Though plenty of Republican pundits fared poorly in 2012, Dick Morris seemed to struggle more than most. You'll recall that the Republican strategist guaranteed a Romney landslide, then later conceded he said things on the air he didn't really believe as part of a larger partisan agenda. It wasn't long after Election Day that even Fox News decided to bench him.
That was two months ago. Now, Morris is a man without a network home.
The Fox News Channel has declined to renew its contract with Dick Morris, a spokeswoman for the channel confirmed on Tuesday, three months after Mr. Morris was widely derided for predicting a landslide victory for Mitt Romney in the Nov. 6 presidential election.
Media Matters published a related report today, highlighting Morris' 15 years of "countless ethical violations, inaccurate electoral predictions, and offensive, false, and dishonest comments."
Though Morris and Fox News have parted ways, as best as I can tell, he continues to be paid by The Hill to publish a regular column.
In the bigger picture, I imagine everyone has their favorite Dick Morris story. My personal favorite was in September 2011 when he made a lengthy argument built around a single observation: the economy lost 30,000 health care jobs in the month of August 2011. There was, however, a small problem: the economy actually gained 30,000 health care jobs in August. Morris' entire indictment was based on numbers he misunderstood.

Sound like Fox News tag line. Morris is a perfect mascot for them. Surprised they got rid of him.
probly got rid of him cause they could get the same results much cheaper. dick's a bit pricey.
Dick Morris is a veritable smorgasbord of incompetence and bad judgment...how he ever managed to hitch his wagon to Clinton's star still remains a mystery to me
Actually, Morris's political predictions were very useful. Whatever he predicted, you just assumed that the opposite was likely to happen.
very true. yet Bill Oreilly continued to have him on, as did others.
i have emailed Bill Oreilly many times just to say, "nobody listens to Dick Morris".
FUX NEWS WANTED TO BELIEVE DICK MORRIS.
The guy seems the best example for how the conservative movement has become a money-making scam. It makes me wonder how many of the talking heads actually believe what they are saying.
that would be none.

It involves escorts and toes.
Couldn't happen to a better toad! Now can we get the FCC to revoke Rupert's license to putrefy the airwaves?
Only in America can you be such a creep and make boatloads of money. At least I hope in other countries they are more discerning...
I wouldn't worry about him. You know the old saying, when the going gets tough, the tough hire hookers to suck toes while making phone calls to powerful friends who have no idea their potentially politically sensitive conversations are being overheard by someone else in the room.
Morris grifted a long time on Fox...he should be thankful
Kuhn's "Structure of Scientific Revolution" comes to mind. Even after being confronted with anomolies you stick with the old theory. Conflicting data doesn't change your mind, then one day it is overwhelming. You subscribe to a new theory and have a paradigm shift. You frantically search for a new theory which makes sense of the anomalous data. This is what is happening across the board in the Republican party. Fox rightly, is banishing the old thinkers and searching for a new perspective.
they don't want a new perspective. they want the old perspective dressed-up with new talking heads. it's the same conservative bleat "it's not the message, it's the presentation."
Fox has canned Sarah Palin, Karl Rove and Dick Morris in the last few weeks. Hopefully the Fox and Friends trio is on the chopping block.
I don't have a Dick Morris story. I just know he's a total ass. Good riddance. Is Fox trying to do what some Republicans 'appear' to be doing? Trying to be less insane? Yeah, right.
Fox ditched Dick because he now bears a disturbing resemblance to Bella Abzug. They were probably nervous about the gender-bend and of course hate airing anybody who might look like a liberal.
I wonder what that money grubbing, whore snatching ne'erdowell's gonna do now? Apply for unemployment? Any bets if he'll become a 99er? -Kevo
Getting his toes sucked by a prostitute while giving Bill Clinton "advice" over the phone. What Clinton saw in him (besides a fellow "good-time Charlie") is beyond me.
I would also like to note that Morris seems to be fond of sucking hooker's toes. If that mental image doesn't give you the heebie jeebies, check for your pulse.
Last March Morris wrote, "Ohio Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown, the most liberal member of that body, is trailing conservative Republican Josh Mandel by 44-40 in Rasmussen's February 8, 2012 poll. Any incumbent Senator who can only amass 40% of the vote needs to look for a new job."
The problem: Rasmussen had Brown up 44-40.

Faux has to do a whole lot more house cleaning if they want credibility.
PS
Pundittracker.com gave Morris their "Worst Pundit of 2012" award, and adds "If you bet $1 on each of Morris’ calls in a virtual political betting market, you would have lost 70% of your money."

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy :)
I don't understand something Eliot Spitzer is on the show and not one word from anybody on these boards. Spitzer was the AG of New York caught doing something illegal, unless prostitution is legal in New York Queue the crickets for him and yet you bring up Morris.
Is this as they say on the show its ok he is our guy.
