And here's executive producer Bill Wolff with a preview of tonight's show:

I looked up the word flannel mouthed idiot in dictionary...Rachel maddows picture was behind it.
Please click the little ! in the lower right corner of the start of this thread and select 'no value'
Thank you.
I looked up CoyoteHunter, and look what I found!
Never noticed that John. What does No value do? If there are enough votes, does it turn on the "This thread collapsed by the community" feature?
I also didn't know you could quickly ignore user by clicking the exclamation- thanks.
Okay, I've been trying to be good, but tonight's story about Gov, Mike Pence in Indiana doubling down on the vaginal ultra-sound scheme...well, I fell off my chair laughing as this tune played in my mind throughout the clip. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Rachel, Rachel, Rachel,
Governor Pence should not be referred to as 'Governor Double Vaginal Probe'.
Too derivative, too technical.
Governor Pence should be referred to as 'Governor Double Penetration'.
Much more memorable.
Hry, Julia, how about referring to the new governor from IN(no pun inyernded) as Gov. Pencetration?
Uhm- I guess "no value" is subjective...
Rusty,
Mr. Pence is an attorney and radio talk show host, not a medical professional.
Now, as Governor of Indiana, he is playing 'lady-doctor' without a license. I can think of more descriptive nicknames for Mr. Pence, but there is the profanity filter and the tender sensibilities of the readers to consider.
Well, I surely understand the fact that governors aren't necessarily good. Heck, I'm right across the border from Indiana, here in Illinois. We have Quinn- the only positive from him is that I doubt he will be sent to prison.
Rusty,
Which, as a former 5-year resident of Illinois, I would say is a big step up.
Quinn's advantage is he doesn't have to do anything except not get convicted to be a major step up. Right now, he is in a major fight with public unions.
2 years go, they passed a temporary 60% income tax increase. Now, a bill has been posted to make it permanent. Wish I could say that surprises me. Even if they pass it, we will still be in the worst 2 or 3 states as to financial condition. A state rep was kicked out of the legislature last year, but then won re-election to get back in despite the bribery issues. A federal congressman and his alderman wife just pleaded guilty to federal charges as well. Quinn is the flower among these folks.
Lets just call it what it is:
*** State Sponsored Sexual Abuse ***
Welcome to America in 2013... Really?
Since this would be coercive penetration by means of an object, we could use the short-hand term used by the World Health Organization.
Which would be 'Rape'.
Unfortunately it's not looked at that way. A woman can say "no."
If a woman says no, they can't do it.
And....they can't provide her with a safe means of terminating her pregnancy, either.
The requirement to submit to an ultrasound is humiliatng enough to deter women from choosing what they wish to do with their reproductive health.
That is the point behind these laws. It's not about seeing a fetal heartbeat will convince a woman to change her mind, it's about humiliation.
When a landlord threatens to evict a single mom a bit short on the rent unless she provides, *ahem*, 'benefits', it is often called rape. (Depends on the state.)
Sure she can say no, and subject herself and her kids to eviction.
Withholding legal and perhaps necessary medical treatment unless one submits to medically unnecessary penetration with a foreign object seems to be within the WHO's definition of rape.
Bill, you seem to be saying dare me, what's up? Are you going to a premier, you're wearing a tie. Why don't you just say it, don't be shy.
