Sen. Marco Rubio complains about the White House, gets a call from the President, changes his tune.
Sen. John McCain gets an earful from constituents angry about immigration reform.
The Virginia governor's race is a dead heat.
At least 16 injured in a natural gas explosion in Kansas City, MO.
Would you go to a football game in a stadium sponsored by a private prison corporation?
Who will get the best real estate in the U.S. Capitol?
In Norway, they watch tv shows about firewood and argue about whether to stack it bark up or bark down.

No wonder McCain is nutty...but the part that gets me is that I would be willing to bet that a lot of the people screaming about "These people" being lazy, illiterate and on welfare come from Irish, Italian or Eastern European heritage...
Tip O'Neil said "All politics is local"...in this case I would argue that all politics is Tribal
@Dragoon, what did you say about Irish? Lazy?, I will have you know that I have a very successful business and pay my taxes, its an insult to even suggest such things.Thats the problem with you Americans , you blame others when actually it is you that is lazy and probally on welfare. How dare you suggest that these people are tribal, come on over, I will show you tribal, but I wont go to your level, your probally some skank on dope
Perhaps the point is that "These people" have migrated from other countries as well.
Dear Irish1218, its called sarcasm. just as current Americans complain about 'these people' so did earlier Americans, only back then 'these people' were, among others, Irish. Unless you're a Native American, you & your ancestors are/were 'these people' at one point. Get a grip, please. peace.
Bark up or bark down...your preference...just don't bark at...
Have a kind day!
Veterans returning from war should Default to a status of disabled. We should assume the war experiences have damaged them. Mentally and or physically soldiers are damaged. This would reduce the stigma of mental illness because every one that served would be considered mentally damage. As soon as deployment ends treatment begins for everyone. Just the next step of the Army experience. Re-Integration phase of deployment.
We should assume every Vet and their families needs and deserves help.

For-profit prisons are the new corporations. Institutionalized legal slavery. Why not let them sponsor a stadium? Corporations are people my friend.
We need to change the Republican rant of you are either a Taker or a Maker to you are either an Inmate or a Guard.
It really saddens me that there is little real discourse as to the real ills and potential fixes for those ills that beset us as a nation. We shout at each other, and play the game of "Gotcha",instead of meaningful discussion of the issues involved.
A modest proposal might be to return to mandating a return to civics education in our public schools, then perhaps we might have a better prepared citizenry ,so that democracy does not die in this potentially grand country,we all proclaim to love so much.
After getting a look at the constituents that showed up to McCain's town hall, I have to wonder why he clings so hard to staying in politics. Not an inspiring crowd to say the least.
Just read a story on Think Progress about Mark Zuckberg & Facebook about his not having to pay taxes on his 1 billion dollar profits. Also wondering why more has not been made of the dark of night addition of a sweetheart deal for Ambgen by three Senators, two republicans and 1 Democrat. Talk about a swinging door. Apparently staffers had worked for this company or those leaving will be employed by same company that received "Corporate Welfare"
