow a government friendly to US? Say the CIA placed the leaders claiming they were terrorists guilty of heinous crimes.
What then? Are you for requiring judicial panels to ok the list only then? Only when a republican is in office but not a democrat? What's the big deal- if the President is convinced, then what is the huge risk of having to convince a majority of judges with the necessary security clearances?
This is not about trying to drag down Obama. It is about being loyal to principle. This goes deeper than merely transcending personality cults to recognize constitutional principles. Because what we do on this issue must not merely be constitutional.
We must be deeply loyalty to empiricism- the most reliable mechanism we have to know what we know is true. Otherwise the checks and balances can be as much a charade as checks and balances on Wall Street were.
We must have a system based on independently verifiable fact, or our republic is doomed.
Lynda, which part of this do you take issue with?
OK, so while watching tonight in Missoula, Montana, as Rachel dived into the meatier questions surrounding the DOJ white paper on extrajudicial assassination, the signal was abruptly cut, both video and audio -- black screen. All other channels were normal. The blackout lasted until the beginning of the commercial break. Probably some kind of legitimate-if-annoying glitch, but the timing was certainly interesting. I'm curious to see this happened anywhere else? Cable company is Optimum (Cablevision.)

The best article I have read yet on the subject.
And, Dave, the timing isn't arbitrary. On election night, the cable was cut when MSNBC announced Obama as the winner and this was reported by a lot of people.
The biggest issue facing all of us is Global Climate Change and this needs to be The Topic on every show. We will become extinct if dramatic changes are not made. Have NASA climate scientist, James Hansen, on show regularly, as well as others to explain the urgency.
Raw coconut, Potitsa, and plain yogurt, in any combination.
Obama 2020!
What is the problem with the white paper regarding terrorism? What happens when you have Ted Nugent and the Ted Nugents of the world making veil threats to the Presdient and others. Just look at 9/11. There was intelligence that indicated a possible threat on US soil and the US did not take the intelligence seriously. Just look at Fort Hood. The US did not see that one coming. That person was "allowed" to surrender and look at him today. Costing the US a ton of money and making a fool of the government and yes he is a US CITIZEN. The 9/11 and the Fort Hood victims were not given a chance to surrender. What do you tell the families of those Americans? When the Secret Service visited Ted Nugent they determined he is no more than a bag of hot air but when does he become more than a bag of hot air? I assume when he kills Americans and say it is for a "good" cause. Next you want to assume Mr. Kyle is not a hero. He only did what all of us say something needs to be done and nothing is done. He acted and no more needs to be said. So I do not care about the white paper because the United States is always under attack and there are many home grown terrorists. I still say the Libya attack was financed by "guess who" home grown terrorists.
Eliot Spitzer is one of the rare individuals capable of shining a bright light on Wall Street, and explain what is going on in a way that is easily grasped by a broad audience. But he is much more than an expert on Wall Street. I followed him on Current TV where he demonstrated penetrating insight in to the full range of issues facing America. Surely you guys have a record of them. Take a look at random. They were first rate.
Please Please give Mr. Spitzer a daytime show. At least give him a try in a slot after O'Donnell's. Huge numbers of people DVR all their shows, so you can get empirical data from folks like Tivo of what his draw will be if he hits a normal slot. If you can't manage that, how about a weekend show after Chris's but before Mellissa's? Then he would have the necessary time to really get into details on some complicated subjects.
This guy is a brilliant leader with a very sharp mind. The country deserves to hear this voice of clarity.
I second that!
Eliot Spitzer is morally bankrupt. Did you forget why he had to resign?
